ah, awesome! a golf thread! I play golf just causually, handicap of 27 (don't laugh I only started about 18 months ago). Favourite club would have to be 5 iron, just like to bash it around. I normally play with my dad and his mates or, Roque and Lampard08. I am a member at 2 clubs, Royal Hobart and Claremont.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nice i havent ever played a full course but i go to the driving range a lot. i'm gonna buy a set of clubs because its annoying to borrow some from the golf house all the time. do you know any clubs that are good?
How do you feel about today's US Open?

Yes, a golf thread, I was thinking of starting one myself but wasn't sure if anyone would post. I love to play and watch it. My favorite club has to be my 7 iron, doesn't matter where I am on the course, I use it for all types of situations. My family owns and runs a golf course so it is in my blood, I love it.

i'm glad to see people on sp like golf...most of them say golf is boring to watch in the other thread about boring sports to watch

Playing on a full course is great! much better than the driving range. I got my clubs professionally fitted, they are a brand called Rapier. I have a titleist bag and I use nike balls.
I am happy about the US open, NZ is close to Oz, so I was happy, good to see someone besides the usual suspects win a major

I didn't know either when I started, you'll pick it up really quickly. Basically the difference is that the lower the number on the club, the further it hits

Gotta love golf, great sport and really really good for a social occasion with your mates.
Got a golf course about a 3 min drive from mine so go there every now and then, use my 3 iron alot actually, probably my favourite club.
I have to say golf is the worst thing for your back, it's one of the main reasons why I don't play as much anymore.

Good, a golf thread. Well I play with scouser_14 and lampard_08 most of the time but I play with my dad and brother aswell. I would say I have played for about 18 months like scouser. I play casually, probabley every second weekend on averge or at least try to. I took a break now I have lost all form and I am trying a longer swing because it used to be quite short. Trying something new. My favourite club is the 3 iron because I seem to slice woods a lot and the 3 iron for me is easier to hit but I (used) to hit it pretty straight. I am going to fiji in september to play at Vijay Singhs homecourse so i want to get form for that. I also got to see pebble beach, cypres point, spyglass hill etc when I was in the us at chrismtas which was pretty cool. I didn't play though. Hope this thread goes well and look forward to the next major!!

Iput £10 on goosen to win the US Open at odds of 21-1, he was leading for three days, 3 shots up going into the final round when he shot the worst round of his life to completely blow it, was gutted big time

Boca123's Opinion......
Tiger Woods is looking really strong for this tournament. He understands where to play the ball and where not to. All he needs to do is execute now and he will be winning this easily. Last time he won be an amazing EIGHT strokes. which is incredible for this extremely hard course at st. andrews. Vijay is struggling and has fallen behind but will come back strong this sunday.

Yeah, I expect Tiger to run away with it now. Scary times for the rest of the field seeing as he's not chasing this time. I hope Michael Campbell does well again

Golf is a brilliant game, about mental strength aswell because you have a lot of time to think during a round.
I play off 9 at the moment, used to be lower but I've been taking playing football seriously in the last few years. Still play a round or two a week, but when I was at college I'd play a round every day, and often 36 a day during the summer.
Now the winter is approaching I can't play as much due to playing football on a Saturday and Sunday when United are not in action.
I'm hoping to sort a golfing holiday to Tenerife in the New Year with some mates. Always a good laugh, and some very nice courses.
Good to see some golf fans on here
