I like the way nike designs but as an Arsenl fan i am extremely dissapoimted that for the last 2 season we have basically had to share our away kit with other away teams.
Last season with juve (blue kit)
This season with barca (yellow kit )

Also Manchester united's kit is somewhat similar to that of Valencia's away kit this season.

Seeing that fans in england have to pay £40 for the kits it is very dissaopointing to see that other major european teams are wearing the same colour as us.

Most brands use templates for their designs, then they design kits for the teams within those templates. At the very least, brands like to have a few marks or design elements that remain consistent through every kit they design. I think the problem with Nike's templates the last two seasons is that there is little you can do with them to make them appear different from team to team (with a few exceptions). Other brands don't seem to have that problem. Don't get me wrong, I have liked the Nike templates lately. Some of my favorite shirts in the last two years have been Nike. When you see them all in a row, they really kind of do all look the same. I don't know if this means that Nike are bored, so much as it may mean the designers' hands are tied by the mandate that they use the same template for every kit.

If you look at this season's Adidas kits, you can look closely and see that the new Bayer Leverkusen away shirt is the same template as the new Newcastle home shirt. But it is a template that lends itself to variety, and the two kits don't look much alike. But if you look at last year's Arsenal away shirt and last years Portugal away shirt, they still seem so similar. On their own, they are great looking shirts. But I think having the same template for every shirt discourages the kit collector from buying multiple shirts from their brand. It's like, if you have one Nike kit, you've got them all.

I'm probably reading too much into something so arbitrary. I just like variety in my kits, and I don't feel like Nike delivers that. Except for the Inter Milan 3rd shirt. Now that is beautiful, and it stands alone from all of Nike's other kits.
