I think ur right in saying that the Michelin performance makes the boot truly unique...it's cool that different companies are working together too...I just wish the actual Michelin man wasn't on the shoe. I wish it just said "Michelin performance", regardless of whether or not that changes, I will probably end up getting the new X-boots. I also like how Umbro is going away from bladed FG to circular FG, not that it matters, but it is always nice to see change
Umbro has 3 stud types
Bladed FG
Studded HG
Studded SG
So those could be just HG's

Strangely enough they are available at a store here in Sweden just a couple of kilometres away from me...We haven't even got the black Vapor 3's here yet!!

...And this is not a Lotto store, it's quite a big chain.
My friend took the boot that was displayed because it was in his size but he couldn't get his feet into them.... I think you need some sort of shoehorn which I think is included in the box...

QUOTE
Too Big For Your Football Boots
Two teenage brothers may have to quit football, because their feet are too big.
A 13 and 14 year old from South Yorkshire may have to curtail their potential of professional football as their feet are too big.
Centre half Aynsley (14) and goalkeeper Asher (13), both play for Rotherham Boys Under 15’s and want to turn professional. However their future in the game is in doubt because they cannot buy football boots big enough for their feet.
Aynsley, who is 6′ 3″, currently wears size 14’s, but his 8 month old football boots are falling apart. Asher, who is 6′ wear size 13, but his football boots are now too tight.
The boys’ parents have been searching for large sized football boots, but without success. They have been told that UK manufacturers only make football boots up to size 13. Such was their desperation, they contacted Liverpool FC, to find out where Peter Crouch buys his football boots.
The result was not the news they were looking for either, as Crouch receives specially made football boots and a special order for his Puma V1.06 football boots would cost £189.99, at least £90 more than the regular price for these football boots.
90 quid more for Crouch to have his huge boots specially made for him...Maybe these kids should look into Nomis boots because they're going up to big sizes.

a kid was on the news and he had size 18 feet or something mad, i dont think it was the one you were talking about because i dont think he had a brother in the same situation
edit: ah, he was a rugby player;
linkQUOTE
A 14-year-old boy can no longer play rugby - because he can't find boots for his size 18 feet.
Carl Griffiths, who has beaten leukaemia, believes the chemotherapy and steroid treatment are responsible for his 43cm feet, reports the Mirror.
The 1,92cm school boy said: "My feet have grown two sizes this year and are still growing. I've tried everywhere to get boots but they only make them to size 15."
His security guard dad Wayne, 38, said: "We think the growth spurt is due to the treatments. We've mentioned it to the consultant. They are puzzled."
Wayne and Carl's mum Michelle, 36, have since bought size 17 trainers from the US - the only footwear that fits.
Carl, of Trimsaran, near Llanelli, was eight when he was diagnosed with leukaemia.
His feet are double the average British man - but late US actor Matthew McGrory had size 29s. - Ananova.com

nope, they were just made using crap glue. At first it was just a small separation, and then I played two School matches close together on really wet heavy sufaces and loads of mud and grass wedged itself in, and somehow it opened further. Then i was having a kickabout in them yesterday, and the plastic sole bit got caught on the ground and bent over an that made it a lot worse.

i'm thinking about buying these and i need to know just one thing cus generally my boots don't separate like yours or at all even in boots where i frequently hear people saying it split on them.
but yea back to the question.... did you clean them after use, that helps a great deal cus if you get a liitle separation then when mud gets in wet then dries it'll create a more separation. i always clean my boots so i might overlook that problem.

Okay so like you must've had really bad luck to get 2 pairs in a row that split or you just like kicking the ground =P
I took some photos of my pair...just went through a season in them (australian winter)
After the first couple of times, the front bit started splitting a tiny bit and I used a tiny tiny bit of superglue to hold it in place. Now the glue is pretty much all worn off so the boot is holding itself together.
I dunno if I just take super good care of my boots or I'm just lucky (I do clean and wash them after every match etc etc) but my V1's are actually in extremely good conditions after I was scared a little bit when it started splitting a bit after one or two matches.

You see, the material does wear out and bit and the material discolours slightly, but definitely no major splitage!

the main issue i'm seeing is being caused by a sacrifice that puma made to make the boot lighter, that is, there is no bolt or nail in the front of the bootso the boots would just rip away from the front. aswell if you buy it snug, it would be the most stressed part of the boot and that would increase the likelihood of it splitting.
it's dumb to me but i suppose you have to make sacrifices to be the lightest boot in mass production.

while that is true, i feel that companies should consider stiching the uppers. it would get rid of a lot of sole separations, because i think it would help more than 3 rivets in the front and back of the boot. wouldnt cost much for the companies probably, and would save a lot of returns.

Yeah, kinda like Lotto soccer boots. They are stitched in the upper and enhances the durability by miles.

I know it looks like I treat my boots badly in the pictures, but I actually take really good care of them. After every match for the first eight games i played in them, I cleaned them using a toothbrush and a dove bar of soap (lol, works like a dream). The pictures are from later during the day in which I had been earlier playing on a really muddy pitch where the big sepaeration opened up, and i felt a bit discouraged and didnt think it was worth it cleaning them just for the pictures.
Dunno, i'm right footed(split was on my right boot), and theres no sign of separation or splitting on my left boot
Left boot:

Whenever I turned sharply I could feel the side of the boot (where the sole met the upper) stretching a bit, but not sure why they came apart so much on one boot

I was in my local sports world today and saw Umbro xai 6s even though i hadn't heard or seen anything about them at all. They were the Take down version of them and seemed to be black-outs as they did have some detail on them but it was all in black apart from a xai logo near the tongue.

and what does everyone wthink happened to the pro pump reebok range? do you think it's for proffesionals only? i personally think that the idea was scrapped because the system broke when/if you got studded in that area.
