I'll be honest, this idea is taken from a few of the other English sub-forums but I think it will help get a bit more interest as it gets a bit lonely in here from time to time. Plus a few topics recently have drifted into general chit chat, so I think we should have a thread where we can all just chat.
Basically this thread is welcome to everyone, where we can discuss anything to do with Spurs or anything you just want to share with the members of SP.
I'll start with a few topics that I think are worth mentioning...
Ex. Spur Speedy Carr has retired from International football. Personally I couldn't believe his decision as he's only 29 and if i were a pro I'd want to play for my country for as long as I possibly can.
But on a brighter note, it means Stephen Kelly is likely to become first choice right-back for Ireland now, which will only be good for him and Spurs as he will be gaining vital experience at International level.
QUOTE
Republic of Ireland defender Stephen Carr has announced his international retirement.
The Newcastle ace believes the time is right to quit the international scene after Ireland's failure to qualify for next summer's World Cup finals.
Carr is the third player to quit Ireland following the decisions by Roy Keane and Kenny Cunningham to announce their international retirements.
The full back's decision comes as something of a surprise as he is still only 29 and has only won 39 caps for his country.
"I have made my decision, and there is no going back for me now," Carr told Newcastle's official website.
"I just feel the time is right to call it a day with Ireland. It was disappointing for the squad, the manager, and the whole country that we didn't qualify for the World Cup.
"I would have loved to have represented my country in Germany next summer and maybe called it quits after that, but it wasn't to be.
"Failing to qualify for the World Cup was a huge disappointment for me personally. I missed the last World Cup because of injury, and this time we ended up finishing fourth in the group so we didn't go through.
"I think it's time for me to stand aside now, and let some of the younger lads coming through have the opportunity to play for Ireland.
"I'll be 34 the next time the World Cup comes around and at that stage of my career I wouldn't feel as though I could do myself or Ireland justice in the competition should we get through.
"This has been a tough decision for me to make, but I have no doubt it is the correct one for everyone concerned."

More news this week...
Daniel Levy admits that moving to the new 70,000 Olympic stadium, after it has been used for the Olympics in 2012, could be a possibility.
This would mean that we would be reverting to East London (Stratford) which could cause a bit of an up-roar amongst many fans but than again, i'd be happy if we moved to France for a 70,000 seater stadium.
QUOTE
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has admitted the club could be interested in moving into the Olympic Stadium after it has been used for the 2012 London Games.
Spurs have considered leaving White Hart Lane in a bid to keep pace with the all the top clubs in Europe.
With a 70,000-plus stadium to be built in Stratford, east London for the Olympics it leaves open the possibility that the ground could be used for football after the Olympics.
Levy says that Spurs would consider moving into the stadium if it becomes available for football.
"That is a possibility," Levy told the Times. "At the moment it is going to be used for athletics.
"If that changes, then I am sure they will come and talk to us. There are only one or two clubs who could occupy it.
"We have the fourth largest supporter base of any English club and that us an independent assessment. And we are one of the few clubs that have sold every single seat this season.
"Chelsea had empty seats in the Champions League. I can tell you now that, if we were playing in Europe, I don't care who it would be against, this stadium would be full. The supporter base is not just large, it is very loyal."
