There's been a lot of inappropriate banter in a few topics recently, so i've set up this topic where you can take a shot at Spurs or whatever, no useless banter is to be posted elsewhere, only here.

All posts in this topic must comply with the Soccerpulse board rules and in particular, no direct/personal insults are to be made.

To quote the banter topic in the Scottish forum:

All banter, winding up and jokes go in here. NO SECTARIAN, RELIGIOUS, POLITICAL or RACIAL discussion is allowed. NO DIRECT INSULTS WILL BE TOLERATED.

Its a banter forum, to get one up on another team, not an excuse to break SP rules.

It is to be the same here.

What do you notice about that photo? Thats the actim top players stats. in the top 49 there is one arsenal player.

Yeah looks like that ONE player is gonna be out for some time!

I expect Arsenal to still be below us by October 29th when they visit us, or atleast after we beat them, they will drop below us. biggrin.gif

No Henry, means no goals, no pathetic goal celebrations and well no Arsenal really, if you were ever looking for an example where you could use the words ''one man team'' look no further than Highbury Library. wink.gif

It feels like you'll be eating your words in the not too distant future.

Once Henry goes and Arsenal start to fall to pieces, Wenger will either leve or move upstairs, and by then players like Jenas, Defoe, Carrick, Dawson, Routledge, the list is endless...................... Once they are all reaching their peak you'll be so far below us, I'll be asking you that question.

You're never gonna win the Champions League mate, thought you would have realised that by now. Even Vieira says that Arsenal will not win it.

Chelsea are gonna piss all over ya for the Premiership, and a Spurs v Arsenal ''mickey mouse'' cup final could end up being the highlight of your season the way you lot are heading.

True, there have been some suprises in the past, but you've got to admit, you don't look like a side that is capable of really going all the way. I mean if your missing Thierry Henry than you basically ain't gonna score any goals.

Your defence is a down right calamity at times, Senderos is ok, but he doesn't exactly fill you with confidence does he!

Toure is ok, but he seems to extravagant at times and can switch off too easily, but he has a lot of pace which is a major advantage. I think you desperately need a fit Sol Campbell back to partner Toure and maybe your defence will improve, but I think Lauren is sometimes over-rated and does get beat easily if you come on his inside.

Lehmann, well again he doesn';t excatly fill you with confidence. He isn't a bad keeper, he does make some good saves from distant shots but, your defence is a shambles when defending corners and you half expect Lehmann to make a mistake whenever he plays.

Also, Arsenal does have some promising young players, but I think we do just edge you out in this department.
We have atleast one quality youngster in almost every position, and Arsena; maybe have 5 or 6 good young players.

Reyes is the best of the bunch, Cole isn't a youngster he's about 25.
Toure maybe but Fabregas and V. Persie are definetly two of your best youngsters, but other than that there isn't too mnay that you can say that will be definete regulars in years to come, possibly the young Italian striker you have (can't remeber his name) and maybe Clichy could be good replacements but Owusu Abeyie I don't think will make the cut, Bentley is leaving which is a huge mistake for Arsenal and I can't really think of anybody else.

Then you look at Spurs, Defoe, Mido, Routledge, Dawson, Carrick, Jenas, Kelly, Ziegler, Lennon, even El Hamdaoui should have a very bright future but whether that will be with us or not, we'll have to see.

Arsenal definetly have more world class players currently but the younger generation at Spurs is far more promising than what you have at Arsenal.
-YounGunner-
Well said mate.

Two Points

1) The Cup Winner's Cup's name was not changed to the UEFA Cup, the UEFA Cup is actually older than the Cup Winners, they were seperate tournaments that were merged into 2000.

2) Spurs won the Cup Winner's Cup aswell, so by your wrong reasoning they'd have 3 UEFA Cups.
-YounGunner-
It was even better then the ufea cup

The Cup Winners' Cup was a football club competition between the winners of the European domestic cup competitions. The cup is one of the many inter-European club competitions that have been run by the UEFA. The first competition was held in the 1960/61 season, and the last in 1998/99. The competition was then merged into the UEFA Cup.

No club managed to retain the Cup Winners' Cup, although FC Barcelona won it on four occasions (1979, 82, 89, 97) and finished runners up twice (1969, 91). R.S.C. Anderlecht won it twice (1976, 78), and finished runners up twice (1977, 90); in addition, four finals over five years between 1993 and 1997 saw the holder reach the final the next year only to lose (Parma 1993 and 1994, Arsenal 1994 and 1995, Paris Saint Germain 1996 and 1997).

During its existence, the cup was regarded as the second most important European club competition out of three; behind the UEFA Champions League and ahead of the UEFA Cup. It was eventually scrapped however, as in many new European countries the domestic cup competition was seen to be of little value compared to the prestigious, old tournaments of Western Europe, such as the FA Cup and the Scottish Cup. In addition, these cups were often won by the domestic league winners who would then qualify for the Champions' League leaving only the runner-up to participate.

MY point is to answer SPURS FAN question if we have any and i said we do i dont care how much times then won it
Arsenal FC
Two European victories came in 1970 against Anderlecht and in 94 against Parma.

Against Anderlecht we were 3-0 down but came back to win 4-3 in the two legged game. On the way we knocked of some great teams including beating the Ajax team who went off to win a hatrick of European Cups.

1994 we knocked off a flair filled Parma team who were massive favourites and were one of the best teams in the world at the time. We were also missing Ian Wright. We really had a rather average team yet beat them one nil thanks to a Alan Smith Volley.

Those are the two European trohpies weve got. If they had a European cup in the 30's we would have pissed it in no doubt.

Despite only having the two trophies we have has some massive European games.

man, the sad thing is that we are not allowed to play in the UFEA Cup, so we can't earn a spot for this competition.

Why? Spurs will for sure make europe this season.

So Arsenal's Euro exploits is the subject eh?

How come Arsenal never have been to a Semi-Final of UCL let alone a final?

Grimsby ahahahahhahaha shame on you and your rubbish team Spurs will never be a big club.

Better then Arsenal you must be having a laugh.

USELESS
JJ87
Never be a big club. We have already been a big club so your theory fails I'm afraid. Have you really got nothing better to do with your time?
deletethisaccount
"Never be a big club" HAHAHA

We were the first team to win the double we have won the FA cup more times than i can remember and we have won the uefa cup winners cup. What the f*** is your definition of a big club.

Maybe you think a big club is dictated by the amount of legends that graced our ground erm now let me think.
Greaves, Jennings, Hoddle, Gazza, Lineker, Ginola, Klinsman, Ardiles, Villa, Blanchflower just to name a few.

So what if we slipped up against Grimsby, these things happen, it just means less mid week games for us and its not as if this has only ever happened to us:

How about last year Manchester Uniteds rediculous 0 - 0 draw against NON LEAGUE Exeter in the 3rd round of the FA cup AT OLD TRAFFORD!!!!

We have beaten Fulham and gone 4 places above you lot so how about you shut up and worry about how useless gooners are without vierra and Henry. Arsenal have lost 2 games Spurs have lost 1 and we lost ours to Chelsea WITH 10 MEN!!!!

I cannot wait till the 29th of October, Davids is gonna kick your team all over the field and ill be in the shelf singing "stand up if you hate arsenal".
Harry Hotspur
Thought it'd be interesting to revive this thread, given the current situation between Spurs and Arsenal.

Look gooners, you've got your very own ''take a dig at Spurs thread''.

Beware though we've got Edgar Davids in our corner and he ain't no soft touch! gun2.gif

I'm feeling very anti-arsenal today after forcing myself to watch that excuse of a game of football on channel five. So here's my anti-arsenal stuff for today. No doubt this mood i'm in will become more frequent as the season draws even closer.

This vid quickly put a smile on my face. I strongly recommend this for any Spurs fan who's not in a good mood. This will certainly do the trick.
