This is a thread dedicated to the best striker in the mexican national teams history. Borgetti who secured a move to English outfit Bolton Wanderers recently became Mexico's all-time leading goal scorer when his goal set Mexico on the way to a hard-fought 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Costa Rica.
"I'm very happy and I hope to keep scoring goals with this shirt, which I love a lot," Borgetti said.
So post anything about Borgetti here.

Borgetti, 31, has agreed a two-year deal and Bolton will have to pay around £1m to his current club Pachuca.
"I can't wait to get started - I will take three weeks off to rest and be ready to make an impact on the Premiership," Borgetti said.
"This is a great honour for me to play for Bolton in the strongest league in the world."
Borgetti will be the first Mexican to play in the Premiership.
He is Mexico's joint all-time leading goalscorer with 35 goals and will add experience to Bolton's strikeforce.
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce said: "His pedigree is excellent but the Premiership is still unknown to him and he will have to be at his best to make the impact we are looking for.
"It is a massive challenge for both the player and the club and I do know he has the mental strength to make it a success in England."
Allardyce has endured a tricky close season, with all his targets proving difficult to pin down - so far he has only signed goalkeeper Ian Walker.
Bolton fear over defender permit
The Bolton boss has now joined up with his squad as they begin their tour in Thailand and Japan and is confident he will close the deal on one more signing before the end of the week.
"I have started early negotiations with a couple of players," said Allardyce.
"I remain hopeful of bringing at least one more signing in before the week is out. If there is a need to fly back to the UK then I'll have to do that."
We will have to make up a song for the guy

Meanwhile, striker El-Hadji Diouf claims that he wants to see out his career at the Reebok Stadium after signing a four-year contract earlier this summer.
Senegal international Diouf said: "This is the best club I've been at.
"From the fantastic supporters to the chairman Phil Gartside, everyone makes me feel welcome.
"There is no other club I want to play for and I want to sign with the club for life."

He was in the squad for Bolton's win against Newcastle he won't start regulary for a while though as he is deemed unfit for the Premiership after playing 58 games or so last year in Mexico. But it looks all good for the Mexican's top scorer.

It was interesting to see in the four minutes he played against the toon and in his only chance at a goal (on a pass from Okocha) how the advantage of being the tallest guy in the Mexican league is meaningless in a League where his height is at worse low and at best average.
To score he will have to show that he has talent, especially in headers, and not just stature. Of course all you need to do is see his goal against Italia in '02 to see that the talent is there. Bolton is doing well early on, and as long as they stay top six or seven and he doesnt miss too many lobs he should be ok.

Do you think Jared can make a good work in England? I think he can do it but he needs more minutes

I saw Bolton play Newcastle and their system is very much designed for their wings to cross it into their center forwards. Both goals (Al Hadji Diouf and Stelios Giannakopoulis) were from crosses from the wings.
Kevin Davies played scrub garbage and hardly challenged in the air. I understand Bolton for giving him the start; after all, he is English and THEIR player for a couple of years.
Only in Mexico does a foreigner (usually overpaid) with no experience living in the country or playing in the leagueautomatically start b/c he's a foreigner and for the sake of spenditure; domestic talent is spurned all too quickly.
With time, he'll be the perfect target for Stelios and Diouf's incessant wing play and crosses. They served crosses for like 80% of their attack and chances will be there once he is given minutes.

Borgetti will be awesome for Bolton. I really think he will do well. His style of headers perfectly fits Bolton's style of play as you said. I really am looking forward to seeing him do good for Bolton.

Okacha is a beast. That guy is stylish on the field, I really like his style of play. Him feeding the ball to Jared will be a great attacking force.

Yes i think Bolton is a great team for Borgetti hes a natural born header master so this team is perfect for him.I think the combination of Okocha,Diouf,Stelios,and if im not mistaken Nakata is going tobe a deadly one for the other english teams.What do u guys think?

Borgetti Confident:
Jared Borgetti said he not only wants to win Saturday night's game in Columbus, Ohio, but to do so with flair.
"If we don't attack and play differently, people are going to say, 'Ugh, the team sure played ugly,'" Borgetti told the sports daily Record. "Winning's no fun that way, so we have to play like we always have."

Borgetti Adds To International Tally http://u.univision.com/contentroot/uol/art...tti_celeb_3.jpgJARED BORGETTI helped Mexico to qualify for next summer's World Cup Finals in Germany by netting a goal in his country's 5-0 rout of Panama.
The Wanderers striker was on target from the penalty spot to claim his 37th international goal.

Boca123 i agree with you.
i have never thought of jared as the best player in mexico, and i think people are all on his nuts just bc he ran into a ball vs brasil.
i think there are way better players in mexico than this guy, the world will really find out if he flops or not on the international club level. imo he will, i think he has always been better with the NT then club.

I think Omar Bravo will be the breakthrough player for Mexico as soon as he gets his chance he is strong where Borgetti is not (the ground) Kikin falls asleep during alot of the matches hes more of a super sub to me.

Borgetti Clebrates
Jared Borgetii is celebrating today after grabing his first goal for Bolton Wanderers it came in the 92nd minute of Boltons first ever UEFA Cup game.
Borgetti was a 2nd half sub and had less than impressed until stoppage times where he slotted a pass into the bottom left corner of the net, he finished it quite calmly and was deligheted with his strike.
-----------------------
Good on the guy he capitalised on some poor defnding to open his Wanderers account as Bolton ran ot 2-1 winners over Loko Plodiv in there first ever European game.

Borgetti Set To Lead The Line
Jared Borgetti, is set for a Premiership start, the Mexican's form in the Wanderers UEFA Cup campaign has sparked a loving for the Mexican in the North, West of England (Manchester, Bolton etc. just incase you didn't know where the north west was)
Fans have been singing his praises since he took Bolton into the group stages of the Euro competition, this support grew even stronger when he scored a wonderful half volley to level the Besiktas - Bolton tie.
The North American tallisman may or may not be going to the World Cup in Germany with Mexico but he's certainley going places with Bolton.

Must have slipped my mind, but Borgetti got on the score sheet agin last night, scoring a 64th minute header against West Ham for Bolton in the English Carling Cup. I'll find an article later. But I've got something coming up for you guys right now.

I think his style of play doesn't match that of a counter-attacking team. Too many 1 on 1's, Borgetti is the type of player who can make goals as long as someone is feeding him headers.

Before he joined Bolton I would have agreed but since joining bolton most of his goals have been with his feet from Bolton counter attacks, I think he'll go theres still a month of the EPL transfer window open so plenty of time to pack.

Jared Borgetti held crunch talks with Bolton bosses this week, the meetings follow Borgetti's concerns that he won't make Mexico's world cup squad due to a lack of first team football. Even though Borgetti confirmed he wanted to stay with Bolton he wanted to know why he isn't getting to play. He stated that he would move if things got too bad.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think he should sick it out El Hadji Diouf is going to The African Cup of Nations next week and could miss quite a few games meaning Borgetti will get the chance to impress.
He only played 36 minutes though, it was his first EPL start aswell he was taken off for tactical reasons when Bolton went down to 10 men. Shame really.
