I was wondering what some of those players are wearing on the ankle.
Cristiano Ronaldo wears it all the time. Its like some bandage or tape.
I was watching the match of Chelsea - AS ROMA game played today & Didier Drogba had them on the ankles as well. These are only 2 of the many players that wears it
Is it something to make sure that the ankle is fre from the shinguard for better ball control or what ?

Well Underarmour makes these forearm and leg sleeves that are supposed to warm the muscles and get flowing faster, could be that; I haven't seen it on anyone yet.

Ok i was very close up to ronaldo when he came to fratton park last season, he was sub and i saw what he did.
He wears a bandage, i think called 'elastoplast' around his ankle which comes just above the tongue of his mercurials, he then uses tape up the around about the bottom half of his shin guard, taping it to his leg.
I think he does it to look different and to make it look cool when you wear white boots, but im not sure whether he'll do it with the gold mercurials next season.
I do it because It feels good and makes me look different and have the white vapors.
Anekla also does it, Nuno Valente does it. They dont use the tape though, just the bandage. So too does Deco.
Loads of players use it... Loads

It's also possible that they are meant for holding up shinguards like these:
http://216.71.44.201/store/media/nikejguardsmall.jpgcoz the don't give support on the bottom.

Ok , i understand about the tape for the shinpads to not slide down to the ankle, but why the elastrobandage for ? Usually i will use there kind of bandage on my leg or something when im hurt.
I read something about helping the blood circulate, is it true ?

i use it to stop my cheap tacky shinpads from moving up and down and sideways, it also makes you stand out that little bit more. it might help the blood circulate in the same way that wearing undershorts does, but im not so sure about that...

Well, Cristiano wears 2 bandages, he wears one under his sock, and one on the outside (the one we all see).
I think when he came to the EPL, he said he gets kicked a lot, and it's for extra protection and I suppose gives him a sense of security. It's cool though I like them.
As I say, I do exactly the same, not just to copy but it goes well with my boots.
Any other info ya want

I know all (lol)!

Well, the bandages are forever, unless they break. They're just really thin and confortable. But if you wanted to do what Ronaldo does sometimes, u'd have to just buy tape, use it, then throw it. But I suppose you could just pull the badage right up, like Ronado did v Greece I think.
Then the top bit is absolutely perfect, that's just the bandage. But when it's high and uneaven, it's tape.
When Cristiano uses tape you can usually tell because he always misses the back bit lol.
Hope I helped
