So what is actually going on with this guy? He played 20mins against Benfica and also played against Liverpool. Is he coming back into favour? This could mean Scolari could call him up, he is part of his family after all

Who knows, I like the guy as a player. I have no clue what's going on behind the scences and in training/practice...he might be fairing well. So let's see if it pays off during the games.

ANd he continues to play poorly. I wish this guy went back to not getting called up again...

he plays well, he had 10 in thirty and that was in the first fifteen las season, then he was dropped for Adriano and made cameo apperances. for the nt he is an awesome clutch player. He really fits in a 4-4-2 not the 4-3-2-1 as a lone striker. hes decent but needs to go to france or spain or italy, and get some time

Embeding is not working for me... I put the youtube quotes around the video, it just shows up as invisible when I post it. Do I have to wait for it to show up?

hes in scolari's family?
Yh. lol. Thats the people that scolari picks for the national team no matter what. Even if they havent played for their club for the whole season like costinha who wasnt even written into his clubs league and still got to play in the world cup.

Guy, I had a trial with a third division Portuguese team...it doesn't get better...trust me!!
Plus it's not like Postiga is the worst striker in the Superliga, he's up their with the best, not saying like there is anything to boast about our leagues strikers.

i like him, hes good and just has patches, but he comes through in the end. give him a chance. obviously hes not a Eusebio.Pauleta is good and is the all time scorer but he played in less glamerous leagues, except for spain, and reality is that if he keeps scoring a goal in three games for Porto and the nt, shows hes a good player

Im talking about my 3rd divison team in Canada....most of the guys who play in my league think they are playing hockey without boards
Of course Im just poking fun at Postiga he is from far the worst striker in Portugal... he is just not up to Porto standards IMO .

We've been doing that for 4 years, and theres never a slight sign of improvement.

1) I've noticed that aswell...they don't have skill, but they make up for it in brute strength...they're also hairy, smelly, and have loads of socks on when playing, it's MADNESS!!
2) That can be said...I still think he needs a bit of form to kick off this season.

I think we should just loan him out. Maybe he'll be able to regain his form and gain some confidence. He's very talented but he seems nervous when he plays now.

I really fear this though...if he scores goals then who knows, Scolari might just start him at Euro 2008.

I wouldn't be too sure about that lol.....remember he called Joao Tomas to the NT when he was based in the Middle East! This callup was about 2 years late....the man is totally random. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Postiga features in Euro 2008

Agreed, Almeida is actually pretty good. Sure he doesn't have the pace to keep up with Ronaldo and the rest of our wingers/forwards, but he's a target man and is a pretty good player like I said, and he's young!! the guy is only 23.
Nando89
Jan 16 2008, 03:02 PM
Almeida is surprisingly fast for a big man. He was running with the ball after a corner and I thought he was Ronaldo until I saw the number. If postiga does go to the Euro I hope he takes Gomes spot. Gomes is the least suited for our style out of the four strikers.
Matieo10
Jan 16 2008, 05:29 PM
oh yeah ofcourse...he's not at all slow...I mean I think it'd be best, if he does play, to just stay up in the opposition's half, and not back track for defending corners. I doubt he could keep up with a counter attack of Ronaldo's magnitude
It'd be amazing if he could score another 40-yad screamer the way he did against Inter though
