Birmingham City! Absolute disgrace! Anyone else think that they will be in the Championship come May?

New manager, new players, new attitude! Come on Blues sad.gif
Matty #3
Lets hope you're right mate.

Meaning theres only two places left for us to avoid. laugh.gif

On a serious note, the way your boys are playing at the moment, im not suprised you're considering relegation. I certainly think Steve Bruce has done all he can for the club.
D-Block
Cant see you finishing below Everton,Sunderland + Pompey, unless Pompey get a decent striker.
Dingo.

Dont honestly believe Birmingham will be in the Championship next year, i think they have enough quality to come good. The likes of Forsell, Heskey, Upson, Dunn (when fit) should be enough to keep a team up. Saying that though West Ham went down with bundles of talent in there team, its hard to say whether a team will get relegated in the relative infancy of the season though.
messi fan
Ferrari, I understand what you mean but it just the same as saying well Man Utd have Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Rooney, Scholes, Giggs etc yet lose to lonely Pompey? On paper we look like a top eight side. Heskey, Forssel, Dunn, Butt, Upson, Pennant etc. But what is the use of all that talent if we can't play as a unit? Heskey and Forssel showed one side of greatness Blackburn (which to be fair was a dreary game) but aside that they can't play together. Forssel & Morrison was good two seasons back and Heskey & Morrison last year was looking good. No chance of that now seeing as Morrison is currently playing at Palace. I really hated Brucey for the sale of Morrison. Think of the players he's let out of our grasp since he's been here. Dugarry, John, Morrison, Figueroa, Devlin, Savage, Carter. The list goes on. David Dunn is a real qualtiy player, and it shows were missing him. Equally missing Melchiot at Right back ( BRUCEY, TEBILY IS THE WORST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE! STOP PLAYING HIM!) The thing of David Dunn I really like is the ability to hold the ball and his vison and passing are amazing. With addition of Dunn to our squad we can go from 18th to 13th just like that. Sorry about the post but I really had to let that out
Dingo.

Its alright. rolleyes.gif

I see what youre saying about Morrison, but he wasnt guarenteed a spot in the line up with the permanent signing of Pandiani. Pandiani hasnt worked out as yet so i agree Morrison could have given Birmingham some much needed drive upfront that they have somewhat been lacking
messi fan
I can't see why Steve would want to sell Morrison though, even with addition of Walter Pandiani. Having three strikers is suicide in the Premier League. Forssell will always have dodgy knees from now on after his imjury, and being so big Heskey is always gonna pick up the odd knock. That leaves Pandiani playing upfront with whom? Andrew Barrowman? No we would have to resort to 4-5-1 (though this would be difficult with most of our midfielders either injured or sold) and then we would struggle even more and not be able to score goals. Either that or we would have to play someone as a forward who is clearly not a forward such as Pennant. One positive I can say is that tomorrows game against Norwich will hopefully mean Blues will start Neil Kilkenny (who was a breath of fresh air on Saturday and looks a real class act) or perhaps Matty Sadler.
dreamlander
I cant believe Pandiani was bought. The man was shit even when he was on loan. Serves Birmingham right fro screwing up 2 decent partnerships in Heskey/Forssel with Morrison.

Fools! And now we have beaten ye, ye can go wherever the hell ye want.

I got to admit, Birmingham have really disappointed me this season. I actually thought this season that they might have the steel to get into the Uefa Cup or challenge for the League Cup at least. But instead they find themselves rotting at the near foot of the table and their performances being dire week in week out.

I recently went to see them with my friend against Charlton. I thought they had a great chance of winning and that their ealry season form was just a little bit of early season rust. I find myself by half-time with a sore throat after a barrage of insults to the players. I can tell you now i wasnt the only one there red in the face.

I think Martins is right and that Birmingham have gotta pull their socks up and get cracking, othrwise they might be playing Stoke City with a half-empty St. Andrews next season.

Dingo.

Pandiani actually played well when he was on loan, chipped in with some goals and played very good when he played, ever since he was bought though his goals have dried up and his performances are lacklustre to say the least.

They still got a chance of the League Cup i suppose. Boro and Blackburn have showed that any one can win the League Cup, theres hope for them yet.

I dont think Birmingham fans would desert the club if they were relegated, they have been through tough times before (losing in Play Off Final) and the fans have stuck with them, they have great supporters from what ive seen.

I spose, i was just trying to make a point.

^^ I didn't think there would be any other Wolves fans on here, seeing as they are smaller than many of the clubs that are spoken about on here.

We're the only two. sad.gif

There was another called Liason, but he seems to have dissappeared.

Liason is Makelele, Ferrari he had a name change. I made a wager with my mum today (If Birmingham lose we will play in The Championship.) I really can't see us staying up. We have NO quality, no passion. I don't think anyone who wears the royal blue could honestly rase their hand and say 'I am willing to play for Birmingham through thick & thin'. Kilkenny has passion so I suppose he is an exception. I am losing faith in Birmingham. Fur straight losses and no wins at home is no way to stay in the top division sad.gif

Looking at it now, all 3 of the midlands sides arent exactly playing that well. West Brom, IMO, are the worst on paper and so far they have beaten Arsenal and thats their season pretty much done. While Villa are the strongest, the players just dont seem to give a fuck. I honestly believe Angel, Mellberg, Barry and now Baros should be should be a good enough core to carry a team into Europe....Sorenson, Delaney, Milner, Hendri, Bouma Berger, McCann and our one shining light Davis should be able to provide enough support to these guys, but something has gone very wrong and im not sure what it is...
MDeep.10
Iyeah no midlans team is doing well at the moment. Im sure That blues form will pick up even though i hate to say it you will stay up. Villas also we always seem to start bad and finish well and vis-versa.
messi fan
I was right!

But I'm actually quite happy we were relegated. Now we have a fresh batch of players with bags of talent. I really like Nicklas Bendtner, and I hope we can extend his loan beyond January. Were having abit of a dip in form but I still think we will finish top 6. I want Bruce out though, I really don't think he's the right man for the job.
Gunner_TH14
u wont get bendnter

Fucking Paul Robinson.

He meant that, dirty bastard. Couldn't help it because he is a shitty slow player. Get well soon Damien!
Matty #3
Aye, that was a horrific challenge. Almost Ben Thatcher esque.

With the ball on the floor, and Robinson jumping into Johnson, breaking his jaw, its clear that there was some intention in the challenge, and i hope the FA pick up on it and take some action.
Dingo.

I havent actually seen the incident for some reason but the way people have described it, it does sound like a really bad challenge. Lets hope the FA dont brush it off because it isnt as high profile as the Thatcher incident but if its as bad as that challenge then he deserves exactly what Thatcher got. Paul Robinson has always looked like a bit of a nutter.
mmm...
i wish birmingham all the best
but if coming to the prem'ship means we lose bendtner then sorry i wish you stay in division 1 tongue.gif
Courtsy
Can any Birmingham fans tell me a little about young Neill Kilkenny, an Aussie midfield there? Thanks smile.gif
messi fan
Yeah, most of the time he plays as a sub and I feel abit sorry for Neil because it's blatantly obvious he has no real future at the club. I remember when we draw with Liverpool 2-2 last season and he got sent off, everyone said that he was man of the match that day. Don't think he's scored for us yet, but if he can get a steady flow of games maybe he can force his way into our first team. Heaven knows hes better than Stephen Clemence and Neil Danns.
messi fan
Blues beat Plymouth 3-0 to move to the top of The Championship!

And I was there. Oh, and Maik Taylor pulled off this treble save that would of left Gianluigi Buffon gasping.

Hail King Nicklas Bendtner. King of the Championship.
Dingo.

Birmingham are looking in ominous form at the moment and with Cardiff slipping up i think Brum are now very mch favourites to go up unless they have a dramatic collapse in form. Bendtner looks a real prospect and if he can stay fit then he will be the main catalyst in there promotion chances, if they can get up to the Premiership then they will be looking to hold onto him im sure along with the other two youngster Larsson and Muamba. Things looking good for Brum and all is forgotten from the time earlier this season when fans were calling for Bruce' head.
Matty #3
I'll like you better if you beat Newcastle in the FA Cup...biggrin.gif

Bendtner to get a couple...

2-1 would be nice. Infact, i dont care what the score is.
Xan !!
I wish goood Luck to Birmingham cheers1.gif and also i wish Arsenal's Loanees Muamba , Larsson and bandtner should do their most to get them back to EPL smile.gif between Bendtner and larssson are doing fantastically well for the Birmingham thumbsup.gif It's beeen said that AcMilan will bid 6Million for bendtner !!! No Way he is going there thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Hat trick for McSheffery, perfect partner for Rooney Mr McClaren.
Joel.
Birmingham were brilliant against Preston. Arguably the best quality football I've seen from the Championship all season. Both teams look like they're going to go up, Preston via the Play-offs as I don't think they'll hold off the inevitable attack from Cardiff but Birmingham should win that hands down, Derby are bound to have a bad spell, they always do.

Bruce has turned around that side who embarrassed themselves in the Premiership with a few new additions in January and Upson's return they look like they'll continue their serious title threat.

McSheffery's been a revelation, I don't think he up to an England call-up though but if he keeps knocking them in the way he has been doing Premiership interest is bound to come along next month.

That Arsenal pair look prety handy aswell.
Robin(FanTastic)Persie
birmingham are a top side and i was supporting them to stay up as they also educate are arsenal youngsters bendtner and larsson and muamba are doing great. top lads also sheffiry (sp) is doing superb hope you come back to the prem next year.
Matty #3
Apparantly Birmingham may get a fine or points deducted for their game being called off yesterday...anyone heard anymore on this?

It happened to Middlesbrough in the 90's, and the point deduction got them relegated from the Premiership....obviously its not going to get Birmingham relegated, but it could certainly put them down to the playoffs, depending on how big the deduction is (usually around 10 points?).

Back where we belong at the top.

I like Vine hes a battler and deserves his first goal. Also like the Arsenal kids and Bendtner man he jumps so high and he can bring in down lovely. Hopefully premiership football next season.
23 Carra Gold.
Cheeky win just then. Brilliant finish to equalise though i really do feel West Brom were hard done by.
I Named My Son Rocky
What a goal by Johnson, hope Brum go up this season, love their team and fans.

Great goal today I almost hit the roof when DJ scored. What concerns me is the fact that we have three great strikers and only two can play. You can't drop Bendtner or Vine, but Jerome too is valuable. DJ Campbellis crap I hope he flys in the summer to about two leagues lower when he can hack it. Gary McSheffery is a class act, I think we would of won with his contribution. If we go up I heard were spending big, but we just need to spend smart. In the summer:

Out

Gray, Campbell Nafti (maybe).

In

Whoever wants to play for us and will put his all in (Nugent biggrin.gif)

I really want SB to start playing some of our kids. I'm hearing good things about Aluko Howell McPike. I'm also over the moon with our acadmey players Sadler and Doyle the goalkeeper.
There's Only One United
QUOTE
Birmingham City have signed veteran Portsmouth striker Andy Cole on loan until the end of the season.
Cole, 35, has made only five starts for Pompey since joining from Manchester City for £500,000 in August 2006.

Blues boss Steve Bruce, a former team-mate of Cole at Manchester United, feels he will boost his side's hopes of promotion to the Premiership.

"Andy can help us get across the finishing line in what is a very tight promotion battle," Bruce said.

"I played with him at United - although it was a long time ago - and he is a top, top professional who looks after himself. That's why he is still a Premiership player.

"We have very young players at the top end of the pitch, people like Cameron Jerome, DJ Campbell and Nicklas Bendtner although they all have great potential.

"I just feel we need that extra bit of experience and quality up front."

Bruce and Cole were team-mates at Old Trafford from January 1995 until May 1996.

If he can score 3 or 4 goals, I'll be happy. We can't expect too much from him, but I am looking for passion and hardwork, and I'm also trying to think of who will we be dropped so he can play.
Dingo.

I think the experience of Andy Cole will be key, he can help others around him because he knows what its like to be at the top of the table and challenging for honours so he can be a calming influence and probably chip in with a few goals.

Thank God, we've done it!!!!

Brucie took some stick earlier in the season and i was one of many giving it, but im man enough to eat humble pie and say i was wrong.

Dingo.

Congrats to the Blues, they have been pretty good this season and Bruce has come through the season well after fans were calling for his head earlier in the season, he has made some shrewd buys and knit together a really good team.
