Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has told Matt Taylor he will not stand in his way if the right offer comes in.
Taylor recently voiced his frustration at his lack of opportunities this season, having started just three Premier League games.
Redknapp insists he still rates the midfielder, but he can also understand his frustration and would be willing to let him go for a good price.
"I know how he feels," said Redknapp. "He is a very good player and I want to keep him here but if a big offer comes in I wouldn't stand in his way.
"Matty is a good lad who trains hard and gives everything and if he was happy with just being on the bench and playing in the reserves I wouldn't want him here with that attitude anyway."
Reading and Fulham have been linked with Taylor, who can also play at left-back but may cost upwards of £4million.
But with the African Cup of Nations looming large on the horizon Redknapp may still hope to convince Taylor to stay at Fratton Park.
The manager said: "When the African Cup comes around I'll have a squad of only 14 players capable of playing at Premier League level. That's all."
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11674_2947669,00.htmlReal Mallorca striker Jonas Gutierrez has revealed that he would be keen on a January move to Portsmouth.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is reportedly interested in bringing the 24-year-old to Fratton Park, as he looks to strengthen his attack for the second half of the season.
Reports suggest that Mallorca will only accept a substantial offer for their forward as 50 per cent of the fee will be paid to Gutierrez's former club, Newell's Old Boys.
The Argentine has spoken of the potential move, voicing his belief that he would be a success in the Premier League.
"I know the situation and my position has not changed. If the offer is right then I would like to play in the Premier League," he said in the Daily Mirror.
"I am convinced I could be a success for a club like Portsmouth and am ambitious to succeed.
"They have a very good reputation and want to be successful so it is a club that appeals."
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11674_2948538,00.htmlStuttgart's Fernando Meira says he knows nothing about the reported interest from Portsmouth.
Speculation is mounting that Harry Redknapp is preparing to make a move for the Portuguese defender in the January transfer window.
Scouts from England and Greece have reportedly watched Meira in action for the Bundesliga champions.
Not spoken
"All I know is what I have read in the papers. I have not spoken to the English club," the 29-year-old told skysports.com.
Stuttgart have also confirmed they have not received any approach for the defender.
"We have received no formal offer for Meira. At this moment this is only a rumour," said a club spokesman.

Jonas Guitterez is the one there that fascinates me most. I dont know exactly what his goalscoring record is for Mallorca over the last season or two, but his work rate is phenomenal which leads me to believe that he has the right mentality for Premiership football. Whether or not he could acclimatize socially and whatnot is another thing....but the game itself I see as no issue for him!

Pompey trial T&T starlet
Youngster tries his luck on South Coast
Trinidad & Tobago starlet Jerrel Britto has spent the last two-weeks on trial at Premier League Portsmouth.
The 15-year-old was spotted by Pompey scouts during the Caribbean Youth Cup and was invited to England to try his luck.
The San Juan Jabloteh striker was pleased with how things went during his time on the South Coast.
"It was an amazing experience for me as a 15-year old getting that opportunity to train with a club like Portsmouth," Britto told TTFF Media.
"Amazing is the best word I can think of because it was the first time I attended a professional club like that and at first I trained with the Under 16s but then the coaches decided to put me with the Under 18s.
"At the moment their U18s are described as the best passing team in the youth league in England so it suited my game well.
"I had the chance to gain the knowledge as well as interact with the other players there.
"Of course they asked a lot about the football in Trinidad because of us playing in the World Cup last year and they also knew about the Under 17s going to Korea."
Britto revealed that Pompey could offer him a permanent deal in January when he returns for a second stint.
"Overall I had to be patient and do my best. They have asked me to come back for another trial in January, this time without my parents, and if things go well they could keep me with one of their youth teams," he said.

I said the same answer you asked in the Asian Forum
Cho's Strength is that he can net goals in the international level which is pretty useful kind of. If you don't give him enough playing time (at least 45 minutes) he can get really pissed off but i doubt he'll be complaining since he's in the best football league in the world. It would be a great signing since like i said Utaka will be gone for the African Cup and he can fill in for him.

Cheers for the info mate.
Lens forward Razak Boukari has revealed that Portsmouth are interested in signing him.
The France Under 21 international has been linked with Pompey for some time, with Harry Redknapp understood to have sent scouts to watch him on a number of occasions.
Boukari has yet to establish himself in the Lens starting line-up and is inviting offers during the transfer window.
He claims he has a number of options but admits he is tempted to move to Fratton Park.
"Portsmouth are interested in me. They are a possibility for me," Boukari said in the News of the World.
"I want to leave Lens. I'm not happy at continually being a substitute - I need to play regularly to make progress.
"We expect to find a solution soon."
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11674_3026168,00.htmlPortsmouth are reportedly close to signing South Korean striker Cho Jae-jin.
According to Korean news wire Sports Chosun, the 26 year-old is set to talk to Portsmouth officials in the next few days after both parties agreed on a transfer fee.
With John Utaka and Nwankwo Kanu away on international duty at the African Cup of Nations this month, manager Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his striking options and sees Cho as the ideal replacement.
Reports indicate the former Shimizu S-Pulse star is seeking a long-term contract, but Redknapp may prefer a short-term deal with an option for the player to stay at Fratton Park if he impresses.
Cho was widely tipped to join Pompey's Premiership rivals Newcastle United this transfer window, but the Magpies decided to pull out of the deal for undisclosed reasons.

Danijel Subotic has become Portsmouth's first signing of the transfer window.
Pompey have paid an undisclosed compensation fee to Swiss side Basel for the services of the striker, who joins on a three-and-a-half year contract.
The highly-rated 18-year-old impressed during a recent trial at Fratton Park and Harry Redknapp believes he has a bright future ahead of him.
"He was recommended to us so we brought him over for a few days' training and he did well," Redknapp told the club's official website.
"We've taken a gamble on him and hopefully he's one for the future.
"We'll just have to see how he goes."
Portsmouth have lost John Utaka, Kanu, Sulley Muntari and Papa Bouba Diop to the African Nations Cup and Redknapp plans to do more business over the coming weeks.
"We need to get some people in but it's hard," he said.
"You look around and who is going to loan you anybody? The only place you might find a few is abroad.
"We need to strengthen out wide and up front in particular."

Tiago is likely to attract interest from many clubs, and it seems like Defoe is only intrerested in a move to one of the 'big four'.
I don't know what budget Harry has, but the squad really does need strengthening.

I dunno how realistic the move for Tiago is. His situation with Juve is really odd. He is slowly coming good there now....a bit faster than Almiron, their other midfield signing, and is showing signs that he may become a top central midfielder for them. His form has shown such promising signs of improvement, there are rumors Juve may call off their seemingly neverending chase for Sissoko!

Portsmouth have made a move for Lyon's Milan Baros, his agent has revealed.
Harry Redknapp is desperate to bolster his squad and would like to sign Baros, along with his former Liverpool and Czech international team-mate Patrik Berger.
Baros has had a tough time at Lyon under, coincidentally, former Pompey boss Alain Perrin and he was left out of the side which lost at Lens on Sunday.
Baros had seemed set to remain at the Stade Gerland, but with Brazilian Fred now looking set to stay, it appears the chances of him leaving have increased greatly.
Portsmouth were one of the clubs looking at Fred, but Redknapp has now turned his attention to Baros, and his agent Pavel Paska claims an offer has been lodged.
Offer
"I have already given the official offer of Portsmouth to Lyon's management," Pavel Paska told Czech daily Sport.
"Their coach Harry Redknapp has an eminent interest in Milan."
Paska has already revealed Redknapp's interest in Berger and he admits his two charges could both end up on the South Coast.
"At Portsmouth he could rejoin with Patrik Berger who should move there from Aston Villa," Paska continued.
"Harry Redknapp was a fan of Patrik Berger in the past. He trusts Czech players - that is why he would like to bet on Milan."
Paska went into more detail about Berger's possible return to Pompey - where he played for two seasons before joining Villa.
"It is Patrik whom Redknapp would like to see at Portsmouth now in January," he said.
"He runs out of contract at Aston Villa in the summer. I have already discussed it with Villa manager Martin O'Neill and so far he has not been too excited about it. We will continue in talks."

POMPEY IN LATE BID FOR DEFOE
Defoe - linked with PompeyPortsmouth have reportedly launched a late bid to sign Tottenham's Jermain Defoe.
The Daily Mirror reports that Harry Redknapp put in a £9million bid for the striker on Wednesday night. The news comes after Manchester City reportedly made a bid for Portmouth's top goal scorer Benjani.
Defoe has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane throughout the transfer window after spending most of the season sitting on the bench. It is reported that Redknapp and Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie spent most of Wednesday trying to agree a fee with Spurs.
Long term Portsmouth target Defoe, who remained on the bench for Tottenham's match against Everton, could be on his way to first team football should Benjani make the switch up to Eastlands in a deal that is supposedly worth £6.5 million.
City are desperate to land a striker before the transfer window shuts and Benjani would be an ideal candidate to walk straight into Sven Goran Eriksson's side.

I wouldnt say he doesnt care about the game, but he certianly is no team player and prefers the limelight to team progress. Its the reason why he and Robbie Keane have never been able to link up. Defoe does not pass to a player of similar style, ie a small forward, for whatever reason. I hate that kind of "Me! Me! Me!" attitude he seems to have on the pitch.

Pompey try to revive Benjani sale to City
Harry Redknapp has hinted Portsmouth are attempting to push through a late deal to sell striker Benjani Mwaruwari to Manchester City.
Reports this morning claim the Premier League are examining the paperwork of the 29-year-old's proposed move from Fratton Park after City missed last night's midnight deadline for completing the transfer.
Pompey boss Redknapp remains in the dark as to why City failed to file all the necessary paperwork on time but revealed chief executive Peter Storrie was in discussions with the Premier League this morning.
'Man City sent half the forms off and I'm not sure where it went from there,' Redknapp told BBC Radio Five Live.
'I know that Peter Storrie was told that the deal was done.
'Peter's on the case this morning with the Premier League, seeing where we go with it.'
Redknapp admitted failing to sell Benjani would leave Portsmouth out of pocket because they were hoping to recoup some of the reported £7million spent signing Jermain Defoe from Tottenham last night.
'If `Benj' is back then we'll have to see where we go with that one,' Redknapp said.
'He's a good player and we didn't want to lose him. But we just needed to balance the books with him going and Defoe coming.'

Despite being our top scorer this season, Benjani is not a goalscorer, he has improved massively but we use him more of a target man
He is very fast and very strong, but he doesn't have the abilty that Defoe has. Pompey fans love Benjani and we don't want to see him leave, but we wouldn't have the money for Defoe in this transfer window without selling Benjani, and to get £9 million for Benjnai is an incredible price.
The deal apparently didn't go through in time, it would be great if Benjani stayed, but it is being reviewed so it still might go ahead.

I would do everything in my power, between now and the end of the season, to find someone to offload Nugent on to if they need cash. Benjani and defoe is a potentially brilliant partnership up front. When Defoe is moody and off form, Benj will still be chasing everything that moves and when Defoe IS on form, he would suit playing alongside the Zimbabwean if you ask me. Dont sell Benj would be my advice, but I'm sure 'Arry and Storrie know what they are doing!

Kranjcar has ben linked with a move to Arsenal for a while now, £15 millionn has been the latest fee that Arsenal may bid for him. Thats a lot of money, but I would still rather we kept hold of him.
Players we have been linked with.
Per Mertesacker - An unlikely signing, is considred one of the best young defenders around, and has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
John Mensah - A typical Redkanpp player, strong, fast and athletic. A very solid defender and has said he would be inerested in a move to us. There are rumours that Campbell could be leaving, Mensah could be a great replacement and form a powerfull partnership with Distin.
Peter Crouch - Redknapp rates Crouch, could form a very good strikeforce with Defoe, would give us the optin of a 4-4-2 formation, or a 4-5-1 using Crouch as a target man.
Lisandro Lopez - Another unlikely signing, a top quality player who is likely to want champions league football.
I think we should be looking at some top quality players, some names I would like us to sign.
John Mensah ( Rennes )
Taye Taiwo ( Olympique de Marseille )
Wayne Bridge ( Chelsea )
Ryan Nelsen ( Blackburn )
Jonas Gutierrez ( Mallorca )
Andres D'alessandro ( San Lorenzo de Almagro )
Darijo Srna ( Shakhtar Donetsk )
Luis Valencia ( Wigan )
Yossi Benayoun ( Liverpool )
Shaun Wright-Phillips ( Chelsea )
Andrei Arshavin ( Zenit St. Petersburg )
Peter Crouch ( Liverpool )
Daniel Guiza ( Mallorca )
Jefferson Farfan ( PSV Eindhoven )
Lisandro Lopez ( FC Porto )
Some of them names are unlikey to join us, but I think we should be trying to sign some top quality players, the Premier league is going to be even more competitive next season.

Harry Redknapp is braced to lose Sean Davis and Pedro Mendes this summer, although he admits he would rather keep both players.
Portsmouth’s rapid progression as a club could end in FA Cup glory in May, but with progress comes tough decisions – and Redknapps knows he has a few to make.
Davis, Pedro Mendes, David Nugent and Richard Hughes have all become bit-part figures at Fratton Park, with Davis only 12 months away from his contract expiry date.
Redknapp knows he cannot expect players to settle for fringe roles, and he admitted the needs of the club will always colour his judgement more than his loyalty to a certain player.
"With Sean, we are looking at the end of the year to see what he wants to do with his contract. As for Pedro, I like him, I have no problems with him," Redknapp told The News.
"But it's like everything in football, you bring people in to strengthen your team and your squad. I want to keep improving the team and that's what I have done. It's nothing personal.
"We have got no-one I want to get rid of. There are no players I wish we didn't have here. They are all good players.
"You don't want to get rid of them but it depends if they get better offers and how good the clubs are who want to take them.
"Look at David James. I thought he was a better goalkeeper than Dean Kiely. I know it upset Dean but you can't fault Jamo since he came in.
"I bought in Glen Johnson and Sylvain (Distin) this season, the year before I brought in Sol (Campbell). They've all improved our side.”
Meanwhile, Redknapp has revealed Jimmy Bullard will not be one of the men charged with the task of improving Pompey next season.

I did not know that about Farfan. saying that, he had a sensational season this year and, with all due respect, he may have loftier ambitions now than Pompey regardless of your ambition! Saying that, with harry and transfers, i wouldnt be surprised if he snatched Ronaldinho from under Milans noses before the season starts!

As for the Kranjcar/D'Allesandro issue, well, they both are centrl playmakers rather than wingers really, so no matter which wing you play them on they are out of position if you know what i mean, do they both obviously favour the left.
Saying that, wasnt it off the right wing that Andres scored that absolute screamer against Charlton? I think the pair of them are flexible enough to move around, the only problem is that they might make your side very narrow with both of them floating inside the off the wings!

Farfan has actually had a pretty poor season, as far as I know, but it hasn't really been all his fault, but I doubt whether the big clubs will really go for him.
He has been put out on the wing for most games, not his natural position, and his form has suffered because of it and he has really had an up and down season.
He is still only 23 and it would be a great time to sign him.

Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi is understood to be in England holding transfer talks.
Dreossi is meeting Portsmouth to primarily discuss a permanent deal for Djimi Traore - who has spent the last season on loan in Brittany.
Even though Traore has recently picked up an ankle injury, Rennes are ready to push through their option on him.
But Dreossi is also negotiating player sales, with John Mensah's future at the top of his agenda.
Portsmouth are at the front of the queue for the Ghanaian ace and will use their meeting to talk to Dreossi about him also; indeed Traore could be used in a deal to land Mensah according to reports in France.
Dreossi is also rumoured to be meeting Everton this week after they enquired about Cameroonian midfielder Stephane M'bia.
The highly-rated 21-year-old has attracted attention from Barcelona, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City in recent weeks, but it is Everton who are believed to have made an approach.

The Fratton Park club are determined to build on an encouraging season which has seen manager Harry Redknapp lead Pompey to the FA Cup final and seventh spot in the Premier League.
Redknapp will be given money to spend to improve his squad in the summer and has already been linked with the likes of Peter Crouch and John Mensah.
Pompey chief executive Storrie has put plans in place for the new arrivals and is confident they will be 'quality' additions.
"I think the squad is strong at the moment, but I think of the current squad we are probably looking at bringing in another three," Storrie told The News.
Only want quality
"One or two may want to go. That tends to happen when people are not in the team regularly, so obviously there could be more than that if others leave.
"But we are looking at three and have already been working on a few - you'll hear all about those in the summer.
"These are big names. We're bringing in only quality players now.
"We are a quality side, we are a top-10 side, so it's only going to be quality people coming in.
"It's important we keep strengthening what is already an excellent squad so we can continue progressing.
"And that means bringing in even more quality players."

Another player we have been linked with is Jimmy Briand.

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is believed to be keeping tabs on Borrussia Dortmund striker Alexander Frei.
It is believed that the South Coast club have had scouts keeping tabs in the 28 year old in recent weeks as Redknapp weighs up a summer bid.
Frei is just three goals away from being the all time top Swiss goalscorer, with 32 goals in 56 International appearances.
