Adidas have claimed that the usage of Dubbin to clean boots can have a reaction with the glue used on the boots and cause the leather/synthetic to come apart at the toe. Does anyone have this problem?

I had this problem with 2 pair's of Supernova's and now it's beginning to happen to my Copa's, and this has happened in the space of less than a year?

Anyone's stories of the same problems, or heard any info about the usage of Dubbins on boots, or have any solutions to the problem share it!

wats dubbin?

Lol - it's like a cream sorta thing that you use on leather to nourish and 'moisturise' it. It assists in preserving the natural properties of the leather under extreme climatic conditions.

THat shouldn't happen, I don't use dubbin I use a beeswax thing, it works much better, your boots will last twice as long. Any glues used for leather boots should not react with dubbin, thats ridiculous. I am very surprised this has happened because of the dubbin.

I am not saying that the boots have split directly because of the usage of dubbin. I read in an article that adidas have claimed Dubbin has a reaction to the glue used and may cause it to break down.

What is the beeswax stuff you use and where do you get it from? I have been scouring all over the net to get some Chelsea Leather Food but the postage is too expensive to send it to Australia.

Got it at some convention thingy, got three tubs of it, they have last about 7 or 8 years. It rocks, I am sure you can get something similar online.

What's the name of the product?

Use Chelsea leather food. It won't seperate the sole.

Yeh i've heard great reviews about Chelsea Leather Food and have looked absolutely everywhere over the net for it! I have found plenty of sites that sell it at a reasonable price. However, because i live in Australia, the postage prices are ridiculous and i would never spend that much. If anyone finds a store that ships it to Australia at a reasonable price, PLEASE TELL ME! I'm desperate for some!
