Glad to see NHL threads making a comeback
TALENT
yea i agree
Karing Korean
NHL used to be my favorite league but now it's premiership tongue.gif
Sammi
Gee how good is the Pacific Division going this season?
1st, 2nd and fourth in the Western Conference. Good effort eh?
Anyway I have a good feeling about the Ducks and the Sharks this year. Although Buffalo are a dark horse too though.
Did anyone catch the Stanley Cup finals last season. What a series! Neck and neck the whole way.
Derek911
Buffalo sabres are gonna take it this year
Sammi
No way. Mighty Ducks and San Jose will play off the Western Conference Final. Hopefully San Jose come out on top biggrin.gif and yeah they'll probably play (and beat tongue.gif) Buffalo.
El Buitre
I think Anaheim is just a step ahead of everyone in the West right now. With Pronger and Niedermayer, the Ducks have 2 of the best defensemen in the league. They are not as strong in the net as some of the other teams imo, but they are good enough to overcome.

I would like to say that my Stars are gonna take it but Turco still hasn't proven anything in the playoffs. We might be sitting in third in the division, but I honestly believe that 3 of the top 4 teams in the conference are in the Pacific. Dallas just put the beatdown on Nashville tonight and I think once we get healthy again (Morrow, Lindros and Modano out) we can make a good run.
Sammi
I agree^ The pacific Division is easily the best division in the league no doubt.
But I think that Anaheim will buckle under the pressure and absolutely choke in the playoffs.
San Jose on the other hand are more exerienced and can overcome Anaheim's Supurb defence. I mean with Joe Thornton, the most talented and gifted passer and mover of the ball setting up johnathon Cheechoo, also one of the best scorers in the league, I think that they can overcome Niedermayer and Pronger who are both getting very old indeed. And we dont have a bad defence ourselves either, with Mclaren and Hannan defending for Nabokov and Toskala, that's almost unbeatable.
Then we also have great blue-collar players like; Marleau, Smith, Goc, Bernier, Erhoff, and many others I think we have the perfect mix of; experience, youth, skill, braun, and teamwork that any team will fear.
bob
My Kings will play spoiler to you guys.

Isn't the best division the one with Vancouver, Alberta teams, and Minnesota?

HELL NO

The best division in the NHL is the Northeast division
Sammi
No. Pacific easily.

*Anaheim - The best team at the moment
* San Jose - Just running behind Anaheim
*And Dallas who are in the top half of the league despite all their injuries.

How can you say that is not the best division?^
Derek911
Anaheim is gay! they lost to the worst team in the NHL (flyers)

San jose lost to phoenix 8-0! and the rest is just crap thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Sabres 2007 Stanley cup winner!! cheers1.gif

Hey man, if u didnt notice.... The Pacific Division's top three are all over 50 and Anaheim is over 60 points already. Losing one game doesnt mean they wont win.

Crazy game armstrong hit on koivu was insane

Overall the game was very entertaining nice goals by gonchar and bonk
Roc
Aneheim are unbeatable with Pronger and Niedermayer defending, they will take out the Stanley cup this year
Footfield119
First time i made my way to the other sports thread, used to being locked into the boot room haha.

I would LIKE to take my pens this year, but its not gonna happen. We're too young. But when Malkin gets goin next year, LOOK OUT!
R99 'IL RE' ACM
It's OVER fellow Hab fans. crying_new.gif crying_new.gif With subpar goaltending (since Huets injury) and no legitimate goalscoring threats, I suppose it should come as no real shock. Anger and disgust ? You bet. ranting.gif But shock?? Hell no.
Footfield119
Wow, I hate Marty Brodeur badly. My pens lost last night in overtime, but it was a well played game by both sides. Still picked up 1 point. Nice work, fellas.

The Pens are easily the most enjoyable team to watch in the league. With kids like Crosby, Malkin, Staal, and Malone, this team is gonna be really good for a while if Fleury can step up his game. I am personally a Stars fan after growing up playing hockey in Dallas, but the Pens are becoming one of my favorite teams.
Footfield119
^Well, it seems as thought the Penguins will be moving closer to Dallas, so you might be a little more happy. All Fleury needs is consistency. Some games, he plays so well, saving 32 of 33 shots, and the saves being amazingly difficult. Other games, its like he forgets what he's doing, and gives up a lousy goal at the worst time. I still believe in him, though, and with the offense we have, Pens have a bright future.
Footfield119
Thats right! Pens are staying in Pittsburgh!!!! YAY

AND we won tonight in shootouts on Crosby's talent again. Beat Buffalo 1st in the East. We're on the rise!

Was soo happy when chris drury scored when there was like 10 seconds left in the game but oh well i hope the pens do beat the senators in the playoffs.
Footfield119
I wasnt happy!! Haha, glad Pens got the 2 points though. Much needed at this point, fighting for home ice.

A great season so far, at least from my point of view. Crosby in particular has been phenomenal and with Pittsburgh finally making it to the play offs, I'm just thrilled! And as a Finn it's been fantastic to witness Teemu Selänne's performances with the Ducks. He's playing like a twenty-year-old again now that he had his knee fixed!
Pepe
If the Leafs and Montreal both win their next couple of games....Saturday is going to be nuts.
Derek911
The eastern playoff race is soo tight. Habs vs leafs game is going to be awesome
The 92nd Fish
Anyone know which are the two games that have been scheduled to be played in London this year, I believe they both involve AEG owned teams, I might bimble up to London to watch one if they havn't already sold out.
Pepe
I'm pretty sure it's the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks.
Oliveira_Entertainment
Guys the playoff race is comming to a close tonight..... And what a game to finish it off.. Montreal vs Toronto... Montreal sits in the 8th and final place for the playoffs one point ahead of toronto... If montreal get's one point out of this then it's over for toronto and New York Islanders.... If Toronto beats montreal tonight and montreal get's no points, Montreal is out... New york Islanders have to lose one of there 2 remaing games for toronto to make the playoffs if the beat montreal.. Either or Tonights game Habs vs Leafs is going to be crazy Im for sure watching it.. But Guys MY OTTAWA SENATORS are winning the cup this year sorry! bigsmile.gif
Footfield119
^Not if they go through my Pens first!
milcarb86

No surprise there, faggy crosby and malkin getting OWNED. Horrible ref job, but this series, contrary to what everyone has been saying will not be going anywhere near 7.
milcarb86
yup, i think Sens will sweep the Pens lol

anyways, Rangers beating Atlanta 4-3

Buffalo tied with Islanders 1-1

Detroit killing Calgary 4-0

Tampa loosing to the Devils 2-3

Footfield119
Its just one game. I'm not counting the Penguins out yet.

Pens will bounce back. They are just like Tampa Bay, if they get solid goaltending, they can get wins.

I was just sick after Dallas lost in 4OTs. I stayed up the whole game only for the freaking Sedin twins to score their only good chance in OT. Oh well, Luongo stole the first game and Turco (FINALLY clapping.gif ) played up to his potential in the playoffs. I think we will take the series as we have controlled most of both games.

I'm not rubbing this in your face or anything, but.....
SERIES TIED 1-1

"Faggy" Crosby with the game-winning goal and Malkin with 2 assists. The momentum has switched to Pittsburgh...for now.

*ahem* excuse me?

Sniper in the crowd? No, Cindy up to his usual antics:

With his team getting outplayed in 8 out of the 9 periods played so far, Sid "the Bib" definitely has something to whine about:

Good on Don Cherry calling him out for the baby he is.

Lol, 2-1. Another game tonight, we just gotta wait and see.
Dirty Sanchez

Ya very young team but dont worry Ottawa are gonna choke again.

Just hope sabres finish off isles tonight.
milcarb86
So the Devils eliminated the Lightning and face the Ottawa Senators in the semis...that will be a heck of a series, although i think the Senators will take it ...

Sabres will probably sweep the Rangers i think...

Detroit just eliminated the Calgary flames today as well, and they go against Anaheim Ducks...hard to call but Detroit will take this in 7 maybe..

Tomorrow Dallas visits Vancouver to finish it all off in game 7, fucking hell of a series, its really hard to call it, but the way Dallas has been playing Marty Turco with 3 fucking shutouts in the series, i say Dallas can do it

and San Jose is waiting for whoever comes out of there, which i think San Jose would kill
