Ok, we all know Zidane is better but what I would like to know is who would you prefer in your team, and why?

Zidane or Figo.

Please give an adequate reason and elaborate.

Zidane for me, when he was in his prime and on form, he was the best player in the world, he used to do magic with a ball at times.

zizou probably cant dribble like figo, but his vison and tactical awareness is far far better.

Zidane infinitely better teamplayer, always supplies his teammates, figo often opt for the spectacular solo run

zidane has far better decision making and never hangs on the ball longer than he needs to. figo can overplay sometimes.

zidane was two footed, figo only ever used his right.

zidane is absolutely lethal with his head(you can interpret that many ways)and has a very underrated aerial game, figo useless in the air.

zidane was bigger, stronger.

zidane had very good workrate and can play deep in midfield, while figo, like all portuguese wingers, waits to be fed and offers nothing defensively.

Figo is superior to Zidane only in pace.

Zidane prevails in everything else.

I think Zidane had a more amazing and full of trophies career! Also he is the second most expensive player ever! :)

Personally I would say Zidane. In my head I still see him as some kind of magician. He could conjure things that would just leave you in awe. People will say his career ended on a sour note but he showed his class with that penalty and anyone who nuts Materazzi is a hero in my book

But it is an unfair comparison as they both played in different positions

Very straightforward answer. Zidane is better than Figo.

This thread may as well read Zidane Or A Potato for all Zidane and Figo are alike.

I dont see how they can be directly compared seeing as their styles and positions are different.

In terms of which would I rather have in my team... Zidane every time.

Pretty even for me but i would take Figo as he was more consitent in the long term, never disappeared from the matches and was always a threat, unlike Zizou who sometimes perdorm badly. Their impact in Real madrid was quite even as it is the only time where you can really compare both.
Still both amazing players, Zidane the best offensive midfielder i've seen play alonside Ronaldinho and Figo the best winger i've seen in the beautiful game alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

PS - who said Figo only played only with his right foot really should see some more footage of Figo, it's on youtube for everyone to see, as that is really not true

Zidane. But the gap is not as big as some people make it look.Figo as Barca Captain and in euro 2000 was almost as good as Zizou.
