I was actually thinking West Ham would have a sponsorless shirt , but they just covered it with a cloth of some kind .

There was no time to do anything as they decision was only made late Thursday so they would have no chance to make a new batch of shirts. They will probably have sponsorless shirt in around 2 weeks or so as it will take some time for umbro to make a new batch of shirts for them. Probably will only make non-sponsored shirts for the players until they have another sponsor. I think they plan to release another statement about their plans this coming week.

This year Sevilla is releasing 5 kits: 3 for league (usual white home kit, usual red away kits, and a black third kit) + 2 for UEFA (white with flags-home kit, the one Adriano is wearing, and blue with vertical flag-away kit)

The other kits in the photographs are GK kits (yes, ugly as hell!!!)

Too many kits, IMO. Sevilla's marketing deparment started to use the third kit years ago as it is supposed to be used: away kit in European competitions. Later, they started to release a special home kit also for European competition. And finally, last year they create an additional one for Europe, as this year: 5 kits!!! (however, the 3rd black kit is becoming the most-used GK kit, making just 4 in practice )

It could have been worse: in every final we play, a special kit is released, so in season 06/07 we had 7 kits!!! (1 Uefa SuperCup, 3 for Spanish League, 1 home for UEFA Cup, 1 for Uefa Cup final, and 1 for Copa del Rey Final). This can be disgusting for a part of supporters, but has translated into a huge increase in kits sellings, meaning a lot of extra money for the team.

This is easy to do for Sevilla as is Joma's main team (very-hard-to-break-contract, expiring 2010), and creates as many kits as the club ask. Of course, wearing Nike, Adidas or similar would make this impossible (personally, I would prefer only 3 kits per season). Adidas has been many times rumoured to be very interested in wearing Sevilla, we'll see in 2010.

Finally, Joma sometimes makes ugly kits (especially in Europe, too many flags, maybe), but in general the designs are not too bad, even great in ocassions (at least, they mean originality, not wearing the same pattern that a lot of teams). The main problem with them is kits' quality and the distribution (would be much easier to sell kits out of Spain with Nike, for example).

the jersey itself, not the writing, looks photshopped, but oh well, they dont need an American/canadien flag. cardiff doesnt have a welsh flag on their kit and man u doesnt have the english flag. I understand Pumas or America kit has the mexico flag but that is incorperated in their logo

Yeah, I saw the black 3rd shirt today with the Spanish flag on in JJB Sports. I was intrueged.

Not sure. Possibly a decision made by Real or the Spanish FA to place the flag on the UCL shirt as they are Spanish champions. It is obviously not a UEFA directive as if it was all clubs in the UCL would have it.

Is purely a a Real Madrid decission. Has no official meaning like Scudetto, it's doen't mean being La Liga champion. Officially, and translating RMadrid president words, it's to "increase te compromise and representivity in our country (Spain), where our fans are a bigger group that fans from any other team". Also, it's becoming very usual in spanish teams to have a flag in their european kit (even in their domestic team): it started with Barcelona wearing Catalonia flag, later Sevilla started to include Spanish flag in their kit designs, 07/08 Atletico kit include Spanish flag behind the neck both in La Liga and in Uefa, and finally last season Real decided to do the same. However, they decided it in September 2007, and Adidas wasn't able to include the flag in the already designed and released shirts, so it had to wait until this year.

If you see La Liga games, there are many teams wearing it, a little flag in the neck (both national and region flags, in some cases).

ah, okay. still interesting to see them do that (which includes quite a lot of steps, time consuming, people to do it) instead of just switching the shirts. but than - how many have they sold with XL on? probably a lot.

The shade of green on that Seattle Sounders top really isn't too nice, it looks like a Sunday league team who couldn't afford/find a nice set of teamwear. It works ok on the away when its minimal, but they should have made it a more brighter (never thought I'd hear myself say this) Celtic-like green.
