With a game against Leiria this week at home and Porto and Benfica hammering each other this week (I hope ) This is a great week to make up some points on the front runners.... Being 10 points back of Porto looks very tough to over come right now but there is still alot of soccer left to be played and no better time then this weekend to start our climb back towards the top

I hope to see a 2 or 3-0 win at home this week for SCP as it has been a while since I have seen them put together a dominate performance

Leiria held Braga at home last week if im not mistaken. Sporting really need to bounce back here or it will look embarrassing. Especially on Paulo Bento lol.

Rui Patricio is a Benfica player in disguise.

I’m not sure how much longer Bento can hold on to his job at this rate? If we lose this weeks CL game is he gone? He has made some brutal decisions as of late and the system the team is playing is not producing results…His defence first approach while not very exciting to watch was able to move Sporting towards the top of the table after he took over last year. This year the late goals allowed have turned his system into a boring tying machine. Just in this game alone… Why is Polga taking a PK…He has 1 bloody goal scored in his six years with the team! Sorry but you pay money to get a 23 year old international goalie and you don’t even have him on the bench for a 19 year old kid who has let in 2 atrocious goals in the last 3 games that have cost you 4 points? The league is lost so now we still have UEFA and Tacas to play for but the white towels are waving in Alvalade…..

Sporting dont have a champions league game this week. The only games for the CL are benfica's group.

I have know idea why polga took that pen. I understand moutinho not wanting to take it because he missed his last one and probably was low on confidence to take this one but i dont understand why someone like liedson or veloso didnt take it. It wasnt even a good pen save it was just a poor penalty. The way he ran up to the ball i could tell that he was gonna miss it.

P. Bento wud have been happy with the 1-0 because he was going to bring on another CB but then leiria scored and he decided to bring on farnerud. Did he take off vukcevic for him? Didnt vukcevic come on for izmilov so i was baffled to why he got tooken off.

The keeper is not really as bad as everyone is saying. I just think he got into the first team too quickly and i think he's just a little bit nervous in his first couple of games. I think he should be loaned out to get some first team experience. What is happening with stojkovic? P. Bento seems to have a personal problem with him at the moment and i wouldnt be surprised if sporting go after another keeper in the january transfer window.

I would love to know how Polga was nominated to take the PK .... funny thing is it looked like him and Tonel were the two players who were talking over who should take it (what a joke) IMHO it should be the free kick taker who should take it since Liedson is not great at them (so Veloso or Romangoli)

Yup looks like Stojkovic has joined Carlos Martins in Bento's dog house ..... He has looked far more confident in net then Tiago and Patricio so I dont know whats up with that as I have not seen any Bento comments on the subject ....

Seems like we have become more afraid to lose then want to win if that makes sense? We come back in numbers but dont attack with full out speed... always play the ball up slow looking to break a teams defense down wich is hard to do when they are smart and keep 9 guys back... no speed in our attack is killing us

I dont think Paulo Bento will get fired anytime soon. Its not cause he doesnt deserve to but its because soares franco seems to be in love with him or something. Hes always sayin that he will stay for many years to come and he is the man to take sporting forward. i remember once he said that he wanted the sporting - paulo bento relationship to be like the man utd - ferguson one. He wants paulo bento to stay for a long time. Its pretty hard to believe that a bwin league manager will stay that long since there always getting fired but i do feel that bento will stay about 2 or 3 more years.

Isn't Stojkovic still injured? You need to cut patricio some slack Scp Guy. He's only 19 and has played pretty good in the last two games. Just image if you put Tiago in goal instead.

Stojkovic has been fully fit for a while. Bento is just leaving him out of the squad for some reason.

Stojkovic has not been injured the last few games...he has been left out due to coaches option.... I don't care if Patricio is 12 years old if he is giving up poor goals at critical moments he is not ready to play between the pipes for SCP

He also said that sporting will be active in the transfer market. a couple of weeks ago he said sporting didnt have a lot of money for the transfer market unless they really had to spend alot. Seems like sporting are panicing.

Tiago is not better then stoijkavic but patricio has the potential to be better then him. Stoijkovic is just a Quim look a like that is picking up where ricardo left off and that is letting in some frangos.

Porto fans are not as dum as u think. All they need to know is how to add 3 points at the end of every week. lol. unlike some teams who havent seen 3 points in so loooooonnnnnggggg. *cough* sporting *cough*.

Speaking of frangos have you seen the last two goals Patricio has let in during the league? Even the hard shot Ronaldo put past him he was caught going the wrong way for no reason .... Im not saying Partico wont be a good goalie in the future but I dont want a 19 year old kid as the full time starter for SCP.... to many growing pains.

So what, how many dumb moves did stoijkavic already make? Theres a reason why got loaned out for everyteam he played for, even in his time in Serbia he was sent to weaker teams and I don't blame them. I would pick Tiago or Patricio anytime over that garbage, and apparently, Bento agrees....

Sporting went out for a Ricardo replacement, and made a horrible move. He's way way below average.

I think Tiago should be starting for you guys atm and in January look for a new one. Marcos from Maritimo is even better, I would go for him.
