And another one is out for the rest of the season

We barely have enough fit players to have a full bench at the moment and you do have to wonder if it is indeed to do with the training methods that have been used this year as you can't say that the A-League season is that physically demanding when you look at other leagues playing 4 games in 7 days. On the eve of the season defining clash against Sydney as well, what poor timing.

ADELAIDE United midfielder Shaun Ontong has joined the growing number of players who will watch the remainder of the season from the sidelines because of an ankle injury.
Ontong, 20, tore ligaments in his right ankle at training on Saturday forcing the pocket-rocket to use crutches for at least a week. At this stage the prognosis is dire, with doctors recommending he miss six to eight weeks. He will have more information once he attends a physio session on Monday.
Prolonged injuries have plagued the Reds all year, with skipper Paul Agostino (thigh) and defender Michael Valkanis (knee) definitely out for the season. There is still a cloud of doubt over young midfielder Jason Spagnuolo (thigh) and Brazilian import Diego (back and groin) about whether they will return before play-offs or not.
A swag of additional players have also come in and out of the side as a result of injury including key strikers Nathan Burns (hamstring) and Bruce Djite (ankle).
Ontong's injury has dealt a critical blow to the club with only four games left until the end of season.
He said the timing is "disappointing" but remained optimistic about his return next season.
"It's not the best at such an important part of the season," he said. "Especially when I had started being included in the squad a lot more. . . but that's football, it happens."
He is currently wearing a "moon boot" to protect his ankle from further injury. His next goal is to be ready for the Asian Champions League which starts on March 12.
"Hopefully rehab will make it stronger than ever before.
"I'll be working just as hard as always."
Not a regular starter for the side, Ontong's absence will leave fellow midfielders Travis Dodd, Jonas Salley and Lucas Pantelis with fewer rotation options.
Ontong knocked back the idea that the Reds players were being worked too hard leading to this string of set-backs, putting it down to a coincidence.
"We're just unlucky," he said with a laugh.
"We work really hard at training and have done a lot of injury prevention work with our strength and conditioning coach."
