i dont think so, the v1 is designed to replace the cellerators - having said that there was reports of a black/yellow colorway coming out but thats just rumour

okay, i was just wondering, are there two different models of v1's?
cuz on justsocca.com, they label the shoes as "Puma v1.06 VELOCITY"
but on pictures of peoples shoes, there seems to be a tag on the inside that says "speed"
I talked to the guy at my local shop a month or two ago, and he showed me all of the pictures, and i remeber there being different models, but i thought they were called something different, like a v3, or some other weird name.
Could someone help me out with this?

First post for me, but i can help with any PUma questions.
There will be one new cellerator color, only available in the US. It is leather, and it is silver with black and yellow accents. Release date is 1/7/06, which means probably the end of Jan!
The V-Konstruct will replace the cellerator, and the V1.06, is nearly an ounce lighter than the vapors. Any other questions let me know.
I have been job shadowing the Puma sales rep in my region for the past few months, so i have all the latest updates and info you will need, all the way through next fall. I am hesitant about posting pics because they are copy written, but i will do it in a PM if someone walks me through the setup to load pics!
Sorry to make it so lengthy, but this is Hello, and i'm glad to be a part of something great like this! Cheers to everyone!

Well wouldn't we all love to try them out for free before buying them! I am with you on this my friend, but like every other supplier, samples are only made in a US 8.5. I wish Puma could send everybody a free pair of boots, but it's not that easy. At puma, sales reps are supplied with only one shoe of each model, color, sg/fg, etc. The one shoe meaning the right, or the left shoe. Usually a sales rep in a nearby region has the matching opposite boot to complete the sample set. When they are done with the sales promo, and as long as the products are not carried over to the next season's line of gear, sales reps can "release" the samples. The rep i am shadowing has boxes full of stuff in his basement that he sells for nearly peanuts. For example, a pair of Puma Cellerators has a MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) of $185. Wholesale of that is about half, so you can call it $95. The sample price is usually close to "half of wholesale." So when you see a price in a store, divide it by 4, and that's about what a sales rep pays for his samples. I paid about $45 for a pair of sample cellerators... not bad if you can squeeze into a 8.5!
I can tell you that there are big plans for Puma in the coming months. You will start to see more promo's and comercials on TV for the V1.06 in the coming weeks, as the African Cup of Nations is starting. Africa is one of the largest showcases for Puma athletes. Cameroon was one of Puma's pioneers (remember the one piece kit!), but failing to qualify for the World Cup has caused quite a headache and made us rethink the whole marketing campaign. It was set to be centered around Samuel Eto'o of Barca and Cameroon, but he won't be at the WC! Pires has been one of the better recognized athletes of Puma, but he can't get into the French squad. I'm sure the people behind the scenes have got something up their sleeves, so we'll have to sit tight!
As I mentioned earlier, samples are hard to come by. I unfortunately do not have any that I am at liberty to sell, but it will only be a another month until the first two colors of the V1.06 is released. The Konstruct is what I am most anticipating, and I am actually trying to get a hold of a pair in my size from Carlty! Please keep the questions coming, and thanks for making me feel welcome!
P.S. If anybody is a Tottenham supporter... Defoe and his teammates are going to look the part when they take the pitch in their Puma kits next season! shhh... you didn't hear that from me!

Yes the V1.06 is in productions in the red and the white colorways. Their official release date isn't for a few more weeks, but professionals are now wearing them and you're starting to see pre orders for them. Everyone should have them in stock within the coming weeks. The ones you see floating about online are samples or possible stolen goods from production factories. Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks for the welcome! The V1.06 is made of Schoeller Con Tec microfiber. It is a 4mm woven polyamide material with monodirectionally integrated Elastan. In other words, it is a man made material that is super thin, and super lite!
The V1.06 concept is designed to make velocity and how fast an athlete can get from point X to point Y. The "V" simply stands for velocity. And you were spot on with the 06, it represents forward motion and the year we are in! Nice work. Anything else let me know.

Here is the newest colorway for the V1.06, which is called "grass." It's pretty innovative and edgy, and I'm pretty sure only Puma could pull it off! They actually look really good in person so don't go slamming them just yet! They're not for everybody, but for the few who could pull them off. I'm not even sure who will be endorsing them yet. I'll try to get a few more pics up here later on. Cheers.

And don't worry about the size, just as long as it doesn't stretch the screen out, it's fine.

I got a question
There are 4 kids I kno who have the Puma execs and they have all ripped away at the sole and fallen apart within 2 or 3 months of having them
Will the v1.06 be the same
any feedback will be appreciated
Becks9054
Jan 10 2006, 11:51 AM
that's a great question, asked by a lot of people. the execs do tend to split from the sole. I love them but i've been through 3 pairs now. It's unfortunate that it does it, but Puma has been very understanding of this problem and will always send you a new pair.
as for the v1.06, you won't have to worry about that problem. the reason for this is, they were able to use a completely different assembly technique as opposed to leather boots. the v1 is made of synthetic, so we were abel to use a glue that can with stand much higher temperatures, therefor making the sealed areas that much more durable and resistant to tearing. the v1 will be very high quality in terms of durability!

I've recently got execs in black.. one of the comfiest boots i've ever played in - seriously soft leather and the soleplate is so flexible its brilliant - only downside is the stud configuration doesnt give a lot of arch support (on the SG version anyways) - still a quality boot tho
everytime i see a new pic of these i want them more and more. The heel is soo nice. Cant wait to lace them up

Puma has really started competing with Nike and Adidas in terms of design...I am so glad.
I have always felt that Puma has been an under-appreciated and under-rated brand, which makes quality and great looking boots. I just feel that their designs weren't always breathtaking or different enough...there wasn't enough surprise element.
Lately, with the introduction of newer Cellerator models and advertising, Puma has really started pushing in more.
I wish there was a Puma shop in south Africa, because I would buy their boots in a flash!

Well, to be honest, I am more happy about the brand's rise in popularity...I don't really like the Konstruct, but the others are great!
But I still love the KSL...the fine mix of new and old design, the simple yet eye-catching design, and the great effect of the colour combos.
