BIKKEMBERGS TIROSEGNOIntroducing Dirk Bikkembergs latest football boot, the Tirosegno.
We love the way Dirk Bikkembergs launches his football boots. Conformists suggest that you should get a handful of famous footballers together doing a few keep uppy’s, perhaps even talk about the football boots in a press conference when you launch a football boot. Not Dirk.
The new football boot was launched at the Stazione Leopolda, Florence. In true Bikkembergs tradition, the Tirosegno was displayed sixtyfold on top of black lacquered columns and overlooked by 10 gigantic pictures. These pictures were at first hidden by black curtains in an even darker room. The guests received a torchlight and discovered the reflective qualities of the Tirosegno while walking amidst the columns. One by one, the pictures were uncovered during a countdown, at the end of which the room was totally lit up by a set of dazzling stadium lights coming from behind a stage packed with football players wearing the football boot, 100 in total! Now that’s a launch!
Tirosegno
Dirk Bikkembergs has launched his second generation football boot, the Tirosegno (the last football boot was called Bix). The name Tirosegno, was named to reflect the significance of the radiating circles found on the football boots, and should be read as a combination of the words ‘tiro a segno’. This means ‘target practice’ or more symbolically ‘launch’, ‘kick’, ‘to score’ or ‘signal’. We’re not sure what relevance ‘signal’ is, but the others are pretty apt.
The new football boot aims to be the number one designer football boot with top performance qualities and fashion upbringing. Four versions of the Tirosegno are available, soft ground, firm ground, astro turf and indoor.
Testing was done by Dirk Bikkembergs’ own football team (how cool is that?), F.C. Bikkembergs Fossombrone and more conventionally by Italy and Juventus stopper, Giorgio Chiellini.

The upper is a one piece micro fibre, blended with a reflective 3M material. The result being an alternating reflective and non reflective array of circles on the football boot. The 3M material makes the football boots very visible with even a low amount of light hitting the Tirosegno football boot.
Dirk Bikkembergs said of the boots:
“The Tirosegno reflects the essence of the two worlds I stand for. It is the result of a unique project in which I confronted the exclusivity of fashion and the universe of football in the right proportion. What you will see is a fashion jewel with top performance qualities. What does a player want more?”

Those actually look surprisingly nice.
By the way, don't wanna sound like a mod, but people please don't quote that, its too big just say the Bikkembergs.

Ive seen some FG Umbro Specialis for £8 at a local store and im in need for some FG boots really, they are really comfy which is ideal for my type of gameplay, but how do they hold up in the long run?
Has anybody experienced this boot before?

The boots look a bit daft IMO. And the material looks kinda plastic. However those Bikkemburg T-Shirts with the logo on them that are also out are very stylish.

We've got some Nomis Glove SG's and Spark FG's at work, both for £36! Ridiculous prices! I've already got the Black Pearl SG, and I don't really use them tbh. But I'm very tempted to get a pair of Spark's just because they're so cheap! I will use them eventually, but I don't know atm.
Plus, we've got 3 colours of V1.08's (Red/White, Dandelion/White, Dark Shadow) in both SG and FG all for £90, which I think is pretty sweet!!

I can write you a small one if you like it;
The boots are a little long, I'm a 6½ normally and they fit like a 7. It seems to me as if its the toe box that is longer than my Vapors that fit perfectly. The fit is snug, and they are hard to get on for the first couple of times. But once on your foot, they fit incredibly. The touch is brilliant, and you hardly mention wearing them when playing. Furhtermore, the stud config gives you a nice accelleration even when running at what seems like full speed - at least it did to me.
They are easy to clean, and the heel cap is solid and makes me feel safe. But, like with Vapors, be careful not to get stepped on, its gonna hurt. A lot.
Im a little busy right now, but i you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Jul 29 2008, 05:38 AM
i dont really understand why people talk about how thin the upper is so if you get stepped on it hurts more. To me if you get stepped on you get stepped on and it still hurts. Ive worn legends, vapors and v1.06 and if you get stepped on it hurts whatever.
MHuang
Jul 29 2008, 08:56 AM
The thinner the upper, the more give a boot has when you get stepped on by studs. Know why it doesn't hurt when people step on your toes and you're wearing say Timberland boots? It's because the upper in that case is ridiculously thicker than that of vapors. Plus, two of the boots you mentioned have undoubtedly the thinnest uppers available.

It hurts none the less if youre stepped on, but maybe I'm just unlucky to have felt the worst pain when wearing Lottos. I think there is a connection between the thickness of the upper and the pain felt though.

As in the only Chester, yes. If you're in the city centre, go into the Grosvenor shopping precinct, and go to what is pretty much the back of the centre, and we're there. It's not too difficult to find really. This is slightly off-topic I know!

Hi guys, could you help me out. Heading into second year of college so yet again another season... I play fullback and occasionally on the wing, the thing i need help with is what boots should i use?
Last season i used the Reebok Sprintfit (not the £120 version) the cheap version and i never felt anything good about them, they gave me blisters on my heel most of the time but i find that they never moulded to my feet. If i got the Sprintfit Pro version would i be more successful in avoiding blisters etc?
I was considering either Kaiser 5's, World Cup or Copa Mundial boots but i can't decide out of the two, though Kaiser's are going for £50 on Prodirect. Would these types of boots be good for me when playing on the wing?
Lastly i have seen that Vapours are going cheap on Prodirect as well (one pair) and they are generally good for wingers and i love dribbling with the ball so are these good boots for me? However i have read reviews and they said that they got blisters all the way through the season...
Anyway if you could help me out it would be gladly appreciated.

Avoid Reebok, as their products generally aren't accepted to be on par with Nike or Adidas. You can't go wrong with Copa Mundials, but I've heard of durability issues with them. Vapors are generally a good choice for anyone, and blisters can be a problem at first, but if your feet fit them well after you break them in, they become some of the best boots you can have. The blisters also eventually go away.

Cheers mate, ye i've always got Reebok astros because i liked the style and they were different but the boots didn't have any sort of comforting material at the heel or anything so i will probablu avoid them from now on. I will probably get the Vapours because i want to be able to get the best out of my position, are their any other good boots that tend to benefit wingers? I've heard good things about R10s or Nike Air Legends as well, but i guess for £50 Vapours you can't go wrong (reduced from £119

)

Legends are nice, as well as the Puma V1.08s, even though they may look funny.
Generally, whatever fits you best and comfortably will allow you to perform your best. A lot of the boots I mentioned only get better the more you use them, like vapors, which I have and love after the break in period. Good luck finding a boot you like

Thanks for the reply mate, ye they are actually the ones i have been considering the most. I think ill go with the Execs because the Vapours aren't too forgiving in some areas and i want a boot thats more about technique. They look damn nice as well lol.

Yeah both me and my brother had King Execs they were crazy comfortable, you'll like them.

Jul 31 2008, 09:49 PM
Ok so i have decided to go with the Konstrukts... Plainly because the Vapours don't seem my type of boot, the Execs don't last a great deal of time so not very good for my money and the Konstrukts look like i would enjoy wearing them and nice leather material (i read that it has Kangaroo leather of some sort on parts of the boot). So the last bit of advice i'd like from you guys is what size? I read it is a wide fit and may stretch to become even wider, i would say i have quite wide feet as well but if i get an 8 (which is my size) will they grow to be too big for my feet? Should i get a 7.5?
james.
