Lassana:

How do you think the partnership will go? They are very similar in terms of that they are "targetmen" and they don't create goals of each other, they will depend on midfield for creating chances. Klose is more creative than Toni, and can rack up a good amount of assists, however he is considered a targetman by many. Will this pair work or will it rethinking?

ForcaFigo7:

As far as I think Klose is also pretty good with assists. You could see it with Bremen and with the WC aswell. He has an eye for the people in a better position than he is. Toni is one of the "Ruud" kind of players, he hangs around the goal and just waits for his chance.
I do think they can work together really well. But if Poldi is fit and in a scoring mood, we know he works well with Klose aswell. I just hope he gets his chance aswell.

I think it is a leathal combination up the front for Bayern. I just hope Toni does not start diving too much. He will be disliked veeery soon if he does.

right. toni is really more of a poacher. and yes klose isn't an in-the-hole striker, but i've definitely seen him set up some goals. i don't even need to tell you guys about klose and poldi.

i too hope toni doesn't dive too much. that would suck.

Pupesh:

Poldi sux, really :/ I maybe a Bayern fan but still O_O Poldi is worse than Ismael in 2005-06, dont know why he has so many fans from two goals for the German NT...Toni-Klose is really a great attacking pare for Bayern, because last season it was all Brazzo & Sagnol kicking the ball towards the box and Maka just couldn't do anything about it, he just wasnt that kind of player.

Firstly welcome to Soccerpulse. And secondly, surely Poldi can't be worse than Ismael 05-06. I mean sure he hasn't set the world on flames with his performances. But after he goes a few months inury-free, builds some confidence and starts starting scoring we will see the Podolski that plays for Germany (aka Goal Machine). He will adapt to Bayern sooner or later, he'll have to

------------------

googlecom:

This partnership can work well,Klose is very mobile. He fights for every ball and has plenty of assists in the last 3 years.
If not switching to 4-2-3-1 is a good possibility.I liked the way the team played in the
league cup.
Toni and Klose are the options for the lone striker and Schweinsteiger,Ribery,Podolski,
Sosa,Altintop and Schlaudraff for the 3 spots in offensive midfield

agree here. tough i would not call him goal machine, he will adapt with bayern. i think one of the main reasons was magath for sure. he just never gave him the chance. if he would have had more team playing time, he could have been up front with klose alone. and no need for toni.

also agree on the diving part. italians are not the germans most fave players atm,

-----------------

kyynaama:

I am really waiting to see this partnership in action. I believe it can be a huge success. Both the players are big and strong and hard to defend in the penaltybox. With the wingers like Schweinsteiger, Ribery... and also great wingbacks, there will be a lot of crossing in the box and these guys really can dominate in the air. I can´t wait for the season to start...

saba:

hi how are u? i'm new here and i think that somebody of you wrote last day in soccergaming.com and you told about this forum. since some weeks i can't enter in soccergaming so i will be here and in bigsoccer too. away i'm xevi but i couldn't enter in this forum with my name so i'll be saba as the defender in bayern II. he's 29 but well... ah and i'm from catalunya (spain).

about klose and toni i think that they will have success. I couldn't believe when the rumours said bayern would sign both. we saw 3 or 4 matches against amater teams and they had connection. in any case i hope podolski plays soon and he scores because toni is 30, klose 29 and podolski 22 so i hope podolski be starter. should be our future. he should adapt soon.

-------------------

PazzaInter:

I fail to see how a Toni-Klose partnership can turn into failure.

----------------

ForzaItalia2006:

Actually Toni had about 4 assists in league games last season (compared to Klose's 8) but he creates a lot of chances. Toni is not a diver, Toni gets tackled pretty hard a lot. He's a big guy and people go after him A LOT.

He does tend to "dramatize" a bit, but for god's sake everyone is after his knees!!! I am completely against diving, but I am also against hard tackles that the ref lets go. At some point a player has to protect themselves.

-------------------

PazzaInter:

Diver? Toni is not known to dive, i'm not saying he never has but i cant ever recall Toni diving.

----------------

RockinRaul:

if klose creats some assist for toni and toni does some back, i would be happy. tbh, if toni does not have one single assist but lots of goals on his list at the end, i am okay... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

The alleged diver was Grosso, not Toni. And for crying out loud, it wasn't a dive!!! Read FIFA law 12...."trips or attempts to trip" and also go on youtube..there are good videos that slow it down from the perfect angle that show why it was indeed a PK.

Toni is a guaranteed 15 goals unless he's having a horrible season...Klose about the same...you guys can't go wrong here.

-------------------

klose and toni in the german league? how could it fail? both are world class strikers who should compliment each other in the assistment department. the only way the partnership can fail in my view is if one has a terrible injury which is highly unlikely. i'm predicting 40-50 goals between them this season.

----------------

and now we can go on and hail the great partnership between klose and toni... when i raed some of the things i said... oh boy... well, i´d say they are a massive striking force, the best in germany and i can´t wait to see more!

Same here! sad.gif

Anyway, nice to see this topic back up and running as well. Klose and Toni, I wasnt sure if I could ever see them not working. They could have played a number of ways...ie typical big man small man partnership, or the way they play now. Just as a pair of schemers who know what is involved in the making and scoring of a goal. They are more intelligent and skillful than people give them credit for and are more than just pure goalscorers. And its been proved with not to far off 20 goals between them in about the same amount of games each.

well, haha, yeah, mhm, i guess you did. hm. let me think. yeah, probably. well, let me put it that way... if anyone other than alex or myself would actually move their asses to even try and get some threads back *i mean, hello, people can read my sig, right?* then maybe we would get more back than just the few shit that i could find, spending time to actually look for the missing thread. i would also enjoy it if they would just magically appear back in full length, but that actually does take some action. and since nobody... let me check again... yes, nobody other than alex, glow, jess and myself did anything to try and restore the german section, i would actually not be surprised if the threads are not all fully coming back. i did not see anyone trying to get this thread back, and now that it is, complains are what i read.

thats rather funny. well, why do i care? shrug03.gif i will just lean back, with the rest and see if the 2nd buliga thread will reappear. i posted there too. so did others. i wonder if someone will spend some energy to get that one back.

i am off

Good call Daniel. Not everyone will like it but this was burning under your nails and needed to be said.
Good on you!

As for DL and UL, I think he didn't mean to have a go at you, it was more of a general statement.

Back to topic:
Goals have been hard to come by for Klose and Toni lately, unlike earlier this season.
They better show up in the 3 remaining games before the winter break because their goals will be well needed.
RockinRaul

looks like the hype is over at the moment. neither of the two seem to be doing anything lately. i thinks it about time that they get going again! if i am not mistaken ribery scored the last goal and he seemed pretty pissed off because of what the fans were singing.

but anyway, i guess klose or toni should start banging the goals back, other wise the people will say "oh they were just a onehit wonder" which would be a shame

All strikers go through quiet spells. It was bound to happen. Bayern are still top of the league even despite their draw with Duisburg. Top of the ladder is where it matters. Its not about individual performances.

What were the fans singing at Ribery to piss him off?

No worries! Probably wasnt the wisest time after you put in a ton of effort! thumbsup.gif
RockinRaul
well, sadly i have no idea what the sang. i just read that they sang in german, but ribery understood so he did the "shhhh" gesture towards them. even klose told him right after the goal that he should not do it, but he said it felt too good. i wonder what they sang... g.gif

EDIT:

ahhh, now i saw it. he did not do the "shhh" gesture, he did the "blablabla" gesture... *how the hell should i explain that? wacko.gif *

well, watch for yourself laugh.gif

clicky clicky
Pupesh
They were singing something like "Ribery is shit, we don't need him, we have "someone, I don't remember who"!" laugh.gif
RockinRaul
and they got owend! YAY!

ribery can´t be on to 24/7. neither can klose or toni. but calling that partnership a failure now would be simply idiotic. i really hope toni scores a beauty next game!

Why were they singing that? Being a flair player of Riberys style, he is going to go through games where he wont be on it! How is getting on his back like that supposed to get the team back on form?

I just realized the total irony of my post as he did this to score a winner while they chanted this at him! So clearly its really effective laugh.gif
Pupesh
Your post is kinda too complicated for me, those were the Arminia fans, of course wacko.gif

Ribery is the only one of the three thats actually putting some effort into the game...
Toni...wow, how did he manage to turn into such crap in a few weeks? sad.gif
RockinRaul
such crap?

watch that pass...

Pupesh
Yeah but when was the last time he scored? Against Stuttgart if im not mistaken? dry.gif
Haven't seen him even make a shot on goal since then...
Actually that's not that long ago, but still, against Stuttgart, Gladbach...those are his only goals in about 10 matches...
RockinRaul
oh come on, stay fair. he is actually still one of the top three:

1 Klose, Miroslav Bayern München 14 9
1 Toni, Luca Bayern München 15 9
1 van der Vaart, Rafael Hamburg 13 9

so no need to worry yet! he will be back soon enough, i have the feeling. plus, i have to say that bayern as a whole just does not play very impressive football. i don´t know. its like they have a mini crisis again. toni is just one of them. why doesn´t anyone bash klose up? he did not score for a while aswell...
Pupesh
Well he scored against Wolfsburg and Braga, besides, he doesn't talk crap like Toni has in recent weeks - there was ugly atmosphere, he doesn't want to play like this...
Why doesn't Ribery talk like that? Actually he's been saying that he loves life in Munich and enjoys his stay at the club...
He's one of my favourites, but right now it's obvious for me that he is crap... sad.gif
RockinRaul
oh you mean like when ribery said that he does not feel good at bayern anymore and would like to leave, just because his buddy sagnol wants to leave...

anyway, next week he will be scoring goals and everybody loves him again. wink.gif
Pupesh
Wow, I'm surprised he said that, since he said that his real buddy is Van Buyten and not Sagnol.
If Toni scores next week I will personally write: "I LOVE YOU LUCA!!!!!", but then again if he doesn't I will be forced to say bad stuff about him sad.gif

Gentleman, Luca Toni is talking shit!!!

I just read in the newspapers (for some reason I can't find the article anywhere in internet) some quotes of Luca Toni.

The article is entitled: "Everyone is unhappy at Bayern"

It says Luca Toni has made two very different declarations in the space of three days.

He initially said that he wants to stay at Bayern, and the next day he said that he can't stay at an 'ugly' atmosphere in Bayern.

The report says Luca is ready to leave.

Again, it quotes Luca saying that 'to be a player of Bayern those days is hard, it looks like here no one is sincere and there are no sincere relations between people, that live for Bayern.

English media are saying that Arsenal and Tottenham are ready to pay Bayern big cash Bayern to secure the services of the supposedly 'unsettled' Italian.

This was some time ago though, let's see where it will go..
RockinRaul

IT should be podolski and klose partnering and toni goes back to some italian team.
morientesfan910
im glad we bring up a thread some months old
Pupesh
Hmm why? Imo it should be Toni + Podolski/Schaudraff(he should finally be given c chance, why did we buy him?!), since Klose is shit and Toni is on fire.
I expect Toni and Poldi starting against Getafe, not too sure who will partner with Ribery, I would like to see Sosa...

haha I sorted did.

Anyway, at the beginning of the season both players were right up there and for a moment I thought Klose might even edge out Toni in the end, but now Toni has shot beyond Klose in his goal tally. What's going on with Miroslav these days shrug03.gif
Pupesh
they're both crap right now... and Podolski is crap himself, I don't really see why he was so hyped, I would have had a hattrick tonight with so many easy chances.
And again, has Hitzfeld even heard of the boy named Schlaudraff that is on our team???
urbanlegend
Toni is crap?

He scored against Getafe, no?

And still is in the top 2 scorers in the Bundesliga..
Besarbi
Tony crap laugh.gif
Pupesh
Lol, did you see how many chances he missed against Getafe? Did you watch the match against Nurnberg?
And please, dont go into arguing, since Toni is still one of my favorite players but his last 2 matches were embarrassing sad.gif And yeah i know 2 matches is too short but still...
urbanlegend
No one is arguing, but to label the guy crap?
letigre
toni is great, everybody/anybody can have crap times, look at ronaldinho... (ok no need to go gloating and hating ronnie if you do...)

i haven't seen the performance you talk about but i have seem toni before.. and maaan..

i have no reason to dislike klose either.. too bad for him and BM if he can't perform.. dry.gif

Pupesh
lol thats why i said right now o.O
hes been amazing this season, but RIGHT NOW he is crap, or ok - not in form, mostly because he's tired, i have no idea why he played against bochum
Zayne
Well Toni has cemented his place as arguably the best striker in the league, while Klose is currently struggeling, though he has 15 or so goals to his name and a lot of assists, don't have the numbers right now. I think he's just the victim of the system as most of the attacking play revolves around Toni.
