Chelsea are going to have a lot harder of a time breaking down Bayern than they did Barcelona.
First off, Bayern aren't a free-flowing, possession team like Barcelona who pass the ball around until they see an opening. Bayern plays either a fast-paced game that sees the ball in the other team's box in 3 or 4 touches, or they defend for 90 minutes.
They also have a better defence than Barcelona. Chelsea's fast counterattack won't work on Bayern anywhere near as well as it did against Barcelona.
I'll add more later.

I predict Chelsea to go through. The reason is their individual quality and their team is strong enough (physically) where Bayern can't bully them around like they do to teams like Schalke and Werder Bremen. Chelsea don't have a genuine playmaker-type player that Bayern could man-mark and him out. They have just as much of a physical presence as Bayern. And their individual quality is better in every position.
So realistically, I think Chelsea will advance.

Stronger teams are not always winners, bayern have what it takes to break down Chelsea if they concentrate well enough. They could do that against the onform Real or MU in their glorious days, surely they can do the same to Chelsea.
Chelsea are not invincible, and noone is. Simply as.

Hello dudes
Bayern are very defensive and can lock down teams and make the game very rigid and tough and that will be the state of mind they will adopt when going up against Chelsea who are very attacking and go straight for goal. Bayern will lock them down and pull more men back as soon as the ball passes their midfield and Chelsea will be saturated in Bayern players. Can Chelsea move through a brick wall because that it is what they will have to do and Bayern not so versed in strong attacking will do what they know best and keep a compact midfield and defense.
I think i chat with you before Shutoutj how are you bro?

I don't think Bayern very defensive, they're just solid in defense but always look to attack, Magath has a different philosophy from Hitfield.

I'm fine. How about you? It's been a while.
About Bayern, they are a schizophrenic team. Against some teams they play super-defensive, against others they use the quick service up the pitch. This system has served them well, although it's not necessarily the most fun to watch(at least when they sit back and defend it isn't). It's hard for me to tell which style they will use against Chelsea. Hopefully they will attack(for the fans' sake).

Chelsea is my favorite British team, but I am pretty confident that Bayern will go through. They are just too strong and accomplished. Chelsea have great moments and are entertaining to watch, for sure, but like the guy who above said something about 'going through a brick wall'...well theres something to that.
I live in the US and have always supported Bayern so I dreampt it up and will be flying to Munchen on the 11th of April to see the second game. From all of you over there in Deutchland...do you think I should try and get tickets outside of the Olympiastadium or should I buy one of the tickets off of E-bay...I guess what I am asking is how jacked up will the prices be outside of the stadium? Thanks.

Dont cry so much, he will live to play another day in European championship because both Pizarro and Makaay seem to be injured after Saturday.

IT would be a huge blow for Bayern if they lose both regular strikers, and even if Makaay can make it, he isn't fully fit and fresh enough for such a big match. I guess this time bayern will use 4-5-1
here's my prediction.
-------------Makaay or Guerro
-----Scholl/Ze roberto--------Sweisteigner/Deisler
--Frings-----------------Salihamizdic
----------------Balack
-----Liza----Lucio----Kovac-------Sagnol
---------------Kahn

I wouldn't say that. A 2-0 or 3-1 win at home would see Bayern through.
A 4-2 win for Chelsea is a decent result, but it hardly seals the deal.

Chelsea are lucky to face a bayern w/o Makaay, Pizzaro. I can't believe that they played Salihamidzic up front. Otherwise, chelsea are no better than Bayern. At home, i think the situation will change with the key trio back to business.

Injuries to Chelsea have been just as harming IMO, both full-backs out, plus the best winger (although I rate Duff very highly)...
Playing with Glen Johnson isn't great in a CL quarter-final, especially if he's got Ze Roberto facing him!

What about Rivaldo's cheating against Turkey?

i guess some cheaters prosper..
On a more serious note I definately think Bayern can still go through. They have only lost twice at home all season and in 15 meetings with English clubs, only Norwich City have won (in the 1993 UEFA Cup). Add the return of Makaay and Pizarro into the equation...things are looking alright for Bayern. They have already shown this year they can win 3-1 at home in the CL...it can happen again.

damn, Chelsea were lucky to eliminate Bayern. In the 1st leg, Bayern lost 2 strikers so they couldn;t hold up the ball up front and as a result chelsea managed to put more pressure on our defense to cause them make mistakes. if either Pizza or makaay had fit then, the situation would have been completely different.
Today, bayern missed many great opportunities to overcome chelsea. Chelsea fans are too arrogant and think they're invincible. For me, Chelsea are no way better than Bayern. Wait and see next time, we're certainly stronger with Lahm and new blood coming.
Btw, what a pain, both Kovac and Lucio scored each goal in each game for chelsea.

What're other big clubs??? Bayern, tiny club ?? don't tell me that's arsenal. Bayern, itself, are in the final games of CL more than all English clubs in a ggregate in the last 10 years. Plus Chelsea's were deflected by Lampards shot twice. Anyway, theres no luck in CL, you gotta do all it takes to score, Bayern tried that, Chelea however had a line of defence which included everyone except Drogba.

WTF does that mean Did you see that Ronaldhino goal against England what luck in quater final, oh but the lucky ones prosper, look at Rivaldo how he did that crying sequence and got a player a red card and your telling me cheaters never prosper as they won the World Cup.
In the semi final against Turkey watch the Turkish player run back from Ronaldo then move out of the way and let him shoot.
What does Bayern V Chelsea have to do with Germany V brasil, so your telling me Germany cheated in the final thats why they lost?
Go watch that game again one of the Brasil players takes a pot shot the save is deflected off Kahn and there is a German defender in front of Ronaldo closer to the ball yet somehow he does not try to get to ball and clear it .Ronaldo runs up being further away and has a free shot (what a cheap goal). After the first goal Germany is demotivated and give the game away.
