do they actually affect how fast u are dependin on the weight, if say heavier boot lkie laser ii, would they make a big difference to how fast u run with them ?
MHuang
No it won't. Common sense tells you that a few ounces wont cause your quads and hamstrings to explode once you start sprinting. Even if you feel a difference, it isn't like your body won't get used to it.

I don't think boots make you fast or slow.
But I can't deny that I feel quicker in my Vaps. I mean they feel light and feel like they are designed to sprint in.
Especially late in a match or once another boot starts taking on water.
I mean what would you rather run a 100m sprint in? Track spikes or Nike Air Max?
If you're fast you're fast no matter what you are wearing but obviously you would rather have a shoe better designed for sprinting if that was your main consideration.

probably the only reall difference would be between say the SLs and whatever the heaviest boots on the market. all the other boots are so close in weight that it really doesnt matter

True tate but I think number10 hit the nail right on the head.
anish69
yea i didnt think the weight matterd that much, maybe a tiny bit difference

More powerful shot with a heavier boot?
glen sousa
oh ya i think so. the momentum of the shoes helps. both for shooting and for running.

yea i agree you can definately feel the difference, but i meant that the only actual difference in performance would be between the boots on either end of the spectrum. you feel faster in vapors becasue of how nike makes the sole able to spring back into place, you dont feel faster because they weigh less

Right so subject closed-- Get what feels comfy or that you feel you play better in and not for gimmicks.

To be honest, every boot will slow you down by like
mili-mili-mili seconds (if there are such things :S)
So the closest to boots that will make you faster, will be the boots that are the lightest. It will make a difference, but 99.9% not a noticable one.
Crofty
Scientifically, no. You might feel faster and more agile but in reality, in a match situation, its not going to make a tangible difference.

No, not that either. Tiny differences in how well you hit each shot (or long pass) would make more difference than the weight of the boot.

I find that i can to step overs considerably faster in vapours as opposed to predators so yes the weight does seem to make a difference but its not exactly game changing. You make trade offs and for touch id go with the predators every time.

My footwork is a lot faster when I wear vapors than when I wear say, Air Legends or Lasers.

Or maybe I've just gotten better, who knows..

Lighter boots will help you to move your feet quicker and run slightly faster compared to heavy boots, e.g. if it starts raining also the lighter boots would be really handy! But if you want quicker feet or to run faster just train with weights on your feet smile.gif

when trying different boots in the store, the vapor 4's felt really really light and it felt like i could take off compared to the laser and ps's. onyl problem was it was uncomfortable as hell and felt like my feet wouldnt survive 10mins wearing them.

for the stepovers i feel that i can do them better in lighter boots because they dont tend to be as bulky so i wont have to worry about clipping the ball with the extra thick leather or heal counter. and for quickness i agree with number 10 but really i just enjoy boots that arent bulky thats where i think the speed issue comes in.
