Germany and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn believes that only time will tell if Jurgen Klinsmann is the right man for the Germany "team-chef" position.
The national team skipper, on tour with Bayern in the United States, told the club's official Web site: "I think the DFB is looking to break out in a completely new direction. Jürgen Klinsmann is a hugely experienced former player who’s seen a lot of the world. He’s an experienced player although obviously he’s not an experienced coach, although neither Franz Beckenbauer nor Rudi Völler had coaching experience when they took on the top job. Fundamentally it’s a very, very new situation, and we’ll see how it works out."

Klinsmann is widely expected to form a new management team this week with Holger Osieck as assistant coach and Oliver Bierhoff as team manager.

On the Bayern captaincy where Kahn is believed to be under pressure from Michael Ballack, Kahn said: "I’m not thinking about it at the moment because it’s not that crucial to me personally. My priorities are to focus and reach peak form, that’s what matters to me. We’ll get round to the captain’s role soon enough, and I’ll talk to the coach personally about it."

Caoch Felix Magath is said to prefer an outfield captain, but has yet to announce who his captain will be going in to the new season.
