Man f*ck you stupid ass white boy. I bought a pair of concords in Mexico and they have lasted me for over 3 years and I only paid $40 American. Meanwhile makes like Adidas Absolutes didn't even last 1 complete season and my puma v3.06 L are already falling apart after 3 months as well so shut the f up
Mr._Yellow_Shoes
True that, an all district striker on my team has some concords (he wears to practice not games) and he swears it is the best cleat he has ever bought
shiggity789
Mm stupid ass white boy, calm down there tiger.

Back onto topic. I've had 2 pairs of Synthetic V1.06's and 1 pair of K-leather V1.06's and now I've got the leather trainer version of the V1.08, now I love the V1.06's but my trainers are absolutely god awful to play football in. I was wondering if anyone knew if the actual boot version of the V1.08's was better in compraison to the trainer, cause I love Puma but the durability is killing me on the 1.06's.

so why doesn't he wear them in matches? sofunny.gif
TATE It To The Next Level!
Idk what the hell v3 L's are anyways and concords are all plastic anyway arent they? so im thinkin thats why they are mor durable than the leather boots you are comparing them to. And shiggity, I'm sure the v1.08s are more durable cause after all, the v1.06 was the first boot of that kind that puma had ever made and im sure they have found ways to improve on it.

he does not wear them in matches because we play on really wet grass (not from rain, just that they are always freshly watered) , and the studs on his are worn down and he slips all over the place, for those matched he wears sg tunits

Quadruple post much, there Mr Yellow Shoes?
I was hoping someone could get me a review for the v1.08 trainers, leather or synthetic.

Mr._Yellow_Shoes
Amen lol anyone try on the umbro X100s how is the sizing compared to the supremacy's or the vapors?
Jose Razo
For me, the high end shoes really dissapointed. I don't know how other people deal with it. A shoe costing 200 dollars should last at least 2 years...I bought the concords mainly because they looked good and behold they have lasted an eternity. Feels like a rip off.

Has anyone had the v1.08? The toe box looks raised it seems like it would effect long balls?

Has anyone had the v1.08? The toe box looks raised it seems like it would effect long balls?

I've got a pair of the x-ray v1.08s. I grew up on Copas and kangaroo leather, before synthetic shoes became high-end, so I was pretty skeptical of the v1.08s. --But I've played 5 or 6 matches in them now, and I'm really happy with them. The ripstop fabric provides great touch, and the glossy, plastic material really softens up with use (and with heat from my feet, I think).

To answer your question, the toe box (and the hard toe "cap," which is really part of the outsole) is relatively low profile. In fact, the shape of the boot's toe is very similar to the King Execs. The toe cap hasn't affected my getting under the ball at all. That said though, I'm lucky enough to play primarily on pretty nice natural grass and artificial grass fields, all of which are really level. --So that makes keeping your toe down as you swing your foot, and getting under the ball, a lot easier. On one occasion, I've played with my v1.08s on a lumpy, uneven, natural pitch, and it was a lot more difficult to play the ball properly there, in part because of the hard toe cap.

Puma obviously intended the toe cap to help with durability, and when you see how sturdy the stitching is between the toe cap and the upper, you'll have no concerns about the upper separating from the sole. --Simply raising the meeting of the upper and outsole above and away from the ground helps a ton with durability.

Also, something I hadn't anticipated was that the hard toe cap is really helpful for the occasional toe-poke shot or emergency clearance. --You barely have to flick your foot forward to send the ball blasting off the toe cap.

My only concern with the v1.08s so far is with the durability of the coating on the ripstop fabric. If you look closely at my pictures below, you can see where it's been worn away just a bit on top of the right boot. --That's from someone's cleats coming down on my foot. I'll be watching closely to see if the coating starts to wear away more.

Those are great man, I have the same pair, and if you notice there are words in the camo, like "I'm gonna meg ya", and "Pride" pretty cool.

I think these are just odd, the look alright i guess but still odd. They remind me of a Rugby boot.

PUMA KING XL-

Introducing the Puma King XL, the relaunched football boot from Puma celebrates 40 years of existence.
There are few football boots that stand the test of time and have an iconic reputation. Football boots that have been adorned by some of the best footballers the world has ever seen, football boots that are as highly rated today as they were decades ago. When you think of this select group of football boots, the Puma King proudly stands as one of the legends in football boots.

Puma King XL
The Puma King celebrates its 40th birthday this year. First introduced in 1968 as the “King Eusébio” to honour Portugal’s legendary Mozambican-born soccer star Eusébio da Silva Ferreira who was the top scorer at the 1996 World Cup.

Over the years, the King became a legend and was worn by legends. The world’s greatest football stars wore the King including Eusébio, Brazil’s Pele, Argentina’s Maradona and Dutch maestro Johan Cruyff.

This month the Puma King will be re-launched worldwide with a limited edition collection to celebrate its 40th birthday and will be worn on-field at Euro 2008 by Italy’s Massimo Oddo and Germany’s Thomas Hitzlsperger.

The Puma King was born when Eusébio, after scoring nine goals at the 1966 World Cup, worked with Puma to develop a signature football boot which debuted two years later.

It featured increased ankle protection, soft, subtle leather and exceptional ball control. The appeal of the Puma King and the marketing around it was so powerful that consumers were no longer purchasing just a product – but a state of mind and a sporting image as well.

Worn by Eusébio, Pele, Maradona and Cruyff, the football boot became synonymous with reliability and success, selling millions of pairs over the past four decades.

The Puma King will be relaunched worldwide in May and the limited edition Puma line will be available in a special Rio red colourway with gold trim inspired by ruby, the traditional 40th wedding anniversary gift.

The Rio red colour is also seen in the national flag of Portugal, the country Eusébio represented at the World Cup. The special collection will be printed with the years “1968-2008” under the iconic King logo to recognize the 40th anniversary of the Puma King.

For the traditionalists amongst you the black-white King collection will arrive in stores one month later. The football boots will feature MCMLXVII logo on the sole.

Puma King XL Tech Spec

The Puma King XL (XL stands for Roman numeral “40”) football boot stands for quality, heritage and tradition. The newest edition includes classic lines and traditional styling, but with updated materials, enhanced features and new design details.

With raised bead line, toe overlay and lateral stability insert inspired by the Eusébio boot 40 years ago, the new King XL is executed with today’s best production technology. Super-soft, ultra-thin full-grain leather is complemented by a high-density silicon heel counter and conical firm ground stud construction for optimal stability and maneuverability.

The upper is embossed with a leaping cat logo on the vamp and King logo on the lateral side – with the limited edition version featuring the “Eusébio 68” signature.

The limited edition collection football boots will launch in selected stores May 29, 2008 with the traditional black-white products hitting retailers globally on June 28, 2008.

the toe on the pumas look very pointy like the v1.08's hope the fit is not the same, that would be a tragedy.

Yeah I absolutley hate narrow toe boxes on boots, it ruins the entire feel.

Speaking of queer-

We are all used to seeing top international footballers flashing their bling when out and about.
Gold chains, designer watches with diamonds aplenty, flashy earrings and huge jewelled rings. If it’s expensive, they’ve probably got it. Or two of them. And one for the wife.

And now Spanish manufacturer Kelme have taken things to a brand new level with the release of a range of football boots and training shoes that, shall we say, dazzle.

The boots and trainers are embedded with Swarovski crystals and are going for around £350 a pop.

They’ll be available soon from Kelme and, should you happen to be in Austria anytime soon, you can go and see them all on display at Swarovski’s Kristallwelten Musuem.

Of course, Kelme have a reputation for producing football boots at the luxurious and expensive end of the market. You may remember ‘The One’ boot, a limited edition boot of which just 500 pairs were made to order.

‘The One’ was constructed from 90% Shark leather (good in the wet then) and retailed at around £300.

After shark leather and crystals, we await to see what Kelme will come up with next. Perhaps a boot for Barcelona players which will stop them from being so appallingly bad the next time they face champions Real Madrid.
