I'd much rather the synthetic ones. I held both in the Puma shop in Sheffield and the leather is really thin and uncomfortable - look nice though.

Not diggin those pumas much. The leather looks like paper mache and the rest of the boot is just weird. pretty much everything else puma is doing rite now is class though

I got my yellow v 1.08s today and wore them at training. They were tight at first but after a half hour they formed to my foot. By far the best shoe I ever wore. I ve worn vapors ever since they came out and even had the fours. These are much better. I was worried about it raining at practice and wearing them but they were still great in the wet. Very impressive shoe.

Those pumas are honestly ugly. They also kick up at the toe and that must affect your performance. I liked the last version of these but the newer model are probably the ugliest boot ive ever seen.

Please describe??
I'm really feeling Puma at the moment, I love the original Puma Kings but I'm not a big fan of how the Exec looks. I've no doubt Puma could make an updated 'classic style' boot to rvial the Legend and Adipure, could be great but it needs to avoid that 'boaty' look like the Execs have.

damn you! i haven't had a chance to see them yet. are they still quite similar in terms of the gold embroidery etc?
morientesfan910
Mar 20 2008, 06:13 PM
They look like a classic shoe. There is gold writing and it is black and white. It has a heel support but its in the heel, like they made it and put leather over it. Instead of an external heel counter. The tounge feels padded and its white but velcros like the legend tounge does

Are these what you're talking about? (The pair in the pics is a Hard Ground pair by the way)

Mar 20 2008, 09:13 PM
YES!!!!!!! and are those with the studs that move a little? i saw a pair of regular fg and then a hard ground pair with some studs in the fore foot in the middle that are a little softer then the surrounding studs, and the move more so they dont grip on the field turf

They aren't mine, so I'm not sure.
morientesfan910
Mar 20 2008, 11:03 PM
oh. well i know those are the hg ones and you can see the cleat is raised even so that it doesnt allow the little grit asscoiated with field turf to slip in the shoe and ruin it

The Puma v1.08 are the best cleats that I have ever used. In the beginning it was very tight, but it got molded relatively quick to my foot. And the weight of the shoe, my god, its nonexistent. When I'm running with these things I can hardly tell I am wearing anything on my feet since they are so light. It DEFINITELY makes a difference when running with these cleats compared to the crap I've used before. I highly recommend these cleats for anyone thats interested.

Puma really are on it at the moment, those new Kings look wicked - just like I'd hoped. Basically, the old skool look with a bit of modern technology, like the Legend and Adipure. A little nicer than the King exec too. The V1.08s are nicer than the latest Nike/Adidas alternatives as well, and whilst I don't mind the new Preds, the V Konstrukt are as nice and wipe the floor with those ugly-as-sin Lasers!
Random Puma question, which has been bugging me; On Pro Direct Soccer, the pictorial example of personalisation on Puma boots says ' EV 9'. Usually, these pics on PDS reflect a pro player. Who on earth is E V 9 who wears Puma? I'm scratching my head, so if anyone can put me out of my misery...

are those new puma kings replacing the king exec's or are they going to be a limited edition boot?

I think they're replacing them because I havn't seen new colorways for execs in quite a while.

QUOTE(Mazz @ Mar 25 2008, 05:16 AM)

add a V somewhere and it's Etto
and the Puma Kings, judging by what i've been told about them, are an anniversary boot because this is Puma's 60th year. i think it would be logical for them to replace the Exec's, but i wouldn't be surprised if it's a one-off boot. because it's a reissue of such a classic boot, i doubt they'd make other colours etc. but then again, the Adipure (even though it's not technically a new Copa Mundial or World Cup) is available in a couple of different colours. so who knows
i think Morientesfan would probably be able to shed more light on them than me

Just came back from a local sportstore. They had puma v1.08 indoor samples for 19.90 euro. Skeletons and black gold(which looked amazing). But they had only one size
