Have a few question for you more experienced people.

Was thinking of buying this shingaurd Nike Mercurial Alpha Lite at £20, is it worth it paying the extra £10 compared to the standard £10 shingaurds?

They'll be worn without any football socks, as i only play non-competitive football (but have still been ending up getting bruised a lot lately).

My Main worry is, will it stay in place or move about, or will i need to buy these Nike Gaurd Stays as well?

and lastly what the hell are these things, called sock ties and ankle strap?

I'm kind of confused given all the variety and no obvious differences. I need a light and comfortable shingaurd that won't move about, that's all, and the nike sleeve ones seem like a better bet than velcro strap on's that look like they could stop blood flow.

Anyone have experience with these items, your answers would be appreciated.

i don't actually have the shinpads myself but if you are not wearing football socks i think the shinpad will move around quite a lot, and the guard stays might help a bit.
the adidas sock ties are the same as guard holders.
i recommened getting shinpads with straps if you dont wear football socks.

guess you have a point, without socks they are going to be probably very loose. Damn, that means i'm back to square one, need to find a shingaurds and don't knwo which one.
