any advice? & why? thanks a lot
Tim14ManUtd
it depends on your budget... copas are less then a hundred, f50's are over a hundred... also i have heard that the f50's are really awsome boots except that the seams on the front of them rip really easily and the copas last a lot longer

so the copas are more durable

I have the F50's and they are really comfortable and have excellent touch but they are starting to rip right wear the mesh material meets the yellow stripe. And I've only had they for about 6 months.
stickguy13
both are great. i've had copas for about 3 seasons and my F50's since they came out. both are in great condition. you just have to take extra care of the F50's

Ive never tried on the copas. what do they feel like playing in?

Hi
I have a pair of F50's and they are awesome. I personally think the copa's are a bit dated. banana.gif

Holy crap...I can't belive some of you have never even heard of the Copa before! Only 10-15 years ago or so, 80% of all the pros were wearing Copas. There's a reason they have been around for so long. But to each his own, I guess.

The F-50's are quality but the fit is a little messed up because of the different insoles. Each one is of a different thickness...making the fit with each insole different.

I've tried some of the 'modern' boots. I think I'm going back to copas.....sweet fit, especially for my wide feet.
mufcforever
yeah id never heard of copas somebody had to tell me and no wonder us people are young(i'm only 11 ) and you guys are old wearing grampa copas or wateva

btw, i went to the shop & i can tell you that the leather is really soft. its so much different from the other k-leather boots.

that is nonsense. players wear them too. dont judge a book by its cover. buying a pair of soccer boots is based on personal comfort & preferance

I own both copa and f50. Let me break down some aspects of both boots for u.

Size/fitting : My copa is uk7.5/j260 and f50 uk8.5/j270. Copa seem to have smaller sizing. My copa fits like a T when I wear thin socks and a bit tight with thick socks but still ok. For F50, i'll need to wear thick socks, I sometimes regretted not getting half a size smaller, but i remember having difficulty slotting into the half size smaller one bcos of the restriction at the opening by a not so elastic band, when I did slot in, it actually felt tight. Eventually I settled for uk8.5.

Feel/comfort : Prob bcos of the size i got for F50, i actually feel that the front is wide, I have no complain from heel to before toes, but toes onwards, it's a bit loose. For copa with thin sock, the fitting is good. F50 has thicker cushion under the leather compared to copa, if u are one player who needs to 'Feel' the ball, copa is beta. I'm a central mid, copa gives me more 'feel' when i distribute those diagonal passes. My passes can actually go further with copa. F50 has a thicker tip than copa, as such 'chip passes' are easier with copa.

Durability : My copa shows sign of 'crocodile jaw' after just 1-2 months, I was disappointed. It could be due to the way I clean it after game, I remembered it was rainy season then, I had to wash it with brush instead of cleaning it with damp cloth, after it dried, I use kiwi wax to condition them. My attempts to glue it with sneaker glue actually aggravate it. The tip of the white plastic sole does not curl up as much as F50,in my opinion, it makes it easier to open up. Anyway, the right toe portion of my F50 too open up after 3 months. I wish adidas do a perimeter stich for their boots with lotto did for their stadio. Perhaps, its the way I clean and condition my boots.

I hope my experience can help u to make the correct choice.

Bingo - I think the clue is in his response when he said he's 11. I've met far too many kids of that age who seem to think anything expensive and brand new is automatically the best. I also had one kid telling me my Umbro Specialis sucked but he wouldn't tell me why apart from "Because Umbro are crap".

Anyway, Copas are THE football boot. In any field, if you get something that's been around for that long and is still highly regarded and has a place in the modern game then you know something is right with it (same can be said for Gibson Les Paul guitars - around since 1959). They are well made, made out of excellent materials and fit the way players want. Just yesterday Joe Cole was wearing them for Chelsea.

i have the f50's, they are pretty comfortable and reasonably light, but when it rains they get very wet, am about to buy some copa's for hard ground and astroturff
tom_thequiff
i love my f50's, i love my f50's la la la la la la!
i have the silver and black f50's, and have used them twice so far, but it was a three way choice between them, Avieros and COPAS.
I like the copas, little mufcforever respect your elders, those boots are older than YOU!
ehehe. I prefer F50's...
Dava
^i have them same f50's and i worn them in about 4 games and at the front the silver has already started to come away., but besides that they are very nice boots to wear.
tom_thequiff
ye well, that stuff hapens with coloured boots, but i still love em
ive got a full match tommorow afternoon, so il tell you how they hold up and feel.
(im also not using the F50 soles atm, im using my old mania soles, they feel more comfertable)
metropolis2k
Yeah the front of my silver F50's has gone more grey than silver but you can't really notice it.

I also noticed how wet they got. Not only do they take days to dry after washing but I played a game on saturday and it pissed it down - I was squelching all around the pitch. I think a lot of the water was in my socks to be honest but they still aren't very waterproof.
tom_thequiff
hehe my F50's are lush!
i scored twice today, and the feel was super sweet. The ground was pretty much dry though, so no comment on the water absorbtion.
