i was out for a year with an injury, and i am a goalkeeper. Now i was really upset about it, as i was vastly and constantly improving, and was also on the verge off signing up for a youth team. then came the injury. Here is how it happened. i was in goals in a cup match for our sunday team, and their player came through. One on one situation. Staying calm, i advanced towards him, he paniced, knocked the ball to far ahead and stamped on my leg very hard, breaking it and tearing my ligament. sad.gif

so i am now back on the training field. I already train 1-2-1 with my friend. I am signing up for a saturday premier team who are local. Now all i want to know is, is it possible to return to my old ways. Get back to my level again? the BIG question is, how does a comeback goalie start of training and what drills to do, if i am coming back into football now?

You can. If you focus. You'll need some easier games before important ones, to become mentally prepared again. Start basic: catching, collapse diving, boxing, basic attacking the ball as if it's played through or a striker takes a long touch, etc. and get your form on those basic things perfect before you move on to power diving, full speed breakaways, deflecting the ball over the crossbar, etc.
