Sam Allardyce will be sacked as Newcastle manager and replaced by Alan Shearer if the Magpies lose to Arsenal on Wednesday. (Sunday Times)

Peter Crouch could move to Newcastle in an £8m deal next month. (Daily Star Sunday)

West Ham are hoping to lure former Totenham full-back Stephen Carr away from Newcastle. (News of the World).

Newcastle are eyeing Espanyol striker Luis Garcia if Obafemi Martins carries out his threat to quit Tyneside. (News of the World).

Allardyce wont get sacked 100% sure

Bring in Crouch (most underrated player at Liverpool) ameobi out. But wont happen City will most probs buy him and sam wont get him, we already have a target man in Viduka but i prefer Crouch for these reasons- He's a English player (More games he plays the more he will improve and thats a plus for England NT) Can RUN, hold up the ball, bring players into play and has nice control for a big man.

West ham wanna lure Carr away LMAO west ham u dont need to try anything on the sly i'll bring Carr to u for free!!!!

I like Garcia but Espanyol wont sell him and i dont want Martins to leave!

They should offer Downing in part exchange, that will wrap up the deal before you can say 'Smog'.

When that happens, I'd like to know how Ronaldinho plans on wearing the gas mask with his hair do.

Sunderland have been linked with very few players to be honest. Jonny Evans and Danny Simpson are constantly linked, but apart from those, the last players i can remember being linked were Matty Taylor and Sean Davis from Pompey....which pompeyboy quickly played down.

Jonny Evans is the most likely player to come, at this moment.

Apparently, Coppell has told Shorey and Lita they are free to leave, and Lita is wanted by Sunderland.

I truly believe Allardyce wont get sacked and is the right man for Newcastle. He just needs time!!!

Capello in if Sam gets sacked??? I don't think so, Yes he is one of the best managers in the world and had a lot of success but he sets up his team up to play defensive style football win games 1-0 and that's something the Toon Army wont like!! They need to be entertained.

Mido is injured so you can hardly call him a flop. Have you watched Aliadiere and Mido for 90 mins? If you have you will see that they are a constant threat and will be two great signings. No signing can look good if the team isn't succeeding.

Perhaps, but when you get new players, you often expect them to turn around the club's fortune for you. Its a reason why you sign them in the first place. They should help the team in succeeding.

Anyway, I think both of them are good players on their day but you cant expect them to score 15-20 goals a season. They wont be setting the League alight anytime soon.

Luis Garcia insists he is not interested in leaving Espanyol after being linked with a move to Newcastle United

Celestine Babayaro has agreed a deal to have the remainder of his Newcastle United contract paid up
aimaad22
Thats not great news, about Sam not having funds for January. With Babayaro now gone, I think we need a Left back. Babayaro was crap anyway. N'Zogbia isnt a left back, and Enrique is far from established at the moment.

You're continuously being linked with Brown. How in the world will he help with the left-back position I dunno. He could well end up with Newcastle though if we don't sort out that bloody contract.

Brown is versatile, and reasonably reliable on his day so he is an attractive option for us.

But overall I think he is prone to errors, and we all know how suddenly decent defenders who have a knack of being nervy fall apart at Newcastle. Im sure Brown can be a decent asset for a club like Villa/Blackburn/Everton, but not sure about Newcastle as he doesnt seem the most confident to me and might not be able to handle the pressure.
Smith™
Brown aint going nowhere. He knows he's the number 1 RB at Man u now, so he's just holding out for a better contract.

Everton, Newcastle and Portsmouth are vying for the services of Swindon left-back Ben Tozer

Sunderland manager Roy Keane wants to sign Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell, Blackburn striker Jason Roberts and Manchester United defender Wes Brown.

Norwich boss Glenn Roeder will return to his former club Newcastle to try to sign striker Shola Ameobi.
Ayresome
Steve Sidwell would be a good signing, he isn't getting his game at Chelsea so why not.
Smith™
He would be a magnificent signing for Sunderland. He was a excellent, important player for Reading. Now he's a little gobshite. Purley went to Chelsea for the £50k p/w honestly did he believe he would play apart in the Chelsea set up?
Ayresome
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11680_2977050,00.html

Looks like we will be signing Baros, can't see why he wouldn't come if he's playing poorly in Lyon.

Mido said in the paper that there was no need for another striker because he would score goals so looks like he will cause a row when we sign someone.
aimaad22
Mido is always likely to cause trouble one way or the other, score goals Im not so sure about.

Baros would be a decent signing, although Im not sure how useful he will be because he is a bit of a hit and miss.

NEW TOON TAKEOVER PLAN HITS ALLARDYCE

QUOTE
Sam Allardyce’s Newcastle future will be thrown into doubt once again in the new year amid a £200millon takeover battle for the club.

A mystery Singapore consortium is on the verge of launching a megabucks bid to buy out Newcastle’s current owner Mike Ashley.

And if the deal goes ahead, manager Allardyce will be facing another uncertain time under his third set of owners since arriving at St James’ Park.

Though Ashley insists he has no plans to sell the Premier League strugglers just six months after buying it for £170m, the signs are he is ready to listen to serious offers.

And, after such a torrid start to his reign in the north east, the loaded retail sports magnate, worth £1.9billion, may well find the interest from Singapore too tempting.

Our source said: “The talk is that £200m would be enough to buy Newcastle – and it could happen early in 2008.”

If he cuts the deal, Ashley will walk away having banked a whopping £30m from his investment – or £100,000 for each day in charge.

Nice work if you can get it – but the news from the Far East is a major blow for Allardyce, coming so soon after the Geordies’ draw with Arsenal and yesterday’s 2-1 win over Birmingham earned him crucial breathing space.

That point against the league leaders resulted in chairman Ashley issuing his manager with a third vote of confidence in as many weeks.

But, tellingly, he refused to give Allardyce any long-term security – admitting only that his position was not under ‘immediate’ threat.

We were linked with that Alves bloke in the summer and I've never heard of Daniel Cousin - then again, I don't watch much Scottish football. I can't see why we need another first team striker - Tuncay will, hopefully, continue his fine form, Aliadiere will chip in with a few and Mido will give us another quality attacking option. It is clear that Tuncay will be a massive hit at the Riverside, he is starting a revolution. Middlesbrough have never been loud at home or away but I got chills when I heard the atmosphere at the Arsenal game and all I heard on MOTD was Middlesbrough's travelling fans.

Newcastle seem to have a bit of progress on their youngster search:

SKY:

Newcastle United look to have won the race to sign Swindon Town's highly-rated starlet Ben Tozer.

The 17-year-old defender arrived at St James' Park on Monday in a bid to thrash out personal terms in a deal that could net cash-strapped Swindon in excess of £1million.

The two clubs concurred on an initial fee of £250,000, which could rise to an eventual £1.1million depending on appearances.

A move to the Premier League would cap a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for Tozer, who only arrived at Swindon in the summer having been deemed surplus to requirements at Plymouth.

Deal close

A club spokesman confirmed: "Ben has travelled up today and we are very confident that he will agree a deal.

"The deal is not yet confirmed but both clubs have agreed a deal and we are just waiting for confirmation."

Tozer previously had a trial at Everton earlier this season but it now looks as though he has opted for a move to the North East
QUOTE
Newcastle are set to make a bid for Hungarian starlet Tamas Kadar, according to reports.

It is reported in Hungary by Obudaisport that St James' Park boss Sam Allardyce is considering a £650,000 move for the 17-year-old Zalaegerszeg defender.

Kadar is keen on a move when the January transfer window opens after recently undergoing a trial with Newcastle and playing in a friendly against Hartlepool.

When in England Kadar also spent time with Bolton, but Newcastle appear to have the edge as they would want the teenager - who has played for Hungary's Under 21 side - to ease their central defensive problems in the future.

Favourite place

"I really enjoyed being in England," Kadar told Skysports.com.

"In Bolton they would count me as a left-sided defender and in Newcastle I would play in the centre of the defence. I admit this (central) is my favourite place on the pitch.

"I know nothing about the financial details, but I did my very best and I know they both liked my performances.

"I was told that I would have a good chance to sign in England and my move might be realized in the winter transfer period."

QUOTE
Sam Allardyce has poured cold water on reports he is ready to bring Ipswich winger Jon Walters to Newcastle.

The pair worked together at Bolton and with Walters having been in excellent form of late, he has been linked with a switch to St James' Park.

Several newspapers have reported that Allardyce is weighing up a raid on Portman Road but any such talk has now been dismissed.

"I had Jonathan with me at Bolton and I'm delighted he's doing so well with Ipswich.

"But he's not someone I'm looking to bring here."

In other news, Allardyce has confirmed that new boy Ben Tozer's stay in the North East could prove to be a short one.

Tozer deal

United are set to wrap up Tozer's signing in the next few days having struck a deal with Swindon for the 17-year-old.

But due to the player's age, and inexperience, Allardyce is weighing up whether to send him out on loan.

"He is only 17 and he is obviously one for the future," he told the Evening Chronicle.

"And yes, there is a possibility Ben will be allowed to go out on loan.

"But first we want him to stay here for two or three weeks so that we can look at him and he can look at us."

We're only getting linked with these unkown players so far, I hope Sam is also looking at one or two experienced players in January.

Newcastle, Manchester City and West Ham are in a three-way battle to sign Barcelona's ex-Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen. (The Sun)

"Eidur Gudjohnsen insists he does not want to leave Barcelona despite reported interest from a number of Premier League clubs"

Middlesbrough have insisted England winger Stewart Downing will not be leaving the club during the January transfer window. (various)

Tozer looks as good as signed.

Gudjohnsen would be a perfect signing in January. He can play as an AM or CF, I watched him against Valencia on the weekend he played in Midfield done a decent job and scored. I dont understand why he wants to stay at Barcelona tho, He has to compete with world-class players like Eto'o, Messi, Ronnie, Henry, Bojan and Gio and he aint getting any younger, 29 now. Its time to move on imo

I got a feeling Everton may try and sign Downing. £8m-£10m should get him.
Matty #3
God i hope Jonny Evans is innocent. A player of that quality, i really hope that woman is another bitch plotting for money and media coverage.

Apparantly Stoke are keen on making Stephen Wright's loan permanent.

Rumour has it that Keane is gonna have a bit of a clearout in January. Stan Varga, David Connolly, Stephen Wright, Graham Kavanagh and Daryl Murphy are all being tipped to leave. Kavanagh and Murphy are the two who Keane has said have futures, but the other three look certain to leave.

Downing won't leave. He is worth more than Yakubu so they'd have to pay us at least £12m.
