Polga: "Temos de ser fortes em todos os sentidos"

Em conferência de Imprensa, realizada na Academia Sporting/Puma, Anderson Polga fez a antevisão do jogo a contar para a Taça de Portugal, com o Louletano, a realizar no Estádio José Alvalade (sábado às 17h00).

O defesa central brasileiro acredita que será um jogo difícil, como todos os outros e afirmou que não pode haver erros, uma vez que é uma competição a eliminar. "Com a experiência que temos contra este tipo de adversários, sabemos que temos de fazer as coisas com calma, sem ansiedade. Eles vão marcar muito forte, por isso temos de entrar muito concentrados e aproveitar as oportunidades que criarmos. Temos de ser fortes em todos os sentidos. Jogamos em Alvalade, perante os nossos adeptos. Se fizermos as coisas certas desde o início, os aplausos vão surgir. Nós nunca deitaremos a toalha ao chão. Continuem a apoiar-nos que a resposta virá", disse o brasileiro em jeito de repto aos adeptos «leoninos».

Em relação à crise de resultados, Polga considerou que o maior problema tem sido a falta de sorte, uma vez que "os golos que temos sofrido, raramente acontecem e, quando se sofre golos assim, é mais difícil reagir".

O único campeão do Mundo a actuar em Portugal falou ainda da situação vivida no balneário e do apoio dado pelo presidente, Filipe Soares Franco: "No balneário todos falam, independentemente de ser ou não o capitão. A reacção tem de partir de todos. Todos falam, todos comunicam. O presidente disse-nos aquilo que nos tem dito sempre, ou seja, que nos sintamos à vontade e que cada um faça o seu melhor. O clube precisa de resultados e, neste momento, uma cobrança é sempre bem vinda".

Who is saying that? so in your case you should never blame the defence because thats pretty much what your saying.

Ronny sucks ass. Your defenders can't do jack shit in defending set pieces. Their marking are in a average level etc. Is that enough reasons?

This is the same defense (minus Caneira who everyone here says sucks and Tello who was a two way player more then a defensive star) that allowed the fewest goals in Portugal last year.... Tonel and Polga are solid in the middle...Veloso does a nice job up front... I dont see them giving up a bunch of scoring chances every game so how can they be bad?

We are giving up less then a goal a game and take away a few comical attepts at being a goalie and we would only be behind porto in goals against...... If you want to blame the goalie then fine but the defense has been decent IMO

And you wanna know why? Ricardo was there. People criticize him, but now that he's gone you can easily see the effect he made.

Thats my opinion though.

But Sporting still needs to work on other things, like that game against Roma, they beat the defender with ease on every setpeice.

I still think he is a dodgy keeper. He's a good shot stopper but i always shit my pants wen a cros flys in when he plays for portugal. lol. I almost had a heart attack in our last game against finland when all them long balls were coming in near the end.
