Jenas is a Spurs player
dreamlander
Why, what fromation is Jol gonna play....a 0-10-0. The amount of midfielders spurs have now is ridiculous, that makes 12, counting Huddlestone as 1 that is, even tho i think he is a better CB

I dont know, ask Martin Jol smile.gif Think its good that he signing. of courese we have to sell players know... I agree it is to many midfielders.. But you have to agree that jenas is a good player? better then mendes and davis?w
Juve_dude
Wow, another midfielder for spurs, thats absolutely crazy. Hes a good addition to the side, no doubt about that but there are just to many midfileders at Spurs for him to realistically start every game, Martin Jol's dug himself into a pit here which he'll need help to get out of.

Bad loss for Newcastle, they'll need some real luck this season... even with Micheal Owen and Alan Shearer up front.

mate, I think Jol has a plan. Jol know what to do.. Just wait and see...

I think this is a good signing, more quality players at the ckub, can only be good in my eyes, I know I wasn't sure about it a while ago, but once Davids, Brown and possibly Mendes are all gone, our squad will look pretty nifty.

Well its the final day of the transfer window, means f5 will be seeing alot of action today, as I keep refreshing SkySports until we sign a striker!!! Wooooohoooooooo
dreamlander
i wouldnt mind Micheal Brown...i think he is a quality midfielder.

And yeah, with Everton chasing Robbie and Freddie gone, that leaves Mido and Defoe, or am i forgetting someone...

A couple of reserve players like El Ham. and Mark Yeates but not players that should be considered regulars just yet, I hope we don't sign Luccarrellliiii and go for Cole instead, hes a bit more british than lucccarrrelllliii so I think he will be able to settle better and really do well for us and possibly England, plus Cole is 22 and luucccarrreellliiiii is nearly 30!
nobster82
A good bit of business for £8 million especially as when Arsenal were SUPPOSEDLY interested, Souness came out and said he would only let him go for £20 million, I like him a good player who can learn a lot off Davids.

At least you got him instead of Arsenal, doubt they ever were interested they dont like english players.
OliverW
you needed a good premiership attacking midfielder, its what your lacking... you could see in your first few prem games... fair enough you played well in them but with Carrick AND Davids playing similar styles its been tough getting the ball and running at the defense... if you played a 4-5-1 with davids, carrick and jenas you would be great or if you played 4-4-2 and rotated carrick/davids with jenas and got the balance right spurs could be a dominant team.

great signing despite all the midfielders you have... 12 midfielders.. 3 per posistion, wow your becoming the next chelsea..
anyone know how much this deal cost? cause i remember souness saying he wouldn't sell him for any less than £15-20m..
Harry Hotspur
Its a £7million deal and he has signed a five-year contract. I dont think we will change our formation, but he and Davids will be rotated for this season and Jenas will be groomed as his successor, Great signing IMO well worth the money, plus he was another Arsenal target who has joined us, I remember Wenger saying he would sign Defoe, and all talk was about Jenas to Arsenal, but again we've got what they wanted but probably couldn't afford!

Take Carton Cole at your peril. Look at his scoring record for us last season...and he played more games then any other striker we have i think. He's awful and certainly not a player i would want anywhere my team again.

I would much rather Lucarelli if i knew he would score more than 6 goals coz thats bout all Cole will get...

Yeah but that was a loan deal and he always had other things in his mind like his Chelsea future and plus he was new to living in the midlands, not forgetting that he was injured every other week.
I just think if we can sign him permanently, plus he wont have to move out of London, also he will be playing regularly, I think he would be a great signing, he has shown what he can do for the Under21s, so he definetly has potential. If we sign him and he can fully focus on his football then I reckon he will be able to form a great partnership with Defoe.

I agree witch you. Luca is a top goalscorer! Cole is a man for the future doh.. but Luca got expirience and that is very important... We will sign more strikers in the future i belive.
But I will have Robbie instead of Luca. Dont want to see Robbie leave.

Ok you use the living away from London as an excuse, what about his loan period at Charlton, or and againn its away from London but what about at Wolves against far inferior opposition. Sorry but i think that if he is gonna be yer 3rd choice striker, coz even if ye keep Keane, jol seems to really dislike him, then ye are throwing away all the great sigings ye have made for midfield and defence. Mido isnt the most regular of goalscorers either and i think without a 2nd player who can get into double figures, or ye get an injury to Defoe, ye will e fucked and throw Europe away.

My Opinion im afraid

Yeah the evidence is there for him to fail. But I just think a fresh start for him, where he is playing week in week out, given with a bit of confidence then I really think he can become a top striker.

Mido isn't a 15+ goals a season striker but I reckon Cole can be, I think he and Defoe would be suited to each other and I really think they could work. I really do hope that we dont sign Lucccaaarrreeelllliiiii, its not that i dont think hes a good player or anything, I just think that its too risky, it will take him time to settle living in England and playing in the premiership, plus he's almost thirty, does anyone know if he can speak English, as that would really put even moredoubt in my mind about him signing if he cant speak the lingo.
Deadly Defoe
give mido time... He hasent played many games for spurs...thats sad.. When he is back he is gonna shine! hope we buy him after this season.
dreamlander
i guess your argument about lucarelli is fair alright. Kinda suprised and glad ye didnt go for MILAN. Anyways, just saw Lee is sealed and signed to ye. Last few hours of the transfer deadline will tell alot.

I dont think Cole is the answer, but i hope ye sign him coz we are gonna push ye, Bolton, Boro and everton for Euro spots thumbsup.gif

You'll push us definetly, Bouma is a great signing, you need to keep Solano though.

I guess time will tell, but I really do think it will be Cole instead of Lucarelli, seems the wiser choice to me.

Now its more likely that Luca comes and Cole.. Looks like spurs have given up Cole? i dont know.

Super signing, amazed at how fast it happened blink.gif

Now clinch the Lee young Pyo deal and you've got a UEFA winning squad right there.

Jenas is gonna be a hit! Wasent the asking price for Jenas 15-20£?

Do ypu like my sig spurs_fan? remember I ask do copy yours..hehe fish.gif

bad for Newcastle, good for us. i like him and hope he will do well for us smile.gif
maccaria
lets hope he settles quickly and can score a few more for us than he did for the toon (15 goals from over a hundred appearances doesn't exactly scream attacking midfielder does it ?? wink.gif )
energy41
yes, some more goal scoring would be good, but its important too to create goals and if gets this job done very well then we will surely have a lot of fun with him despite his goal scoring problems.
Deadly Defoe
yes, hope he scoeres some goal.. I think that the midfielders in spurs scores few goals and should score often.. is jenas attacking medfielder?hmm.. thoug he was more defensive.
energy41
i don't know exactly but i think he is more a defensive midfielder than an attacking midfielder.
Deadly Defoe
He is not a special goalscorer but i hope that chances in spurs:)
~Soccerism~
exclellent, Jenas is a very good young midfeilder whos International and Club career will be enhanced at Spurs, hes better off here with all Newcastles current problems and all.A good buy by Jol yet again.

Jenas can be both an attacking and defending midifelder but hes best played in an attacking role becuase the other defnsive roles are takne up by Davids and Carrick, he should score a few goals this season, he has a good shot and good dribilling skills and power going forward.

About the Mido issue, hes a terrific player, we all know that but Jol needs to start him more to really prove himslef to the fans, some are loosing trust in him (excluding me) for his ability infront of goal, however, now Defoes on an incredible run his time to impress this season might be numbered. rolleyes.gif

Why do spurs go after every single player we wanted?

We wanted Carrick long before spurs and then spurs buy him
We wanted Baptista Spurs comes in with a bid
We wanted Gouvu last year spurs come in.
We wanted Jenas spurs buy him

edit: and the reason why they try to buy everyone we buy is because in the past 10 years or smthing, arsenal and spurs spent the same amount of money on players, but yet we are more successful than them so now they decide to copy us and try to buy even player we are linked with.....

well you cant deny ye do try and challenge Arsenal in every possible way.

ye either get linnked to the same player or a player of similar value and ability on a constant basis.

i don't think we copy Arsenal, we make much more transfer moves than them + there is no need for good clubs to copy other good teams.

NO NO NO you mean theirs not need for Mediocre clubs(Spurs) to copy BIG clubs(Arsenal)

Cant wait till we play you and beat you again.
Joel.
Back on topic. Spurs have signed another good player ther. Martin Jol seems to be working wonders with the calibre of players he brought in. Jenas IMO was a little over priced.

Another excellent addition to the Spurs squad, looking forward to seeing what this boy can really do.

He goal today was Really good and intelligent i hope we -including me- could lay off his back for a while , he has a perfect record against the scum anyway.

yet he's not worthy of a fresh, new thread, eh?

Jenas is a weird one, moments of brilliance, then utter annoyance.A confidence player. I rate him but I always think what if with jenas. What if he could play consistently week in and out.
