yea hoo could possibly say those are american football shoes. it sayas R9 on the tongue, also my freind had them and they look exactly alike the bronze one's. also ronaldo did wear them.

These were out in 1999-2000. I had a pair of these. They felt exactly the same as Vapors except with a thicker upper.

Ronaldo would have worn these if he hadn't wrecked his knees during that time.

Nike made them in black/blue, black/red, black/silver and bronze.

I remembered distinctively Laurent Robert of Newcastle wearing the bronze ones and Andy Cole (when he was at Man U) wearing the black/red ones.

Ahhh I love those boots. They're the R9 Match Mercurials. I used to have them in copper but I like the silver as well.

But they are definitely not american football boots lol.

I'm pretty sure that Ronaldo didn't wear those at France 98 tho. I think the boots he wore were just called the R9 Mercurials and they were silver, blue, and yellow, an earlier model of the match mercurial.

Ronaldinho wore the bronze pair of these when he scored that goal at midnight vs Sevilla. The long range effort after beating 2 players, class goal.. nice boots.
