hey everybody! Whenever my team doesn't practcie, I go out and practice by myself. Well I always have this schedule with me that I make myself so I know what to work on. Most of the times I work on the same things because I dont have anymore ideas. And this tends to get very boring (doing the same things over and over again by yourself). And this always leads me to staying on the field for 30 minutes and going home.I know that by continuing to do this, I won't get any better and therefore my chances of going pro are very very very very very slim. Do you guys have any ideas on how I can make my sessions more fun?

Thanks

bring a stereo with you while u practice your shooting or free kicks, learn ne wtricks n perfect the ones you know, improve ur speed endurance, i don't know how it can be boring, if u wanna be pro use all ur spare time to football, dream aout it, visualise ur elf doing things and don't be afraid to make mistakes.

Thanks for the advice. appreciate it

invest in an mp3 player...........i promise it will help. or bring along some good friends and go 1 on 1 with each other...it can get really fun
TheNeutral
yous see the problem is there is nobody to bring along, beacuse nobody really plays soccer where i live. and with the mp3 player i mean for example, i cant listen to it and practice dribbling. just wouldnt feel right.

but thanks anyways

I sometimes play on the feild next to mine and it has the goal posts etc and I do it simply out of boredom.
If im ot there with my mate doing it Ill be listening to my mp3 player and just running with the ball etc.
I would never want to do it pro but I do enjoy it.
Best song to listen to while training-Lose yourself-Eminem

just try listening to music....i'm sure once you do it you'll like it. or try to play games like see how many touches you can get and stuff.

pros play cuz they love the game (most of them/all of them at some point in their life) and playing football cant get boring imo cuz your practicing and doing all that stuff cuz you wana better your self..if you find it boring then maybe going pro isn't really what you want to do....i know how you feel cuz i went through the same thing id go to my local park kick the ball around for half hour then go home..but one day i sat down and said to my self if i really wana go pro and make a name for my self then i have to dedicate my life to football and every thing that comes with it and naturally practice comes with it so now i hust enjoy myself knowing that if i keep on practicing and getting better then my time will come...i got some trial in italy next year fingerscrossed cuz i went there this year and played some games there with my team and got noticed by some of the pro youth teams that i played against( acf fiorentina, roma, and some loer division teams) and i know that in order to even get looked at there i have to be at the top of my game so i just practice because thats the only thing to do ....
to make a long post short enjoy your self and remember that at the end of the day all the time you put in will make you a better player and person...plus i dont really like to listen to music either but when i just dribble with the ball its fine.

Just wondering.. Why not? Does it distract you or something?
I find listening to music makes training more fun, or just playing games or whatever, even if not all of your friends play football, you could get them together when you're practicing speed or doing plyometrics or whatever (not specifically related to football such a dribbling and free kicks I mean) and make games. Playing ultimate frisbee is fun, and also, you could set out lines marked certain distances away, get into groups of two or three, and have races while doing exercises. That's what I do anyways, and it's fun plus it gets you into shape.
For example, 6 friends, we get into groups of 2, so there are three lines. Person one in each group has to do jump squats to the end and run back, tag person two, and then repeat so you go through the exercise a couple of time each. Which ever team is last to finish, has to do 5 push ups, whichever team is second last, has to do 5 crunchies. Then you make another exercise, and each time you make a new exercise, the last and second last team have to do more and more stuff, such as now las place has to do 5 push ups, 5 burpies, and so forth and so on. It's good for a nice warm up.. Just some suggestions thumbsup.gif

one thing ive found listening to music while doing long runs. is that the rhythm of the music isnt the same as your breathing pattern so it disrupts your running and distracts you.....

Hmm.. that's interesting, I've never heard anyone tell me that before.
Well, for me, it doesn't distract me because my breathing pattern matches which foot i'm on: breathe in - right, left right; breathe out - left, right, left. shrug03.gif

yea........ my breathing pattern is the same.... always breath out on left.. in on right........

but with music... with the beat at a different pace of my running...... distracts.......

need to find the correct tempo of music

Oh I see, never had that problem smile.gif I can't stand not listening to music, it'd be too quite and boring for me. And I hate dead silence or just running listening to myself breathing.. it's weird for me.

enjoy playing football more. if you truly enjoy it nothing related to football will be boring, ever. at least that's how i work.

If I had an mp3 player I'd never leave the field.... I spend 2 hrs daily practice without one, imagine if I had one...

I will get one ASAP.

Why get a mp3? Just play a different sport when you get bored of football. You don't have to live with football. All the great players who play with the ball al the time because they enjoy it, not because they make a commitment to it. Even Pele said that he didn't play football al the time, he played various sports beside football.
