I'm not sure if I like them to be honest. I like my soccer balls to look like soccer balls. Not futuristic orbs used in Battlestar Galactica.

So the champs use the black one all year? Interesting.
Did they re-design it so it would bend more for Becks? jk (kind of)

I think that Major League Soccer should use footballs that don't cost a whole lot of money, instead of using expensive ones. This way, it would be possible for the fans to have a free souvenir if they (by chance) happen to catch a foul ball. By my understanding, M.L.S. currently requires fans to return all foul balls that they catch.
I understand that the American League, National League, and Arena Football League all do this, and I would think that it gives the fans something to be happy about, thus enhancing their gameday experience. It would be wonderful if Major League Soccer did the same thing.

As far as I know, NBA and MLS are the only two professional leagues that require the ball back. And I seriously doubt that will ever change.
For that to work in soccer, they would have to make a ball as cheap as a baseball and thats unrealistic.

What is a foul ball in soccer?
I like the look of them. The playoff ball especially. I believe they did the same thing this year Jrlm, giving the Dynamo a different ball for the season.

Yeah the Dynamo will use the black one all season, god knows why they chose black as the colour though, silver or gold would have looked a lot better for the champion team, I believe the Champions League winners get to use a gold variant of the CL ball the season after.
