Yea, if you haven't got anything to say a 'Forza Juventus' is always nice.
What are the general opinions on where we end in Serie A? 1? 2? 3? 4? I'd say that anything within CL-qualification is a succes, but I'm voting for the third spot.

I'd say if we get either Benzema or Ben Arfa, and one good defender such as Barzagli or Ivanovich, in January then we should be able to challenge for the title.
Second place is never good enough for Juventus.....

I reckon you guys will get top 4. I fear that it will be at the expense of us as we are playing like shit. But Fiorentina, despite losing to Inter, Inter and Roma, along with yoursleves, I think have too much for us over the course of 38 games. I reckon ye will get 3rd behind the Nerazzurri and Giallorossi.

Regarding the ideas on where Juve will finish, remember that Juve is a team that has just come back up from the lower division: a more physical and demanding although less skillful style of play, so it is to Ranieri's credit that he has been able to use younger players to add more speed and energy. Guys such as Palladino (who I've liked since he was on loan at Crotone), Nocerino (who some peg as the next Gattuso), and Criscito (who is now leaving).
We have tied Inter and Roma, stopped Fiorentina's solid streak (they've been in a downswing since), tied a pumped up Milan, and crushed Palermo (a rare thing). With a 6pt lead on 4th and a Milan team a fair ways below, Juve's proven that they can hang with the big boys (remember that Roma was demolished by Inter).
That being said, if Trez continues to run rampant and Iaqui and DP can also put up goals, and if Camo can stay healthy, all it takes is a few breaks and they can challenge Inter...unless the refs have other ideas (Napoli anyone?)

Molinaro is decent, but still needs more polishing than perhaps any of the other young guns we have. Maybe he can turn into a more solid player, but right now I haven't been as impressed with him as I have been with guys like Palla and Nocerino

Ranieri demands Scudetto push
Saturday 5 January, 2008
Claudio Ranieri insists Juventus must aim for the Scudetto, but tension is showing as he stormed out of today’s Press conference.
“In 2007 this team won the Serie B Championship. We want to do the same in 2008 with the Serie A title,” commented the Coach.
“Juve are doing well, nobody can deny that, but we have to do even better and give 100 per cent. We must improve our average points tally if we want to target something more important.
“Our objective has not changed – to be the best and bridge the gap from the other sides.”
The Bianconeri were expected to struggle after Calciopoli, but they went into the Christmas break in third place, eight points adrift of Inter.
“We have very clear room for improvement. There are players I haven’t had much chance to work with, like Mauro Camoranesi and Marco Marchionni. I expect more from everyone. We have made giant steps forward, but still need to improve in defence. When I see Gigi Buffon disappear from a match, I’ll say we are doing well.”
In a bid to revitalise the squad over this winter break, Ranieri is taking Juventus to Malta for a mid-season training camp.
“I expect a warm welcome from the fans that can further help to compact the team. We need to be ready to roll immediately as soon as the season kicks off again.”
However, Ranieri showed some tension towards the media as he walked out of the Press conference when asked about the future of Sergio Almiron.
The Argentine has been a flop since joining from Empoli in the summer and it is widely reported he will move on to Olympiacos later this month.
He was also asked for a comment on the rumours that Rafael Van Der Vaart has accepted an £11m switch to Turin.
“Van Der Vaart? Sure, why not add Kaka and Zlatan Ibrahimovic while we’re at it,” he joked before saluting the journalists and walking away.
Farinos
Jan 11 2008, 09:07 AM
^ I still don't hope van der Vaart is just a dream.
As I see it, there are little to no chance we will surpass Inter on that first spot - they've rightfully deserved a possible Scudetto this year. We can hope to beat Roma on that second spot though.
dreamlander
Jan 11 2008, 05:41 PM
I dont think there is any doubt Van Der Daart will be yours soon enough. I think its just Ranieri playing games. I think come the summer, when Nedved will retire or return home I think, then Van der Vaart will be unveiled.

players but they have a great desire to do something big and thats all we need now.
i've always thought that we need the best players to be a bigtem but now with all those young players
i believe spirit is the most important thing.. juve is doing great in the calcio.

Unfortunate loss vs Reggina.
Ref - missed two penalties for us (atleast 1 with Sissoko), and then blew the whistle the second time Reggina was even near Belardi's area in second half. Wtf was Sissoko even overhead-kicking for?
Horrible performance by Camoranesi, acceptable by DP, who, though he scored, didn't have much luck with his balls and a good performace by Sissoko.
On another note, Reggina is one of the worst teams I've seen play football, and it is embarassing we couldn't beat them.

Not really sure where to put this in your forum and I don't want to make a new topic, but I've got a question. How's Zdenek Grygera doing? I haven't heard anything of him since he left. And I haven't seen a single minut of Juventus this season (never liked watching them play, plus I don't see a lot of the Serie A). I loved him at Ajax and he really deserved a good transfer. Altough I don't really like Juventus I thought it would be a great club for him. He was a true defender, a bit Italian.. One we never had before at Ajax. So when he made this move I was positive it would work out well. But somehow I doubt this has happened since I never heard anything? And you guys bought quite some players in january if I am not mistaken.
Some googling informs me that he has only played 9 matches. Can anybody tell me what went wrong and do you see chances for him in the near future?

He had a few recurring injury problems that hampered his form and ability to start. He played as a CB and RB, but it was clear that he is much better as a RB as he has solid dribbling skills. Had he been 100% fit, Zebina would have have been benched.

Lol we found out the exact opposit. We bought him as a RB (that was where he played in the national team), but he was to slow and defensively minded to be a RB in the Dutch league. Later he got placed as a CB and he really fit in. He and Stam were a great duo last year.

...and well he did play last game against Genoa playing as a LB. He scored a stunner and set up another one for Trezegol.
I'm sure when everybody is fit in defence, Grygera wil bench Zebina in the RB role.
He has dribbling skills, crosses and a shot which wold be waisted in a CB position, so I'd like to c him play on the flanks.

I am, just have to leave for uni now. Strong performance by Juve just can't find the net. Sissoko and Tiago have looked good but in the last couple of min Tiago seems back to his old tricks, poor in possession. If it ends 0-0 Juve will be quite unlucky. I feel sorry for the pressure Ranieri is unfairly under. I can't see why people keep on critisising Sissoko either. I think he's done really well at Juve

Mar 16 2008, 04:28 PM
Sissoko seemed very dirty today, I dunno, just the way he's gone about his tackles, aways committing way too much to the slide tackle.
Tiago was quite all game long, and came alive for those 2 strong shots.
Anyways, I just wanna say that Juventus have won by a score of 1-0 with Del Piero scoring I believe in the 88th minute, correct me if I'm wrong, I wasn't paying much attention with the Atletico game on. But as soon as that goal went in, Juventus were a different side and began dominating the final moments of the game, with the stadium just erupting all over.
Deserved win for Juve, putting on pressure for the majority of the game. Nedved is just amazing, he's crazy at his age, great stuff.

Well deserved and hard earned victory. Del Piero made an assist for Iaquinta to score on the 88th minute.
Sissocko had made an immediate impact since his arrival to Juventus. I don't understand how pple still doubt his abilities or say that team wasted money on him.
I was impressed with Tiago as he lost possession only twice (I think) and almost score on a couple of times.
Trezeguet looked a bit tense (unusually) in the beginning of a game, not sure why.
Absence of Zebina actually made the difference in the defence, as Grygera looks more solid in D and when he helps out in attack.
Nedved was suspended for 2 games, so he was really hungry for action.
Valencianista
Mar 17 2008, 12:29 AM
Grygera is much better than Zebina imo. Zebina's okay I guess he's a big guy but he's sloppy and kind of clumsy. He plays his part sometimes but in general he's average at best. Grygera has more to him, I don't know the most about him but whenever I've seen him for Ajax he's been good enough I definitely think he's more of a right back than a centre back because he's not really that dominating in the air.
I've never been a Tiago fan but with a proper ball winner next to him in Sissoko he could hold when he needed to and gave him some freedom to push up sometimes too. Whereas with Zanetti he's pressured to push up more and more emphasis is on him to do all of the initial work in the midfield. I still think that Ranieri will probably prefer the Sissoko - Zanetti combination. I think the best way to look at Sissoko is an unrefined version of Tacchinardi. He'll do all the donkey work, win balls, make fouls and occasionally come up with a really good piece of football but he'll disappoint with some easier passes/shots. Which for me should be fine becuase it's not really his job. Although Tacchi is some intense player. Momo's shooting will never come close to his.
Glad that Iaquinta gave them the win because Ranieri had his bullocks in twist for no good reason. Hopefully this will relive some pressure from him. Although if I were him I'd have chucked Molinaro on the left wing from the beggining and Salihamizic on the right. I don't really rate Nocerino overall but when he does play he shouldn't be playing on the right wing. I think in the centre for the time being he's probably a better option than Tiago although Tiago is more likely to create a good product.
But that shouldn't be a problem because Camoranesi should be back soon right?

Camoranesi should be available for this mid week game.
If anything I do agree that Tiago plays better when he is next to Sissocko. I hope Tiago gets better and grow in confidence, otherwise he is waste of shirt.
Grygera should be our regular RB, while Nocerino is good as a DMC player who kills the play instead of creating one, so I hate to see him play as a RMer.

Juve approve new stadium
Tuesday 18 March, 2008
Juventus’ Board of Directors has approved the construction of a new £82m stadium on the site of the old Stadio Delle Alpi.
The plans to create a new arena had been put on hold with the Calciopoli scandal and their demotion to Serie B, but finally look set to go ahead.
However, they specified that it would not require an increase in the club’s capital.
The stadium should be ready for the 2011-12 season and until then Juve will continue to share the Olimpico with local rivals Torino.
The Delle Alpi was constructed for the 1990 World Cup, but has always been extremely unpopular for its cavernous size.
The worst aspect of it was the athletics track that created a large gap between the stands and the pitch.
Juve aim to create a modern ‘British style’ stadium that can also be used for conferences, events and shopping centres.
This would be great.
Farinos
Mar 19 2008, 11:53 AM
Indeed. I've always thought our stadium needed a revamp - especially because our fans are too far away from the field. Great examples, as mentioned, are Old Trafford, Anfield and Stamford Bridge where the fans really serve as a 12th man.

Juve enter Emirates Cup
Juventus will take part in this summer’s Emirates Cup in London to prepare for next season’s Scudetto push.
Claudio Ranieri’s side have entered the tournament, which will be played over two days in August, along with hosts Arsenal, German outfit Hamburg and Spanish champions Real Madrid.
The competition is played in a Group format with three points for a win, one for a draw and an additional point for each goal scored.
Inter were amongst the entrants in the 2007 edition, but the Nerazzurri finished at the bottom of the pack after defeats against Valencia and winners Arsenal.
Juve will take on Arsenal on the opening day – August 2 – and Hamburg on day two – August 3.
Emirates Cup schedule:
August 2:
Real Madrid v Hamburg – 2pm
Arsenal v Juventus – 4.15pm
August 3:
Juventus v Hamburg – 2pm
Arsenal v Real Madrid – 4.15pm
I guess they are planning well for next season but they must did well in the mercato first.
