Oh my, the Ravens are a freakin' joke
Good news for me though, my Browns are one victory (or a Titans loss) away from the playoffs. How Phil Dawson was able to kick two field goals in the blizzard up in Cleveland, I'll never know. But no matter, our incredible season continues.
P.S. Billick must stay!

was at the cleveland-buffalo game today. froze my freakin balls off. the wind was horrible from the lake. This makes it the second american football game i've watched in person and i have yet to witness a TD live

ONE pic i've managed to take because it was too cold to do much more. Blizzard like conditions made my ride home be 4 hours instead of the usual 45-60 min

I noticed that the subtitle of this thread says National Foosball League (not that that's bad or anything). However, my understanding is that N.F.L. stands for National Football League.
And after taking a second look, I find that the actual words are, "All things to do with foosball go in here," not "National Foosball League."

How about them Ravens congratz on them for the funniest loss, imo, in their history. losing to an 0-13 team. but congratz to the dolphins on their rare win. It's a dumb luck win they're going down against the patriots. none of the defenders will be able to get even 5 yards from Tom Brady.

The Patriots are just so damn good this year I can't see anyone beating them. They are slowing up though and not running the scores up as much as they were at the start of the season, so maybe they will cool off come playoffs.
Let's go Colts, the Dawg Pound needs you to bail us out in a big way this weekend!
The whole scenario is a pretty weird one to be honest, the Browns could beat the Niners and still miss out on the 6th and final playoff spot -- but we can also lose and still back into the playoffs. The NFC could conceivably send an 8-8 team to the playoffs, as well.

Congratulations to the Patriots for completing a perfect season. Tom Brady broke a record for most touchdown passes in a season and Randy Moss broke a record for most touchdown receptions in a season!
I wish the Eagles could have made the play-offs.
Dammit dammit dammit!
Screw it, I'll be going for the Patriots (or whoever knocks out the Colts) in the playoffs this year.

How bout perfection, cool to get to see history, and tough like for the Browns would have been a nice story to make it to the playoffs. You guys have still come a long ways from the laughing stock of the last couple years.

Owner says Billick will not return as Ravens coach
ESPN.com
Updated: December 31, 2007, 2:28 PM ET
Less than a year after signing him to a contract extension through 2010, the Baltimore Ravens on Monday fired coach Brian Billick.
The dismissal of Billick was confirmed to ESPN's Chris Mortensen by owner Steve Bisciotti and to ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli by an assistant coach and a front office official.
The move will be discussed at an afternoon news conference at Ravens headquarters.
Billick, 53, compiled an 85-67 record in nine seasons. The Ravens, who won the AFC North championship in 2006, struggled to a 5-11 mark this season, a year that included a nine-game losing streak that ended with Sunday's 27-21 win over Pittsburgh.
In his second season with the franchise, Billick led the Ravens to the Super Bowl XXXV title in 2000, but never got the club back to the title game.
Only a few weeks ago, Billick proclaimed that he would return in 2008, but Bisciotti, who does not speak to the media during the season, made no statement to that effect.
After what proved to be his final game as coach, Billick said of the victory, "It was great. Hopefully, that's a sign of things to come."

How good was the Jaguars-Steelers game?
It followed the same pattern as their regular season meeting a few weeks ago: Jacksonville takes a big lead, Steelers make a furious come back, only to see the Jags win it in the last minutes. Practically the same scenario, but way more exciting to watch since it's the Playoffs.
A crazy game between the Redskins and the Seahawks as well, but the Skins' great run fell just short in the end.

Some massive tackles by Bigby and a really strong come back from Ryan Grant after 2 fumbles in Green Bay's two opening drives.
And the Chargers knock the Colts out of the playoffs, yessss

Delighted with that. I have no idea why...maybe because its his too good, but I hate Manning.....and by association, I hope the Cowboys take out the Giants as well....Play offs continuing without members of the Manning family would be great for me

Chargers were great though earlier...some game. The Play Offs and wild card match ups have been frickin great so far!

I hate the Patriots so much. I really hope they lose.
LaDainian is slated to play vs the Patriots, while Philip Rivers is still a doubt. Wouldn't count him out just yet, though. Either way, I think the Pats have passed a tough test against the Jaguars, so they'll be well-prepared for the Chargers game.
By the way, is anybody else wondering if Tony Romo's gonna take Jessica with him to the Pro Bowl?

NFL to play regular-season game in Britain in '08
Associated Press
Updated: January 17, 2008, 12:54 PM ET
LONDON -- The NFL will return to Britain next season.
The league, which held its first regular season game outside North America in London last October, said Thursday it would come back again in 2008.
The teams, date and venue will be announced during Super Bowl week late this month or in early February.
The New York Giants beat the Miami Dolphins 13-10 in front of 81,176 fans at Wembley Stadium on Oct. 28.
"The game in London was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the entire 2007 season," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "We had an overwhelmingly positive response to the event from all involved -- the teams, our sponsors and business partners and of course the fans themselves."
Wembley officials weren't so ecstatic because the game, played through a persistent drizzle, tore up the field and left it in rough shape for England's crucial European Championship qualifier against Croatia on Nov. 21. The English lost that game 3-2 and failed to qualify for Euro 2008.
Besides Wembley, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, is another possible venue for next season's game.

Just as long as they don't hold it at Wembley again, we have Croatia again at a similar sort of time this year, the last thing we need is for those overpadded women to trample up our pitch again.

Correct Asad, I'm with you on that one.
Pats for the win as well, and no - I don't like them but I've watched the whole NFL season and they are unstoppable..
My Titans got knocked off by the Chargers (thanks to the ref, but let's not go into that) but I think that the Pats will overcome them in the fourth quarter. I'd love for NY to get into the Super Bowl but for that to happen I think I'd need to see a pig fly first... Although they are playing great as a team atm, GB and Favre will be too much for them IMO. Their passing game beats SD's running game any day.

I think the Chargers have a chance. Play balls out and not in fear of the Patriots. The Giants will be extremely competitive against the Pack. I still see the Pack and Pats in the SB. The conspiracy theorist in me says that the Pack will beat the Pats in the SB so Favre can ride off into the sunset like John Elway.

On a totally unrelated note, the UK game next year will very likely feature the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for those of you who don't know that is Malcom Glazer's team.

The NFL has a pretty big following over here. The game at Wembley last year sold out with many more people trying to get tickets. Cant remember the exact numbers but I think there were 500,000 applications for tickets and many holding out for general sale which it never reached. Channel Five has 2 shows a week during the regular season and Sky show 3 games a week (IIRC). For the first time in ages the BBC are showing the superbowl tonight as well so there must be some level of interest for them to show it. Its not massive in the UK but there is definately a large following.
And no, I dont play COD online, if I did im sure I would suck
The UK franchise is definitely growing more and more people are taking the sport in since its on sky sports all the time .
Lets go Giants , Let Strahan retire on a high.
NO. FREAKING. WAY.
What was meant to be a coronation for the New England Patriots has become a moment of sheer magic for the New York Giants and their fans worldwide. Who woulda thought?
Congratulations to both teams for contesting in such an amazing game. And congratulations to the New York Giants for their Super Bowl victory.
