Match talk here.

I think we'll rest some players and line up like;

Carlo
Belletti - Alex - Terry - Bridge
Mikel
Sidwell - Lampard
J. Cole - - - - - - - - - Kalou
Pizarro/Sheva

Hopefully Hutchinson gets some minutes.

I agree with the line up DEAN posted except Essien for Lampard and maybe SWP for Joe Cole..... Must play for a draw and should rest players for Arsenal game....... May be Hutchinson for Belletti as he is the only RB available. Any chance for Cech playing????
AxedByMe
I would swap SWP and Lampard and put SWP in RCM. See how that goes. We need Lampard for Arsenal. The rest pretty much i agree with. It'll be great to see our young guns play against a top club.
_________
Oh yeah, I forgot about Essien, might as well start him tbh. I'd actually rest Joey, put SWP in and have Essien at DM with Sidwell and Lampard starting.

Arsenal - Chelsea 15/12/2007
Valencia - Barcelona 16/12/2007
This two games are more important.

Aye, they are - but Valencia have a Uefa cup place to play for, and we have an unbeaten home record to maintain smile.gif

Anyone think Valencia might win this? We've changed 4 of our back 5 since the weekend..
tautology
Cech
Ferreira Terry Ben Haim Bridge
Wright-Philips Essien Lampard Kalou
Pizarro Shevchenko

-------

Vicente Morientes Villa
Silva Marchena Sunny
Moretti Helguera Albiol Miguel
Canifuckingzares

I was of the opinion that Canizares had gifted Chelsea enough free goals, but apparently Koeman disagrees with me.

A traditional 4-4-2 from Chelsea. We'll have to see how it works out without a true defensive midfielder. It will probably help both Pizarro and Shevchenko, neither of whom seem good enough to play alone up front.

Kick off!

Wow interesting squad. I wonder how it's gonna working. Btw, does anyone have link to match on Sopcast or WMP?

I really wish Ben Haim would get rid of his 1 Eyebrow.
ManCitySpark
Ben Haim is doing well. We have attacked well and a lot it is just that Canizares picked the wrong night t oshow off his skills.

Hopefully we will see some goals.

I didn't even watch the game but boring I presume?

Glad we didn't lose though to preserve our streak..

This Valencia team isn't very good. We dominated, in terms of possession, chances and general play, and had it not been for the woodwork twice, and the heroics of Santi, we'd have won that by at least 3-4. We have something like 11 shots on target.

Seriously, if I was David Villa, I'd be watching that and thinking 'mhm.. if I was in this Chelsea team, I'd have had 3 goals............in the first half alone.' With our striker problem, we should go in for him and on displays like this, he must seriously contemplate why he isn't at a club like ours where so many chances get created but we suffer from poor finishing (unless we have Drogba there).

Anywho, Bridge was awesome all game. Ferreira came back from injury and performed well, likewise for Belletti when he came on. Ben Haim wasn't bad, but got caught out of position a couple times - an improvement, though. Terry was immense, very good performance. Essien and Lampard controlled the midfield and bossed it, and broke through at will, and Sheva had an excellent game I thought, although the finishing and luck just still isn't with him. His movement meant that we were almost unplayable in the first half, and we got in behind their defence time after time. SWP was very wasteful with the crossed, but as I've said before, he still manages to carve out a good few chances per game. Kalou was bright, but wasteful and Joey came on and played well.

Shame we couldn't put this team away, because the difference between us right now is massive.

We played quite well, I thought.. just was wasteful/unlucky.
Guaje
Neutral on the result. Maybe because I wish we could have done something with the good luck we had in Chesea being so wasteful.

Valencia continue to be a mess at the back. I just can't wait for the January transfer window. It can't come soon enough. Helguera is trash, straight up and down. And WTF is up with putting Vicente on the right wing?.. Yeah I know that Joaquin is injured, but I'd rather have had Angulo on the right wing, and Vicente on the left with Silva playing off Villa. Then maybe in the 2nd half we could have brought on Morientes. At least Sunny and Manuel Fernandes are starting to get some much needed experience.

Hopefully Villa is not badly injured at all. That would be brutal for a club already at rock bottom, facing Barcelona coming this weekend. Lets all hope its not serious.

that Kalou miss could be the miss of the century next to this

sorry if this is spam but it's so funny.

back to topic:
it wasn't a really great game for Chelsea. TBH Shevchenko or Kalou could of sealed the deal for this match if they could of finished right. But the game was filled with good saves by Canizares he's still a great keeper at that old age.
Carlo Gambino
I think Darchevilles miss this morning makes Kalou's look like a screamer..
