i think as true real fans we should also take care of our second team, just because our prospects are playing there.

they have played 3 games so far.
1. Xerez C.D. - *Real Madrid B 2:1
2.Real Madrid B vs Hércules 3:0
3.Murcia vs. Real Madrid B 2:1

current position: 14 with 3pts

i will add news as soon as possible
Carlos™
Indeed.
To add to this, RM Castilla has been finally found a home, as their brand New Stadium located in the Mega Sports complex built by our very own Floren Perez.
It will hold up to 6K - 8K people, and it also has the training fields for the first team.

It has 6 Fields for the minor teams, and a big stadium for RM Castilla.
Real Madrid also have their own area for their training, and player homes are soon to be built.
jiggarm
in RMTV they said that it will hold up to 15 K people though... thumbsup.gif

Aaahh ok, so I was wrong about this.
What else did you hear?
Marco.
would this be another addition to your stadiums around the world??

taking care of our prospects should be a big priority of the mgmt. this is where the senior teams future lies. not some other youth camps, particularly brazil...
Blue Madridista
I realy hope we stay in this division

Here are some more updates

Top Scores:

* Soldado - 2 goals
* Valero - 1 goals
* Barral - 1 goal

PS> Dont u mean thread

As soon as I have some good pics I'm gonna do the 2nd divisions around Europe... It just.. well I dont feel like doing it just yet. laugh.gif

Just a question, lets say they finish first in the second division are they allowed to play in the first division???

Nope.

Also in the very unlikely event in which Real Madrid were relegated, RM Castilla would also be relegated into 2nd Div B
Nando.
I think this actually happened once. Castilla finished champions but were forced to play in the 2nd division. They have also reached a Copa del Rey against none other than.... Real Madrid. They got thrashed that game but an impressive feat nonetheless. They have also played in European competition (Recopa i think).
Markus78
4th game has been played at home. our b-team lost to tenerife by 1:2. we are now on place 19 in the standings. next game will be in gijon vs. sporting who are currently 5th in the league.
Nando.
It looks like RM Castilla is struggling at the moment, this was expected however. Segunda division is a VERY tough league played by men. RM Castilla is a team made of kids and it looks as if they are a bit overmatched now. Let's see if they can get over this initial shock and start winning a few games.
Markus78
i think they are doing quite fine so far. as you said nand0 this is a team of kids. they are holding the competition so far. all defeats are just by one goal. what makes me postive is that our teams has scored on all 4 games. i think they will end the season somewhere between 12 and 15 which is very good i think.
Nando.

It would be huge for the club if Castilla manages to stay in segunda for a few seasons. Segunda will also help attract much better players I think (hope) to Real.

4th game played vs. gijon. we draw them 1:1. next game is at home vs. valladolid. we have no 4 points out of 4 games. currently our team is on spot 20.

Damn not doing so well... Well it's only the beginning of the season, I think 7 games out of 40 have been played and we have time to come back later on for sure.
Nando.
Castilla won today against Poli Ejido at home 2-0 with two goals from striker Roberto Soldado, and crawled out of the relegation zone. The team didn't play spectacular football but it was effective. The scoreline could have been greater if it were not for two legal goals that were disallowed. Soldado's goals were both very well taken, the first being a spectacular volley off of Left Winger Adrian Martin's cross, and the second coming off a great play by LB Filipe. It was a good morale booster as they were coming off a bad loss to Levante (3-0), the team with the highest budget in Segunda Division.

Castilla is currently in 18th place (out of a possible 22). No one expected Segunda Division to be easy, especially considering the fact that many of the best players dont get to practice with the team as they are practicing with the first team. The most impressive players so far have been Soldado (7 goals in 9 games) and the RW Balboa, who we saw debut against Depor last week. Balboa has been a pleasant surprise this season and his dribbling skills have earned him the nickname Robinho II.

i'm really pleased with their season so far. i think more wins will come when the adjustment goes on. soldado looks like a real deal so far. it's also good to hear that balboa is doing fine. maybe there will be a juanfran/balboa right wing duo in the near future.

i think we will stay in segunda division. don't forget this is a young unexperienced team who will get better by time.
Nando.
It would be a huge accomplishment if they manage to stay up. It has to be so hard for the players to juggle with the first team and Castilla, especially considering the fact that they are playing men in segunda. Segunda division is a very tough league with some very experienced veterans. I think it would be pretty miraculous if Castilla manage to stay up. Once the injured players on the first team come back, the Castilla players will be able to focus more on their own team.

exactly and i believe or first team will benefit hugely if the castilla stays in segunda division (hopefully for a very long time) it's just the best thing you can get for the development of young players. for now just the youth system policy has to change and the future looks bright for homegrown talent. how many team can offer a young player a place in the second highest league of a country?
Nando.
I just watched some more highlights and this Filipe kid looks like a great talent, especially in attack. He is a LB but almost acts like a left winger at times. His dribbling skills are excellent and in the last game he had a Robinho-esque move on Soldado's second goal.

Also, Jurado looks like a pretty talented player as well. He has a fierce shot from long distance and some pretty decent dribbling skills as well.

However, the team has no special talent. No player that looks to be world class in the future. Hopefully, that will change in the near future.

thanks for the update on Castilla. Also, balboa is pretty good too, as we have seen last week. Anyway, hopefully segunda will give them the experience they need.

i have high hopes in javier garcia. he is the youngest player at castilla (born on 8th of feb. 1987). i have seen him two years ago when he was at the u17 european championship. he was strong, really strong. he had really good skills and he remembered me a lot to guti. strong vision and fine passing along with solid tricks. maybe he can be something special but i don't know how often he gets playing time at segunda divison.

overall i think the ideal year for breaking into our a-team is 19-21. they have to mature before stepping up. so he would have one or two yeas to continue his development. hopefully i stay right and he gets it around. what i think is that we don't have enough foreign talent in la castilla and our youth system. we should try to get players at the age of 15 or 16. so many big teams or team who are famous for their youth system do this.

cesc was a free signing, pique was sold for just 5 mil. what do you think are they worth in 2-3 years?

Javi Garcia has already debuted for the first team. He is HUUUUUGE. Has to be one of the biggest 17 yr old players in the world. He did recieve some criticism on his debut because at times it seemed like he was half-assing it. Hopefully that was just a one time thing.

Edit: I will try to post some pics...

Soldado sort of has a silent arrogance about him...he has the strikers mentality that makes him think that he should always score when he shoots the ball...and is never surprised when he scores...

I love that type of arrogance...a sort of Henry type attitude...
Nando.
RM Castilla tied Racing de Ferrol 0-0 today, in a game that was dominated by the Real Madrid youth team that lacked its best finisher in Soldado. The loss of key players to the first team is just another obstacle the kids of Real Madrid will have to overcome to somehow manage to stay in segunda division.

RM Castilla were the better team throughout the match and created danger through the wings by way of Balboa, Adrian Martin and especially Filipe. The Brazilian LB was clearly the man of the match as he almost put RM Castilla ahead with a great run and shot that hit the post. All the danger created by the wide men went to waste as Barral and Valero, subbing for Soldado and the injured Negredo, were extremely ineffective up front.

In defense, Ruben was impressive as he shut down Ferrol's attack time after time.

This was the lineup for RM Castilla:

Cobeño; Palencia, Arbeloa, Ruben, Filipe; Robles, Jotha; Balboa, Borja Valero, Adrián Martín (Ernesto, m.83); Barral

interesting that Lopez Caro made only one substitution the entire match as his squad was very thin for the match given that key players Soldado, De la Red, Tebar and Jurado were with the first team against Zaragoza.

In other Cantera news Real Madrid C are leaders of their group in Tercera Division and are strong contenders to get promoted to Segunda B.
Markus78
this would be the most wonderfull thing. castilla in segunda and real madrid C in segunda B. man this system would be perfect.

The only problem is the lack of true world class prospects. The Cantera is filled with decent prospects ATM and no one that is truly exciting. They have good squads that can succeed in their leagues, but they lack players with true potential to become stars. Hopefully that changes.

You may be right, but they certainly aren't can't miss prospects. Jurado is the only player on the cantera that had a regular spot on the U-20 NT, and that is worrying.

thanx man!!...

was wondering why it wasnt...it kept on getting lost with the other threads...

Felipe seems to have a good head on his shoulders and speaks with alot of ambition so I am looking forward to seeing more of this kid in a few years...
Nando.
yeah, Filipe seemed to be a good find. He reminds me a bit of Fabio Aurelio, from Valencia although Filipe seems to have better pure dribbling skills. They are the same style of player and both have a very classy left foot. Filipe hit the post on a very well taken free kick the last game. Castilla was really unlucky not to get the three points... if only Soldado had been there...
Nando.
Here is an interview with Adrian Martin, a left winger who has been a pleasant surprise this season:

Se ha asentado en la banda izquierda, ¿esperaba tanta continuidad?
No sé...

Si necesitas algo, aquí me tienes". Me quedé paralizado.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Basically he talks about how happy he is with his play this season, but that he still wants to get better, especially in the defensive side of the game. Then, he says that he feels comfortable playing on either wing and even in the center.

Then, when asked what he thought about Lux not liking to use wingers, he said that he is focused on RM Castilla but that he cant help looking at the first team every once in a while.

Then he was asked what impressed him the most from practicing with the first team and he said that Zidane's technical ability, as well as when Raul came up to him and told him that if he needed anything that he was there to help him out.

Then he says that Castilla's goal this season is to remain in segunda division.

lol thats true but you have to consider Barcelona's quality foreign talent. I mean they arguably have the two best players in the world for their age in Messi and Dos Santos. Furthermore they have come out with much better talent than Real Madrid in recent years i.e. Cesc, Iniesta, Arteta, Damia, Xavi, Puyol, Oleguer, Valdes etc.

yea but they bought Messi when he was 13...and to me he will be one the best of his generation...

Its not the same as Gago because Gago is already proving himself to be one of the best in the argentinian league...Messi was just a little kid when he was purchased and that speaks volumes to the quality of scouts Barca have...

The thing is that Raul came out in 1994 and Casillas in 1997. That is a long time without quality players. Im not even saying stars just quality players and there havent been much. Spain's youth teams dominated European football in the early years of this decade largely in part due to Barca players. It kills me to say it but Barca have a much better youth system than Real Madrid do at the moment.
Nando.
Eventhough the first division teams are on a break, in Segunda division it is business as usual. Real Madrid Castilla recieves Elche at Valdebebas tomorrow. Elche is a side that almost got promoted last year and has one of the most fanatical fanbases in the country. Elche are clearly one of the best teams in Segunda, and will be a tough test for the Canteranos of Real Madrid, who are still struggling to find their footing in the extremely tough Segunda division. In terms of individual quality, Castilla have one of the best teams in the category but there is a big leap from Segunda B to Segunda and Castilla has struggled a bit in the opening games.

One player that hasn't struggled to adapt to Segunda is Roberto Soldado. The striker returns to the team after spending most of the weekends of the past few months helping the first team get by without Baptista and Ronaldo. Soldado is currently second in Segunda Division with 7 goals which is amazing considering he hasn't played much in the last month. His only appearance was a 2 goal cameo against Polideportivo Ejido.

However Soldado isnt the only starter returning, De la Red and Jurado were also with the first team, and Javi Garcia returns after serving a one game suspension. Jurado hasn't really been able to establish his undoubted quality this season as he has been with the first team alot and not really gotten a consistent run. On form he is the most talented player on the squad and posesses a wicked shot from long range. Ruben is out for this match with a suspension, which is a blow because he has been a rock for Castilla this season. Some will remember this promising tall, blonde centre back from when he played with the first team a game at Malaga where he had a disastrous display and was subbed out. As it turned out, Ruben fell into depression after this game and is only now recovering and finding his best form.

All eyes will be on Filipe as he has finally gained confidence within the squad and has put in two stellar performances. De la Red and Garcia will look to spray the ball out to the talented wingers Martin and Balboa, who will look for Soldado up top. One interesting bit of news is that Nike has signed Balboa to a shoe deal. Apparently, the american boot company sees star potential in the RW and has snapped him up early.

Anyway this is what I expect the lineup to be:

----------------------Soldado------------------------

---A.Martin-----------Jurado--------------Balboa--

--------------De la Red--------J.Garcia-------------

Filipe--------Robles/Agus-----Arbeloa--------Palencia

-----------------------Cobeño--------------------------

He's 21. He seems to have better dribbling skills although Juanfran may be the better player.

Speaking of Juanfran, I read an article that pointed to Juanfran's improved play as one of the catalysts for Espanyol's mini-improvement. Hopefully he can help them get higher up on the table.

How is Javi Garcia doing? Last I heard of him he was very talented, but lacked motivation. BTW, the Castilla won this match 4 0. Soldado got 2, while Martin and Jurado got 1 each.
