Probably bcs those are more comfortable boots. I am constantly being told to get umbros my older ppl, bcs they last longer and are comfortble. Maybe he doesn't like the newer umbros? idk

They are great boots, ive had a pair when I was about 10 and they lasted me for about 2 years solid, theyre great quality and very comfortable.
