I don't like the home kit much, at all. The collars are ugly. I'll probably get the away one next year, or maybe the home will grow on me.
Saw these on Chelsea Forum so I thought I'd post them in here. Credit to Gronkjaer30 aka Dean!

I agree although I think the black shirt is horrible too. I think there is a very cheap and plain look to all the Adidas shirts shown so far. Take the sponsor away from the yellow shirt and you have the Sweden WC2002 Adidas home shirt.

The home kit is the only original-si hone (it still looks like Pompey..) and it is horrific. The away and 3rd are, like Treble said, un-original kits with the Chelsea logo.

isnt the sponsor meant to be samsung mobile, not just samsung?
gman19
Feb 19 2008, 06:12 AM
From what it appears Samsung is dropping the mobile part like Siemens did a couple of years ago, probably to broaden their overall market.
As for the shirts, the home looks kinda cool, I'm really liking the away (looks like some of their previous away's before) and the black is just too plain for me. If I had to choose out of the three I'd probably get the away.

Stupid Adidas forces Panathinaikos to add the three stripes in the sleeves for their centenary kit despite the fact that the initial design did not have any stripes since it was a kit based on Panathinaikos kit of the 1971 when the greek giants reached the Champions Cup final against Ajax!!!

Adidas' deal with Panathinaikos would have been for the domestic league only. Its a similar situation to Ajax who wear the strip without stripes in Holland, but when they play in Europe they wear the 3 stripes

Adidas is silly with putting the stripes everywhere, even if the rest of the design does not correspond at all. They should have a respect to the tradition, they will get the money regardless of stripes.

I don't know if anyone else knows this (I'm sure there's probably at least one of you!), but I was speaking to a Product Manager from Canterbury the other day, and he told me an interesting little fact about Nike/Umbro and Adidas/Reebok. Apparently over the next few seasons, both Nike and Adidas will only produce kits for their higher profile clubs, and then for all of the lower clubs who have their kits, they will be replaced with Umbro and Reebok respectively
I thought it was pretty cool

Yes it is common knowledge as already Adidas do this with Reebok. It is assumed the Nike is alos doing this as they planned to keep the Umbro brand name and not scrap it

When adidas' kits are "too busy," people complain. When they are plain, people complain. I guess what they should do to please people is to introduce the "retro" gimmick, which Nike has done to hide their lack of creativity, and everybody will automatically compliment the elegance of it.
Anyway, I like the Galaxy kit.

^ well you can't please everyone, it's nice though that kits do change from year to year, if you really don't like a kit just wait until next season, or see if it grows on you.
