I personally feel that the venture would not be worth the effort. Boots are being introduced to the market at an astonishing pace these days with the newer ones being touted as better than the ones before. The draw to buy boots to be sold later seems tempting but many boots these days are not what one would call collectible classics that will appreciate. Soon enough, if we get a retailer who has a large stockpile for clearance one year later, you will be stuck with them unless you can match their (low) prices.

Given a choice, most people would pay a lower price for the latest model withe the newest techonologies than 100quid more for an older model that was a feature of some past event. I mean, 2 years form now, not many people still remember Euro08 when World Cup 2010 will be upon us. As of now, I already know of a (prototype) synthetic leather for soccer boots that is way better than the much talked about Teijin leather used in the vapors IV. Very soon, todays top end synthetics will be used for entry level boots a few years down the line. The SL carbon outsoles are also going to be dated technology.

Buying boots as an investment is a poor choice not just for the illiquidity, given the need to care for them regularly, especially if they are not used, the glue would harden and become brittle in 5-6 years, maybe less and the soles would separate from the upper. My advice, is really to buy the boots you need and would like to wear at that moment and if upon sufficient trials and breaking in, you feel that it may be something you'd really like to have for longer, then get another one if you think it will be sold out. Most likely though, you will be able to find the second pair you want BNIB at a cheaper price on ebay or other stores at the end of the season.

striker22, there are 2000 SL's worldwide and the euros are also limited edition. by the end of the year they will ALL have sold for the original retail price. and regardless of technological advances, we've seen loads of old boots which have sold for double and treble their retail price a few years down the line... boots which relative to todays technology/gimmicks seem as cutting edge as a pair of wellies. and as well as boots which may be bought 3 or 4 years down the line to play in, theres a surprisingly large community of collectors - look around on this board - who have boots which will never see grass.

Those euro vapors are so so so so so nice. IM am so frustrated that i cant get a pair cause they are pretty cheap too. Ive already got my boots for this season but id swap them for a pair of those. Its very very frustrating. Maybe i can win a pair somewhere. Or beg kitbag for a pair. it works out to be 165 aussie dollars delivered within a week aswell. Thats craxy. I want a pair so badly. Im not a big fan of vapors but black leather with the white tick is so damn classy and you dont look like a show pony like you would with the orange ones. The colour of the studs wrecks it a bit but no one will see them. Id have white studs.

and it said on my mock dreaming order sheet thing that they were 71 pounds.
