Hier Regiert der HSV!!!!

I looked for a separate HSV thread but couldn't find one. I take it there's not many HSV fans around here then

Well I'm a big HSV fan (and an English one at that

) and hopefully I won't be talking to myself in here.
Oh well, hope you guys don't mind that I started this thread...and to start things off, I'd like to say the following:
Daniel van Buyten is a donkey. I hope VDV has a great season here and Sergei Barbarez, sha la la la la...
Danke.

We've had a good start to the season..our best for 18 seasons!!

Just need to keep up with the consistantcy and get a little bit of luck and top 5 is more than possible.
Sir Thomas Doll certinaly is pulling out of the mire that Toppmöller got us into a couple of years back.

right, teams like Gladbach or Mainz need to beaten then good things can happen, because they lost too many points last year vs small clubs.

Sep 2 2005, 03:38 PM
Oh yeah, we need to beat the teams "below us" before we can aim for the bigger clubs and move forward to these great things.
And I'm confident it can happen...although not too confident

I've got a few mates that are Spurs fans and when it was announced that he was coming here, they said things like "you'll love him" and "he'll become a legend".
Well we've certainly taken a liking to him. When I first saw him touch the ball against Club, he looked like a newborn baby deer trying to find his feet

But yeah, he'll become a legend for us - I love him already

Sep 2 2005, 03:50 PM
yes, the way he dribbles is cool and funny.
i think at spurs he was crap from what i've heard and read.
we should watch out for Reto Ziegler aswell. hope he does well at HSV like Atouba.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me

I went to the AWD Arena when it was still under construction a couple of years back. First game back after the winter break. I watched my HSV get beaten 3-2, in the rain and I sat in the area where there was no roof...soaked and miserable, although it was only a short trip back to my town

Thanks for the welcome too, my fellow HSVer...kinda

Hamburg coach Thomas Doll told the media that he doesn't like the way Germany coach Juergen Klinsmann choses his squad with many young players:"It's a bit funny that young players get their call up after like 2 or 3 Bundesliga appereances.Klinsmann should wait longer with his call ups."
this quote seems to be especially meant for Cologne centre back Lukas Sinkiewicz who has just 7 Bundesliga appereances, but already played once for Germany.
i think Doll is actually right, but Germany has a centre back problem so i can understand Klinsmann.
what do you think?

HSV played 1-1 vs Copenhagen in the Uefa Cup.
they had good chances to win and should have got a penalty with 10 minutes to go but the bad refree saw no foul

.
they had luck when Copenhagen hit the bar and the post during one minute with around 8 minutes left.
they missed some key players so the result is okay.
Hamburger SV: Wächter - 16 Klingbeil (57.Trochowski), 4 Reinhardt, 5 van Buyten, 3 Atouba - 20 Demel (88.Ziegler), 14 Jarolim, 7 Mahdavikia, 23 van der Vaart - 32 Takahara (57.Kucukovic), 11 Lauth

I have a very bad feeling that Hsv won't win thursday. I bet they're thinking "ooh we beat Bayern, we are so good, we'll win 5-0 vs Copenhagen" etc and then they get a wake-up call when Copenhage score an early goal or something like that..

Sep 30 2005, 05:03 AM
He didn't do too much during the game. A couple of good dribles now and then, but nothing major.
The referee was an absolute scandal though. The two penaltys he gave HSV were both jokes. One of them was when the ball hit a Copenhagen player in the stomach. That for some reason was a penalty, according to the ref. He also gave a red card for a foul that should have given a yellow tops.
Hsv were extremely lucky to get such a gift from the referee. Otherwise they would have been out.
They are gonna have to send him a couple of bottles of fine wine, as a thank you.

oh man, what a luck for the club.
i think Boulharouz was just sentoff for his second booking. i haven't seen it because i decided after the first penalty which Barbarez missed that i will go to bed

.
at least they made it to the next round
Hamburger SV: Wächter - Demel, Boulahrouz, van Buyten, Atouba - Wicky (61.Trochowski), Jarolim (72.Takahara), Beinlich, van der Vaart - Barbarez, Mpenza (83.Lauth)
goal: 0:1 van der Vaart (90+2,pen)
sentoffs: (90+5) Möller, (90+5) Silberbauer / (84.) Boulahrouz

both pens were jokes and the ref was the biggest joke ever

We deserved it... When your team plays 180minutes only in defense then theres no way you deserve to advance. We had enough chances and indeed we were luck with the penalty, but there were 2 furthere incidents where a penalty whistle would have been the right decision.
I guess we will rock this year so hard in every contest...

VdV was very very poor during his last season and a half with Ajax but before then he was constantly linked with Arsenal and Manchester United. He looked fat and slow for Ajax and like he had lost motivation. He looks rejuvinated with Hamburg and I've just seen his goals and assist from the weekend and he looked great again.
Can Hamburg keep hold of him if he keeps up this form and plays well in the World Cup? Or will he leave after one season to go to a "bigger" team?

i think it depends on how Hamburg will finish the season. i think its likely that he leaves when they miss out on CL and Uefa Cup.
but actually i heard that he and his wife like it in Hamburg, which i can understand, so i don't see him leaving too quick.
he also will think of which club wanted him and gave him a chance to play in a big league so if he is grateful then he should stay for years.

Hamburg lost for the first time this season on saturday 0-1 vs Wolfsburg. after there was some trouble after the match on the pitch van der Vaart got suspended for 3 Bundesliga matches while demel has to sit out 4 times.

he was sent off AFTER

Hamburg match because attacked the opponents coach or something like that, have just seen it when it was live.
demel was hitting one opponent with the thing he uses to save his legs(don't know the english word lol) but just TV replays made his suspension possible because the refs didn't saw it.
Doll was suspended after he had to go in the stands because he left the coaching zone too often in Hamburgs last Uefa Cup match.
