I recently bought a ball pressure gauge. My Brine Championship says to inflate to 11.14. 11.14 is extremely hard, and is this measurement in inches squared?

If it says 11.14 then Id imagine it has to PSI, the only other commonly used pressure system is Bar and 11.14 Bar is over 100 PSI. Inflate a ball to that much and it will explode. Generally most Soccer balls should be inflated to between 10-14 Psi, this is the figure used in tests as far as im aware.
EDIT:
The following are the FIFA guidelines on balls.
It must be spherical
made of leather or other suitable material;
of a circumference of not more than 70 cm (28 ins) and not less
than 68 cm (27 ins);
not more than 450 g (16 oz) in weight and not less than 410 g
(14 oz) at the start of the match;
of a pressure equal to 0.6 – 1.1 atmosphere (600 – 1100 g/cm2) at
sea level (8.5 PSI– 15.6 PSI).

Yeah, but what about times when you go up for a header and the ball hits your nose? You wouldn't want the ball to be hard then, would you?
BTW, that's happened to me before

Well if you were any good, that would never happen in the first place (

I'm kidding by the way). I prefer the ball to be hard because it feels like I can get more force through it when I kick it, but maybe that's more of a density feling.

for punting, i prefer hard balls, all the force you provide goes into the ball and doesnt get absorbed by the ball... more power
I like a light ball with a bit of weight i would have it pumped up to the max with it being deflated a bit

Use a pump with a pressue gauge.

Most automotive shops do foot pumps with gauges on them, just make sure that they will take ball inflation adapters. Or you could also try a cycle shop that does stirrup pumps, they also have gauges but again make sure that they will take an ball inflater.
Ive have a quick google check and below is a link to what I mean. This store is in the UK and does all manner of gauged pumps but im sure shops elsewhere will do the same.
Soccersite Pumps.

you get good control with a heavy ball, but it hurts when you kick it.
