Well, was hoping this would have been recovered by now, but not yet.....but here is some injury news on Dida from channel4.com
QUOTE
Dida adds to Milan concerns
Sunday 9 December, 2007
As Ronaldo continues to sit out Milan’s Club World Cup training sessions, Nelson Dida has also picked up an injury.
There are now few doubts that Il Fenomeno will not be able to play in the tournament in Japan, as for the fourth day on the trot he failed to take part in training due to a calf problem.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti has another concern to contend with, as today Dida was out of action after suffering from lumbago.
This is a recurring problem for the Brazilian goalkeeper and Zeljko Kalac is on stand-by should he fail to recover in time for the semi-final.
The good news for Ancelotti is that Emerson and Marek Jankulovski have fully recovered from their injuries and are available.
This week Milan have been on a staggered training schedule as they adapt to the time difference in Yokohama, but from Monday they return to a normal set of two sessions per day.
The preliminary rounds of the Club World Cup are in full swing and there has already been a surprise, as Tunisians Etoile eliminated Mexican favourites Pachuca 1-0.
The Central Americans hit the crossbar with Gimenez in the first half and Balbouli denied Caballero, but just as extra time was looming Ogunbiyi Ola held up the ball for Narry’s daisy-cutter.
Etoile will go on to face Boca Juniors in the semi-final on Wednesday.
Just for the less medically informed amongst us (I had to look it up too)

What is Lumbago?
Lumbago is the term used to describe general lower back pain. The exact cause of the lumbago/back pain is often unknown. The back pain can come on after lifting things, or overuse (see weak back) or it may come on without previous exercise or training.
Symptoms include:
* Pain in the lower back which does not radiate down the legs.
* Stiffness in the back especially in the morning.
* A poor posture or 'S' shape in the spine (scoliosis).

Now Kaka is also injured? For the next game, Milan could play with Seedorf as striker and Brocchi and Emerson as attacking mids. As Gourcuff won't play of course, even if he's the last footballer on the earth.

Ya, Seedorf after his public fucking hissy fit in Florence...behaving like you would expect Pato to act being only 18....not a guy with 4 fucking CL titles. I'm still pissed off with his public primmadonna tantrum.
As for Gourcuff, of course he will play now, and he will probably play poorly seeing as the he will be expected to do the job of the best player on the planet....which is NOT his game.

Most definitely he would have started him. The kid has 4 goals in 6 games and we look a far better outfit with him spearheading our attack. Plus, 2 of the players you mentioned there arent even fit, so it would pretty much have just been Pato and/or Gila depending on tactics

Kaka Could Be Out For Four Months With Knee Problem
Milan superstar Kaka may be forced to sit out of action for four months in order to cure a chronic knee problem, according to the Corriere dello Sport.
The European and World Footballer of the Year has been playing with a niggling sensation in his knee for quite some time now, but the problem has worsened in recent weeks.
This has been a factor in Kaka’s under-par performances of late, and the pain was said to be so bad in Sunday night’s 1-0 win over Fiorentina that the player was forced to come off in the closing stages.
The 25-year-old has pulled out of Brazil’s international squad and has been replaced by Werder Bremen’s Diego.
Kaka is now a doubt for this Sunday’s game with Siena, possibly leaving Milan without a forward of any description, as Alberto Gilardino is suspended and Alexandre Pato, Ronaldo and Filippo Inzaghi injured.
In order to clear up the injury, Kaka may be forced to sit out of action for four months, which would surely be an irreparable blow to Milan.
Rossoneri doctor Pierre Meersseman is less concerned about the problem however, and does not believe that a spell on the sidelines is required.
"This is nothing serious,” he told Milan Channel.
“For a couple of years he has been living with this discomfort in his knee.
“Before and after training and matches, Kakà undergoes physiotherapy exercises that make it better. Even if he has four to five months rest, there is no guarantee the problem will pass.”

QUOTE
FINALLY I'M FINE!
2/6/2008 4:23:00 PM
On the day that training resumed at Milanello, Marek Jankulovksi spoke durign the press conference: on his condition, on the match against Siena and on the good moment of Milan - THE PRESS CONFERENCE -
MILANELLO - These are the declarations of Marek Jankulovksi during the press conference which was held today at the Rossoneri's sports centre of Milanello:
ON HIS CONDITION:
"I'm finally fine, I just feel some minor annoyance to my knee which suffered the operation, but now I'm fully available for the coach. I thought I was ready to go on the pitch before, but these small annoyances did not allow me to. My objective was that of being able to take parti n the Club World Cup because it's not a competition which occurs offur to take part in, therefore I tried to recover quickly and maybe that's why I also felt a bit of annoyance.
"Personally I hope to be able for the coach on Sunday against Siena, but we must still see how the trainings will go.
"My team-mates, Paolo and Beppe, are still playing very well and it's better for us if with my return there are a lot of us.
"Maybe this operation can influence me psychologically because it's the first time that I face such an important operation and therefore I don't know how to react, but I beleive that also with this small annoyance I can still play, then we shall see my conditions the following day."
ON A POSSIBLE ARRIVAL OF ZAMBROTTA WITH THE ROSSONERI.
"If a player of the calibre of Zambrotta should arrive, I would be very happy because he is the best wing-back in the world, he is able to play both on the right and on the left hand side and also if the competition increase, I am happy because the games are always a lot."
ON A POSSIBLE INSERTION IN MIDFIELD
"You can never say if my definite role is the current one. Now I have been playing as a defender for many years and I like this position a lot. In midfield I used to play during my Napoli and Udinese days, but then I always played as a full-back and I'm happy.
"Usually when I go on the pitch I always try to move forward also to try toscore. Last year I scored three goals, one in the Super Cup final and I'm happy. As soon as I have the possibility to move forward, I always try."
ON THE MATCH AGAINST SIENA
"Each game that we shall play from now onwards is important to reach our objective, the fourth place. Little by little we are getting closer, but already from Sunday we must confirm all that we have done so far. On Wednesday we shall play the game we have to recover against Livorno and that will be another chance to win important points. Siena is a good team, which stopped Roma last Sunday and for this reason we must give our best."
ON PATO:
"As soon that Pato arrived, he proved his worth. Unfortunately on Sunday he got injured, but he's a young player and all of us team-mates are ready to help him so that he recovers as soon as possible."
He has the right attitude for a Milan full back thats for sure. Sort out the defence and then turn to run forwards. Its an absolute necessity to do that if you are a Milan full back as these guys are the ones that provide the width for us!

Seedorf out of Arsenal clash
Saturday 1 March, 2008
Carlo Ancelotti admits Milan aren’t at their best right now and Clarence Seedorf is out of action against Arsenal.
“I am only worried by the fact we are going into a match with a very strong team in what is not our best form,” said the Coach after their 1-1 draw with Lazio.
It was a second consecutive Serie A stalemate after the midweek 1-1 at Catania and Massimo Oddo’s penalty was needed to fight back from a Rolando Bianchi opener.
The first half performance in particular was very poor and the tempo was kept sluggishly slow.
“I have to say, though, that I don’t see teams in Italy and Europe who are much sharper than we are at the moment.”
During this evening’s encounter Seedorf went off with a thigh problem in the first half and Ancelotti confirmed the Dutchman would not be available for Tuesday’s encounter with Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Lazio President Claudio Lotito – still the only member of the club who will speak to the media – complained that the penalty incident was unfair.
“I saw that at least four Milan corner kicks should have been retaken because the ball was outside the line and that includes the one that led to Oddo’s equaliser.
“We deserved to win, especially considering all the chances we had at the start of the second half. Milan only avoided defeat thanks to Zeljko Kalac’s great saves. He was decisive.”
Seedorf has been rubbish since around November, and he was totally anonymous in the Emirates. Dependong on who we replace him with, this could be a blessing in disguise!

I felt exactly the same when i first heard this news.

When i started writing this post i was going to suggest Gourcuff replace Seedorf on the basis of his in truth, fairly competent performance against Lazio before i thought about pato. IMO we will play our christmas tree formation with Inzaghi supported by Kaka' and Pato.
I know this isn't the thread for formations but something like:
-----------------Kalac------------------
--Oddo-----Nesta----Maldini---Kaladze--
------------------Pirlo------------------
-----------Gattuso---------------------
--------------------------Ambrosini-----
------------kaka'------Pato-------------
----------------Inzaghi-----------------
should be good enough to beat the gunners. Kaladze is in the LB spot because i think Jankulovski picked up a knock against Lazio. Inzaghi also didn't play, meaning he is fresh and ready to go, as are Kaka', Pirlo, Nesta and King Paolo.

I agree with ya adriano. No matter how poorly he has played, he at least has been an extra body. This season is a write off in my view. We have a battle to hold onto a UEFA Cup place....thats about it. I have zero faith in getting into the top 4 the way we are playing.
If his injury is an excuse for how badly he has performed, then why wasnt anything done about it sooner seeing as we at least had the Bonera option to play at RB, and if its also an excuse for Kaka, why arent we doing something about him too?
Bonera should get a good run of games now anyway, and you never know, we may see Darmian make a substitute appearance or two....we're already relying on 2 18 year old, may as well add a third into the equation!

Milan fears over Nesta fitness
Wednesday 23 July, 2008
Milan could be forced to return to the transfer market after key defender Alessandro Nesta reported a back problem.
The Rossoneri believed that they had completed their summer spending with the arrival of Ronaldinho.
However, the Diavolo are still short of options in defence in spite of the signature of Azzurri stopper Gianluca Zambrotta.
With the news that Nesta is suffering from pain in his upper back, the Corriere dello Sport insists that Milan will look for a possible replacement.
The world champions had been linked with former Roma stopper Matteo Ferrari in recent months, but they never made any concrete approach for the free agent.
carlo mentioned an injury to nesta in his press conference, but he said that it was only minor and that nesta would definitely be back next week.
dreamlander
Jul 23 2008, 08:13 AM
Nesta has always been a bit innjury prone and we have rarely, if ever, looked comfortable without him in our back line, especially against top half opposition. I actually quite like Kaladze as a center back, but when he is the one who is supposed to be the first teamer when nesta is out, I am far from confident. But there is no point talking about signing a player. The Milan board are too narrow sighted to notice the fact that Nesta misses near on a third of the season every year now.
For the record, this is not meant to be an anti Nesta rant! He is still the worlds best center back in my eyes at the moment! The difference he makes when he is in and out of our team is like night and day!

Kaka: "I'm in bad shape" Sunday 3 August, 2008
Milan’s woes increase as Kaka admits his knee problem is so bad he isn’t sure when he’ll be able to play again.
“I am in bad shape. I don’t know when I’ll be back,” he told journalists this evening.
The Brazilian limped off during this week’s 1-0 defeat to Sevilla in Moscow and was ruled out of today’s 5-0 thrashing by Chelsea.
Officially the club website would only confirm it was “an inflammation of the knee,” but reports from Brazil paint a far darker picture.
They suggest it is a case of tendonitis in the same knee that underwent surgery in May and will keep him on the sidelines for at least two weeks.
With Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato at the Olympics, Marco Borriello out for two months following meniscus ligament surgery on his knee and Pippo Inzaghi dealing with recurring muscular problems, this leaves Milan with no strikers.
Only 18-year-old Alberto Paloschi is available and he cannot play two games on the trot. Paloschi was left on the bench for today’s 5-0 defeat to Chelsea in a line-up so reshuffled that Massimo Ambrosini and Andrea Pirlo had to play upfront.
With this situation deteriorating and Robinho’s admission he wants to join Chelsea, it is increasingly likely that the Rossoneri will make a bid to bring Andriy Shevchenko back to San Siro.
Sheva faced his former club for the first time since making that £30m move in Moscow and it provides the two sides with the perfect opportunity to discuss his future.

Milan club doctor Massimo Manara talked about the condition of the injured players at the end of the training session. - THE DECLARATIONS MASSIMO MANARA -

MILANELLO - After today's training session, Milan club doctor Massimo Manara talked about the situation of the injured players:
ALESSANDRO NESTA
"Alessandro was subjected yesterday afternoon to a second therapy. The results seem decent. Today he rested, we have to see the result of the treatment in the next 48-72 hours and then establish a rehabilitation plan."
MARCO BORRIELLO
"Since yesterday he's doing post-surgery physiotherapy. He's very satisfied, happy of the results of the operation."
FILIPPO INZAGHI
"Tomorrow he will be subjected to a control exam. The idea is that over the next few days he begins a specific physical work to resume training with the team."
RICKY KAKÁ
"He started a rehabilitation program, we'll see. After a few days of rest he's feeling better and he will be subjected to more specific xams in the next few days."
EMERSON
"We are very happy about the results after these days of specific work. We hope to have him ready to work with the group at the end of the month."
KAKHA KALADZE
"Sometimes that problem to his knee reemerges, but now he's feeling much better."
No real expectant return dates bar Emerson (the least important bloody name there) which is kinda disappointing, but it does seem as if there is nothing ultra serious gone wrong with the likes of Kaka and Nesta which is massively important. Rest and check ups appear to be all that can be done at the moment. We'll just have to play the waiting game I guess!
