Finally I bought myself the new Adidas Europass soccer ball. I bought it for 93 Euros.
Normal price is 115 Euros, but I always get 15% off rolleyes.gif

Pictures of the ball:

I hope you like it. I surely will.

Why would anyone pay €90 for a football that they are never going to use?

Indeed, I am a match ball collector. For the moment, I have 560 official balls in my collection.

It's a mixture of soccer balls, volley balls, basket balls,...

@myevergreen: where have you bought the ball?

He's located in China, so i believe he can get it at that price from a factory or whatever.
Anyway, faifaico on eBay is selling it at €66.00 excluding shipping. Link

You're kidding, right? I mean, you have 560 OFFICIAL balls (that did not come out right)?
Do you have any from the NBA (you said you had basket balls)?
And they are ALL official? Seriously, we could be talking about over five thousand dollars (USD) here!

Yes, they are all official match balls. Indeed, I have a official NBA Game Ball as well
You can find it on my weblog at the following location:

NBA Game Ball

It's in Dutch, but you can clearly see the picture.
When you go to the homepage of my blog (Homepage of my blog) and click "Ballen-verzameling" on the right side (under Categories), you can see the most recent balls in my collection.

I'm trying to put them all in my blog, but it will take some time.

Sometimes my fingers start to itch, but no, I don't use them. It's pure for collection purposes.

You can always come and see them, but I think it will be a long flight rolleyes.gif

I'm sorry, but I think the Europass is just ugly and stupid looking.

If I ever go near where you are, I will definitely try to go see your collection.
I you have not got it yet, you might be interested in this ball.
How many of your balls are match/game used?
I think we need to start a fake ball thread for checking if a ball on Ebay (or wherever). There is a thread for fake jerseys and one for fake boots, but there isn't one for balls.

I think about 60% of my collection are balls used in important matches.

The Pelias ball is indeed a very good ball, but I found the textures a bit wacky, so I didn't buy it. laugh.gif

It's a very good idea starting a new thread about fake or real match balls. I think I have the necessary know how.

When do we start?

Maybe I didn't explain too well :-)

By textures I mean the drawings on the ball.

Have any of the balls in your collection ever been used in a match/game?
I have a question. Are the balls used in actual football matches the same as the official match balls you can buy? Just wondering, because I know that the boots (and shirts, although shirts are not sold as "actual shirts that players wear", just "official replicas") that players wear are better than the stuff sold to the public.
Oh, about that fake ball thread thing, I think that you should start it. And, starting it now would be great! thumbsup.gif

60% of the balls in my collection have effectively been used during matches, for which I'm very proud off. And indeed the match balls being used are the balls you can buy in most of the respectable sporting goods outlets. The balls in my collection are definately NO replicas.

So always be carefull when you want to buy a good soccer ball. Replicas are made from cheaper materials like PVC. All match balls are made with high quality polyurethane, sometimes mixed with microfibres. This makes the ball much more softer.

Are all of those match used balls footballs?
Which ball are you most proud of?

The balls I'm the most proud of:
- match ball that was used between RSC Anderlecht and Real Murcia -> http://blog.iplsoft.com/?p=27
- match ball that was used by the Red Devils against Azerbeidzjan -> http://blog.iplsoft.com/?p=37
- match ball that was used by Eendracht Aalst against Willebroek Meerhof (number 1 against 2) -> http://blog.iplsoft.com/?p=52

The balls are used balls. So are 60% of the balls in my collection. That's what makes this collection very special to me.

Red Carbon
I bought the Euro Pass today at my local shop. I'm actually really impressed with it so far; the little dimples aren't as large as I expected, which is nice, and just from juggling it around in my house it seems grippier than the previous Teamgeist. Really, my only issue with that one was that it became very slippery when wet, so hopefully this ball perfects that wink.gif
Soju
I was wondering what the dimples I'm seeing in balls were for, is it to prevent slickness or just improve flight (like a golf ball)? That teamgeist ball became like a snooker ball in a cold rain.

There are no dimples on the Europass, but some sort of little dots, like a rugby ball.
This will improve grip for the goalkeeper. But I don't expect it will improve the accuracy in flight. But on the ground the ball will behave better. Especially on wet terrain.
canadianbeckham
Is this Roteiro ball the cheapest Roteiro ball that there is? Or is it a mid range ball like the Euro Pass Sala ball? It says Match ball Replica on it (but so does the Sala). It also says Replique on it, and I know that the Replique Teamgeist ball is the cheap replica that's only 20usd.
If it's a cheap ball, why does the seller say that it has an rrp of 50 pounds?

This ball is definately NOT a match ball. "Fifa Inspected" is mostly related with cheaper balls with PVC coating or very thin PU. Also the description is FALSE. He speaks of thermal-bonding, but this ball is hand stitched. So this is definately a LIE (I hope I spelled it right). The retail price he mentioned is not correct. The ball is cheaper. Ball should be about 15 Pounds.

So I think this ball is (or almost is) the cheapest Roteiro ball AND he tries to sell it for too great a price.
