FGs bud. Wearing soft ground on turf is an injury waiting to happen.

Between HG & FG, HG is a better choice. The shorter the studs and the more studs there are, the more suitable it will be for astroground.
Also, to the original poster, wearing SG on astroturfs will not only reduce the life of your boots but more detrimentally, can cause irreversible injury to ankles and knees.

sure if you want to roll your ankle when you find out your SG studs dont dig into the turf at all.

soft ground boots are for soft ground, astro is not soft.

And in addition the sg studs can completely mess up the field because the studs break the frame for the field thats under the turf.

not sure what you call astroturf but if it artificial grass it really depends what exactly it is.Because I recently played on artificial grass which was soft not like a thin carpet and for example on this Bulgarian stadium, there are only 2 of this kind in the world as far as I know - 7th generation artificial turf UEFA approved official matches and UEFA matches can be played:

well the stuff i would be playing on would be the newer fields with those little black rubber things on the field, so i thought it might be okay to wear SG's on it then. would that be okay?

No , do not wear SG boots on a turf field , artificial field or whatever field that's not soft natural grass field .
I really can't understand , what could you benefit from that ?
El_Rare is right .

Just look at what professionals wear. Beckham wears HG boots on turf in the MLS. Some wear turf boots. SG studs would not stick in well. I know exactly the type of turf you mean because I play on it regularly. The bottom is weaved material with grass-like strands sticking up from it and there is rubber crumbs on top. SG studs don't penetrate the weaved material so you could roll your ankle. FG and HG blades are meant to grip the weaved material rather than penetrate it like SG does.
I swear, if Shane comes in here and takes the piss of the word "penetrate" I will end him.
