Guys, obviously it is for the better, if the Admins are doing it, they see it has to be done, and yeah, why are we moving?

for the better.. the move has been done for a while now. If yo are having troubles viewing the site or know someone that is..

holding the shift key while pressing the refresh window button usually works (thats the command to clear the cache for that page)

Just did that Shearer, and it worked, Im back on SP, woohooo, 3 days off it, i was starting to get withdrawal symptoms.

Ive never had any problems

Changing the Ip means most likley a server change, possible upgrading the current servers or buying faster more powerful servers.

Thats usually what happens, if you have troubles viewing a website (not just SP) try using a proxy. 9 out of 10 times you'll get into the site.

Your ISP has to have certain things updated and basially that takes some time, depending on your ISP it can take a few minutes to a few days if it isnt updated that often.

As the change is made the website address on my ISP's will point to the old IP address. Meaning that you type in the address and your ISP will try to connect to old (dead) ip address, so thats why you timeout and get errors. However once the DNS settings and such are updated on your ISP the address in your ISP's settings will point to the right IP address.

Did i pass the exam

This part is exactly right. We actually remained on our same server, we just had to reassign the IP address as it was causing some conflicts with the other sites hosted on our server that use the same one. We have a block of IP addresses that are assigned to us for use with this server, so we simply assigned on to SoccerPulse that was unused, thus giving the site a dedicated IP address.

Can i have a cookie for getting that part right

we have played around a fair amount today (hence some odd downtime) and feel we have found the config that will work. if you get an error; please do not email us or pm us! I have put a fail safe that will email us once this error occurs.
