Hey all, I was wondering which shirts you actually have said to yourself, 'I have to get that!'
For me, there are 3 at the moment:

I definitely want to get the red Germany with 20 Podolski

The Celtic away top, pure sexy

Last but not least, the Arsenal away... hopefully longsleeve

And, yes, you probably see that I support United, but I've sort of liked Arsenal too, seeing as how I got into them in the '04 season watching them on TV, seeing them play the beautiful game to perfection, and I was younger, easily influenced... but I still support United!
OPM
on my list for this season, some of them now, some at the end:

-nürnberg away 08/10
-arsenal away
-rangers away
-rapid vienna away
-hull home

there are 2,3 more that i really want but i still have to decide whether they are worth the money or not thumbsup.gif

I don't understand half the people on this site. You say you support a team but then go and get a shirt of their rivals? And also some of you have favourite players who play for rivals? Thats not right. The point is sticking with a main team that you support and following them. Whats the point in changing your fav team every season until you end up with 8 favourite teams? EXAMPLE: Theres a user of this site whos favourite teams are Man Utd & Arsenal yet his favourite players include Jenas & Zokora. It doesnt work like that. Some of you guys obviously don't know what supporting a team means.

Alright, calm it down... I'm American and was younger when Arsenal was top of the Prem... As they were really good, they were on television alot here in the States, so I watched them and became quite fond of them and got the 04 shirt. As a younger boy in the 04 campaign, I was easily influenced to watch beautiful football. Arsenal just played it beautifully and they were fun to watch... I have always liked United too, it just works out that way seeing as I have become acquainted with Englishmen and they have led me to grow fond of these teams (Arsenal and United).

I hate Chelsea as well as Liverpool. I've liked Celtic and hate Rangers (I'm Catholic, I know about the Old Firm, and my goal is to see a match between them). I am not about to change that. It's not like if Chelsea is top of the Prem, I'm going to like Chelsea... This is the way I've been and am not about to change that. For me, it's United, Celtic, and Arsenal. International football it's USA and Germany (I've mostly German ancestry).

I know what supporting a team means, and will follow these clubs. I don't need people to tell me I'm wrong. I simply asked which shirts the members are going to get, and you essentially put me down to be an idiot. And let's please keep the fact I'm American out of this. If there is one thing that pisses me off, its people thinking some Americans don't TRULY understand football.

Sorry for ranting, but I don't like people acting like I'm stupid to the game.

Back to the topic of shirts!

I dont think he was trying to say Americans don't know anything about football. its just really weird if you support two teams in the same league and when their rivals its just quite frankly ridiculas. He didn't bring you being American into this he simple said supporting two rivals teams is weird, which i agree. Manchester united and arsenal? come on man, if glory hunting one wasn't bad enough. you'd find it dumb if someone supported the red sox's and yankees.
Mascherano's Pocket
Arsenal's Highbury/RedCurrant home strip from 2006

Everton and Man Utd are Liverpool's heated and most hated rivals

Geographically Arsenal is not & there has not been the "hate" between the clubs like the Everton/Man Utd rivalries. Always been a big match because of the expectations from both clubs but always been fair and exciting matches between the clubs without too much argy bargy. Plenty of Liverpool fans have little ill feeling towards Arsenal

Of course there is a dislike for Chelsea but that is down to the events post 2003 especially kicked off with 'The Special None' and his mouth. Nothing compares to the matches against Man Utd and Everton, who are the two biggest rivals in Liverpool history

A rivalry noiwadays is drummed up in support of Sky's Grand Slam Sunday

Even if the hate isn't there they are still part of the Big 4. They are your competition for the title. Why would you support them? You may aswell support Chelsea and Tottenham tbh.

The fact you have a Rangers player in your sig kind of proves his point though. You probably should have left out the bit about being catholic though, its shouldn't really have any relevance.

I don't actually think Gudjohnsen7 is saying Americans don't know anything about football, he's just commenting on a trend that seems to apply predominantly to Americans. Personally I don't really have a problem with it, though you can't really support a team while also cheering on their rivals, to be honest I'm more saddened by the fact that very few Americans on here actually seem to support MLS teams.

Anyway, back on the actual topic:

Rangers (all 3 of them)
Scotland Home (possibly the away, depends what it looks like)
Roma Third
Arsenal Away if I can find it long-sleeved.
So Fresh N' So Clean
Holland Away VDV #23
Germany Home Schweinsteiger #7

maybe a couple others if I can find enough money...
cr7mufc
G-Hammer I don't care to get involved in this particular argument but I'd like to point out that Damarcus Beasley is an American first and a Rangers player second. That's most likely the reason behind the sig.

On topic:

I want Manchester United's Goalkeeper shirt and the blue third shirt of it ever comes out. I'd also like to get the Chelsea away shirt and the Juventus away shirt for my collection that's growing ever so slowly. And Valencia's black kit is awesome too.
Decolicious
Italy away
Chelsea away
Barcelona home
Palermo home/away and 3rd
gman19
Real Madrid home prolly higuain 20 on the back
Juventus home with Del Piero
prolly the liverpool away with Torres

Someone else put it perfectly, even above all these clubs, I support my country the most. I don't care which club they play for when they pull on the USA shirt. When your country is set to take on another, are you going to be like, 'I want Ferdinand to do well, but Gerrard to play poorly'? Nope, you pull for them all because they are all the same when they represent your country. You have to realise football is a business, so players go where the most money is, regardless of rivalries. Many players have worn both the Barcelona and Real Madrid tops... just throwing some examples out.
G-Hammer
Of course you still support them when they play for their country, though wouldn't you rather champion players who play for your team and your country? I'm a huge fan of Stephen McManus, but I doubt I'd ever put him in a sig or av, or get his name on the back of a Scotland top. I doubt they sell many England shirts with Ferdinand or Lampard printed on the back in Liverpool.

Back on topic:

I'm debating the Blackburn away top. The fact its the same template as the Gers third puts me off a bit, but I do rather like it.
Juelz
FC Dallas Home
Liverpool away mascherano long sleeved uniform
Udinese Home
USA Home
aydrichsfc
i am definitely going to get the spurs 3rd shirt with maybe bale #3 on the back.
and im going to madrid on friday so i will do the tradition whenever i go to spain and probaly pick up the new real shirt from the bernabaue.
i am also hoping to get the bristol city kit with trundle on the back.

being a southampton fan i am fighting back the temptations to get the new pompey home shirt with crouch on the back as i love the shirt so much, i am trying my best and i am determined not to give in lol.

As someone said earlier, football is a business. They don't only sell England shirts with Lampard and A or J Cole on the back in London, that's for sure. And the funny thing about being American is, if you follow European soccer, then you don't have a whole hell of a lot of players who play for team and country. As soon as a Yank pulls on a Gunners top, I'll be first in line to get his name on my shirt. As it is, not gonna happen for a while.

And I've already checked off the Milan home LS, so I'll probably get the Arsenal home and away throughout the course of the season, preferably LS as well.

Yeah but London's a big place with a lot of teams. Spurs or West Ham fans would probably be more willing to purchase tops with Rooney, Gerrard etc than Chelsea/Arsenal players. Football being a business isn't something people should be hiding behind and using as an excuse when it suits you, I'll be more than once you've all lamented the downfall of football as a sport.

Well you support DC United, plenty play there. I do get what you mean though, Roma are my 2nd team and if a Scot (well one within reason) signed for them I'd definitely have his name on a top. Likewise if this proposed Fletcher to Real move ever happens I'd buy a Real shirt with his name on the back (despite the chances of him actually playing being minute) but thats a different scenario to what we were talking about earlier, thats a countryman signing for a team you like.
