Hi since the whole soccerpulse down saga theres been a few threads that have gone missing.

So since the goalkeeper thread has gone missing and i came to check out the thread as im a goal keeper myself, thought it would be good to start up the thread again.

So if you have pics of the latest goalkeeper equipment then post them up with a litlle bit about them.

EDIT: ORIGINAL THREAD TEXT
Suggested GK Gear Shops:

http://betweenthesticks.com/catalog/
VERY reliable. Located in the USA, and has high end equipment.

www.great-save.co.uk
Also a nice site in the UK. I have ordered from them a couple of times, and they keep a great stock and have good service.
http://www.just-keepers.com/
Keeps a good stock of equipment. Sells the Paul Robinson black out Nike Tiempo.

GLOVE CUTS
In regardds to GK gloves, there are many different styles and cuts of the palms. I will try to explain some of the most popular!

Flat Palm
This is the most basic of all cuts, and also the most widely used. These can sometimes be paired with finger protection. They are sometimes known to have sloppy fits, due to the fact that they usually aren't too snug
(IMG:http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/5832/neoinsideiiwa8.th.png)

Roll Finger
This glove offers a snugger fit, and adds a little more latex. It may take some getting used to if switching from other cuts of gloves, but the fit they offer is worth it.
(IMG:http://img283.imageshack.us/img283/6876/absorbhf2.th.png)

Negative Cut
These aren't found too often in many brands, and are mainly used for SMU's (Special Make Up) for professional goalkeepers. They offer a very snug fit, especially gloves with latex gussets.
(IMG:http://img302.imageshack.us/img302/5281/comfortsupersoftvo3.th.png)

There are other cuts as well, mainly because companies like to combine two different cuts. (Like the Nike Vapor Grip3, with 2 flat palm and 3 rolled fingers)

Thanks for restarting this. To add a little to the thread...

just-keepers.com exclusive SMU, with new Sells Optima latex, which is supposed to be a mix of Super4 and Adhesion Ultra. They look fantastic!

CFC-Lloydy

so any one got more info on forth coming gloves?
xcaliba kid
also does anyone know where i can get the long sleeve real madrid goalkeep top?
Pubes
I've heard Sells is coming out with some new latexes in 08, including a glove that will cost 100 pounds ($200). Honestly, if you have not had the chance to try a pair of Sells you should try to. I've had about 4 or 5 pairs now and they have all been fantastic.
gigi_buffon
guys im selling some Size 10 T90 gunn cuts, in black for 40pounds, brand new never worn. PM me if you are interested
EssienLover

They havea huge range and all, but I prefer supprting the smaller companies, as they give you great service and a GK specific and REALLY know their products..

I'm very disappointed with the Adidas range. Everything about them seems a little off.

well either you have a sponsorship, youve got alot of disposable income, or your teams defense is horrible! smile.gif how many shots do you see in a game? 2-3 months seems a little extreme to me, but i guess if i could blow approx $100 every 3 months i would do it too! smile.gif the last time i was able to go thru gloves that quickly was when nike was picking up the bill.
gigi_buffon
hmm i make atleast 20+ saves in a game, and what i usually do is save all my money for a month or so and blow it all at once to buy them at the start of the season, so i dont need to worry mid-season. whenever i have spare money i buy some gloves, and now that i have enough for pre-season and the season im fine and dont need to buy anymore till next year(09), possibly later. i have like 2-3cheaper pairs to train in if my old ones are no good, i train 5times a week for around 3hours of straight drills etc etc.
i havnt bought gloves since july and i havnt had a job since then either tongue.gif im only 17 btw.
celtickeeper1
20+ saves a game... watch an old tape of peter schmeichel and start yelling at defenders! smile.gif

hi ive had these for about 2/3 months now. they are good gloves and offer good wet weather grip. i got them for the full price ( damn you lol ) and find them as a good match glove. i must say tho they arent the most padded or shock absorbent gloves and are rather light. the durability so far seems very good and have hardly any wear. im getting the the selsport aqua 7 gloves.

wat size are you ? because pro-direct have got some very good gloves for sale. sells are probarly some of the best for wet weather. hope this helps.

p.s these gloves run quite baggy but fingers will fit fine. they are no where near as snug as selpsort so im not sure wat to say otherwise
alexm46
cheers, i'm size 8 and i've only had one pair of uhlsport gloves before so i'm still not sure weather to get these.

and what sells gloves do you recomend.

trhey look like Motobike Gloves ! why dont you just stick to classic gloves that pro's use!(adidas fingertips , fingersaves, nike vapor 3 , sells wraps . all the gimmicks and special grip bolloxs is just a con.
alexm46
so what gloves do you recommend then?

well it depends how serious you are about getting gloves ? are you playing at a high standard ? or just a friendly team ?

anyway my choise for a high qulaity glove would be (due to my exsperiances of them )
http://www.just-keepers.com/Merchant2/merc...;Category_Code=

i have had them and have lasted so long and amazing fit and grip

also

http://www.just-keepers.com/Merchant2/merc...;Category_Code=

great allaround glove!

hunt around for the best prices tho

both of these gloves are used by adidas and nike endorsed keepers (prob a SMU) but i would stick to gloves like that , instead of fancy grip tech and fuddyduddy gimmicks
alexm46
thanks thumbsup.gif , i've been thinking about getting the adidas fingertip gloves but i've not decided yet.
