Nice win for Sepahan! They were in control of the game and did not look like losing the game. Such a shame that they gave away the goal. WOuld have been great for their confidence if they had come out with a clean sheet at the end of that game.
3' [1 - 0] E. Ridah
4' [2 - 0] E. Ridah
47' [3 - 0] A. Abolheil
The goal that Waitakere United scored was a own goal, so technically they scored four goals in this game

but the site that I see the live score there said the goal scored by Darren Bazeley not like what you said. How ever the Iranian team was great in every thing.

So Urawa vs. Sepahan, replay of the Asian Champ League final. It'll be a doozie. I'm picking the Reds to take it out if we've got our key players fit

Not suprised that Urawa Reds won this game. Urawa had the better of Sepahan in the two legged champions league and this being a single elimination type game in Japan, they were the favourites. Good stuff, I think they can go all the way in this tournament and this will be awesome for asian footy.
Thanks for the goals mate
The Reds fans all out in full force again, despite the fact that the game was played in Nagoya (some two hours away from the Tokyo area). If nothing else, Reds will defo have a home advantage against Milan or any other team they play against.

Urawa beat Sepahan 3-1
TOYOTA, Japan: Japan's Urawa Reds repeated their excellent performance at the continental final by beating Iran's Sepahan 3-1 on Monday to set up a match against AC Milan in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals.
The opening goal came in the 32nd minute when midfielder Takahito Soma produced a cross from the left for Yuichiro Nagai, who fired home from close range.
In the 54th minute, Brazilian striker Washington got the ball in the area, then passed Sepahan goalkeeper Mohammad Savari and fired in a right-footer from close to the goal line.
Roared on by a partisan home crowd, Urawa controlled the game from the beginning and threatened the Sepahan goal repeatedly.
Another Brazilian Nene's shot was saved by Savari, while Makoto Hasebe's shot went over the bar in the 29th minute.
The visitors found their passes often interrupted by Urawa, but they had a good chance in the 26th minute with Abdul Wahab Abu Al Hail sending a pass to Emad Mohammed on the right.
Kabir Bello slid to the goal line, but he failed reach the ball.
In the 31st minute, Jaba Muhiri received a nice pass in the area, but he was beaten in a one-on-one against Urawa keeper Ryota Tsuzuki.
Sepahan continued to struggle to create a clear chance in the second half, with captain Mohamad Seyed Salehi and Hadi Jafari hitting a couple of desperate shots, too long and too blunt.
The game was put well beyond doubt in the 70th minute when Sepahan defender Aghily's headed clearance off Nagai's header went into his own goal.
Sepahan got a consolation when substitute forward Mahmoud Karimi saw his blunt shot get past Tzusuki and rolled into the net in the 80th minute.
In the AFC Chamions League final Urawa beat Sepahan 3-1 on aggregate over two legs.
Urawa will play European champions AC Milan of Italy in the semi-final at the Yokohama stadium on Thursday.

Time for more giant-killing I reckon. Barcelona and Liverpool surprised everyone by not winning the cup, I reckon The Reds can make us proud by putting one over Milan

I don't really understand how the tournament works, is there a reason why the Reds got paired with Milan? Or was it just random? Because logically and sensibly speaking, the team paired with the European champion you'd expect to get no further than the game against the Euro champs

The tournament looks like it's set up in a way that would pair the South American champs and the Euro champs in the Final. I guess they assume that the champions from other continents won't stand in the way of a SA-Euro match-up.
fwiw, whoever wins tomorrow will get to face Boca Juniors in the final.
C'mon the Reds!

This has honestly been a brilliant performance by Urawa. They've kept it tight at the back and have forced Milan to shoot from long range. Kaka is having to drop very, very deep to pick up the ball and that's been the highlight of the half. If Urawa can get a slightly more attacking outlook in the second half, they could actually end up beating Milan.

Sepahan will always be Urawa's bitches. Owned in the AFC, and owned again here.
Urawa doing very well against AC Milan, some of their players are even trying fancy flicks. Milan's midfield is too classy though, and as such they're dominating possession. It's only because of Gilardino's shit-ness that the game is still level.

Urawa can feel a tad bit hard done by this result because they played extremely well. Milan dominated the early parts of the second half but hen Urawa came at them full pelt and perhaps should have scored. Once Milan took the lead though, you just knew Urawa wouldn't find a way back.

Urawa go down fighting
Asian champions Urawa Red Diamonds went down fighting to Italian powerhouse AC Milan 1-0 in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final here on Thursday.
Brazilian striker Kaka, who won the prestigious French Ballon d'Or for the Player of the Year, produced a pin-point cross from the left for midfielder Clarence Seedorf's goal in the 68th minute.
The Japanese outfit had a couple of shots at goal in the initial stage but the European champions took control after 10 minutes with Andrea Pirlo firing a shot on a free kick, which keeper Ryota Tsuzuki dived to save.
Soon afterwards, skipper Massimo Ambrosini just missed a header from a left corner, and then Pirlo and Ambrosini failed to find the net, while Massimo Oddo lacked accuracy in his cross from the right.
Roared on by a partisan home crowd, Urawa fought back bravely before the break, but Takahito Soma's shots were too long and Keita Suzuki's shot from the edge of the area was saved by Brazilian keeper Dida.
The three-time Inter-Continental Cup winners dominated the second half, attacking the Japanese goal repeatedly with shots by Marek Jankulovski, Seedorf, Kaka and Alberto Gilardino.
And it was just a question of when the Italians would score the first goal.
In the final on Sunday, AC Milan will take on Boca Juniors of Argentina, the winners over Etoile Sahel of Tunisia on Wednesday.

i wanna see highlights of this game... sounds like Urawa played out of their skins.
Excellent effort.
It was always going to be tough for the Reds. They did their very best to keep themselves in the match, but like the match report said, it was only going to be a matter of when Milan would score. Still a fantastic effort from both the players and the fans, though.
They still have the third-place match to look forward to; it'll probably be a bit of a downer, but then again, Reds rarely play a match in front of a quiet crowd.

It was always going to be tough for the Urawa RED Diamonds. But we all can ay that they represented Asia really well. Earlier there used to be times where the standards of the teams from europe and asia were like really apart but that has changed. Urawa have proved that the gap has seriosly become smaller. Urawa had many chances of their own to win the game but couldnt convert them.

Urawa Reds finish third
Asian champions Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds defeated Etoile Sahel of Tunisia 4-2 on penalties to take third place in the FIFA Club World Cup here on Sunday.
Urawa goalkeeper Ryota Tsuzuki was the hero, stopping the opposition's first and fourth spot kicks, after the game had finished 2-2.
Etoile Sahel's defender Sabeur Frej had opened the scoring on five minutes but Urawa seized control of the game midway through the first half, and their Brazilian striker Washington equalised with a header in the 35th minute.
He then netted a free-kick in the 70th minute but the African champions never gave up and their efforts were rewarded when Chermiti equalised five minutes later.
Etoile Sahel then had the better chances with Mahdi Ben Dhifallah hitting several close efforts on target, but they failed to break the deadlock.
Meanwhile, European champions Italy’s AC Milan defeated Argentina’s Boca Juniors 4-2 to clinch the title.
Not a bad run at all for the Reds, finishing third in the world.

Okay, so this isn't exactly a great measure of the team's stature, but it was still an impressive showing for the team.
