Why should i buy your boots? Instead of buying adidas, nike, or hummel. What is differentiates your boots? I never heard of nomis until they were posted in these forums. Are yall even marketing your products here in the US?

Have you been to the soccer.com website or seen the Eurosport mag. They're in there.
The difference is that Nomis gives you better grip in Dry/Wet Conditions. 16x better with Dry Grip, 7x better with wet grip respectively. This test was done by taking the coefficient of friction on the boots, while comparing it to a regular pair.

umm yea...so these boots are just being differentiated by their so called grip in dry/wet conditions.wow! that makes me want to buy them.

Soccer.com has lots of boots. They have not marketed the Nomis brand! If i ask people have they seen the new Nomis cleats they won't know what i am talking about.

Grip & comfort! And a boot that gets grippier in the wet - so a totally unique product. And you are absolutely correct - the brand has not been marketed yet in America. Nomis are still in their first years of trading and the brand has been officially launched in the UK and Australia. Please read through my previous posts about the distributors that have now been agreed for US/Japan/France/Germany. I am sure you will start to see marketing once the distribution outlets have been finalised.

thanks for the reply. i am just a little skeptical about a new brand, nothing against nomis but i just don't know much about them. i was the same way with hummel about why their boots are priced so high until i actually just bought a pair recently and can kind of see why.

Of course. The sports wear market is dominated by the two major companies and so you have to be quite brave and believe in your product to even think about launching a new one! With all brands they need time to develop their relationship with the consumer and their market position. In another year I'm sure you won't be so skeptical. (Well I hope you won't be anyway!!)

Question about sizing.. I need to know what size to get if I decide to buy a pair of boots with this deal coming up. I currently wear a Adidas F50+ size US 10, what do size of Nomis boots compare that? or if there is a different boot I can size my foot to that can compare to Nomis boots.

Good question! All size information will be on the site, but I've just checked with Nomis and they recommend to buy 1/2 size smaller than other brands. So you would go for a 9.5. To add a little confusion, they do also recommend if you are choosing the "glove" boot to go for a whole size smaller as the K-Leather stretches and moulds to your feet after a little while.

I believe distribution in Japan is being organised - the Australasian website would hope to cover your market in the immediate future. I do know a Japanese regionality of the website will be in the next phase of the development.

oh i see.thanks for the quick response.one more question though,i've always liked the innovative designs and uniqueness of you boots, however i was wondering, how much percentage of synthetic materials is on your boots as compared to the percentage of leather on the boot? u see,ive always been a leather man and i hope to hear that leather's the main composite material.thanks in advance.

just bought the red and black soft ground wet grip Nomis. I must say im very impressed.
Boots look really good, as soon as i wore them on the pitch, i had a lot of people asking me where i got those new boots from.
One thing i love about this boot is the way the ball sticks to your foot...WOW!! The striking area is perfect as the tongue covers the laces. The most important thing is that these boots are damn comfortable infact i go as far to say that they are more comfy than the kelme masters i bought last week(although i am returning them).
On the downside of things(everything has a downside!) i think the studs at the back are too short becsue a couple of times i slipped even when not trying to stop abruptly. Some poeple might find the shoe a bit on the heavy due to the studs.
Are there any other studs that can be attached to this boot?
Thats the only thing i found lacking in the boot but im really impressed with them.
Thank you Simon.

Hi Ali47
All the current boots are 90% leather. The heel counter is synthetic. The top of the range boots use premium K-Leather and the lower range use premium bovine leathers.

The site is ready! We are just fixing a little couple of issues for MAC users so they will be able to take full advantage of the opening offer too. As it is approaching the end of the week, it is most likely the opening offer will be delayed slightly till Monday or Tuesday (it's bad practice to launch a site at the end of the week as if there are any unforeseen problems there is no one around to fix it!)
Hang in there, it's coming real soon!!
Thanks

Hi everyone.
I'm now building a "reviews" section on the new Nomis Football website. Could I please ask anyone who has purchased any Nomis boots to email me their thoughts on them please. Good or bad! Please send to
info@nomissports.com. Please can you let me know also, your age, location, how long you have been playing in the boots etc. All info is helpful.
Because of the imminent launch of the online shop I would prefer you to email them to me directly, rather than post them here as I do not wish to be accused of tryng to "big up" the boots just before the shop is launched. (I know there are some cynics out there

)
Thanks

Ha Ha! You would not believe how close the online shop is. It's basically ready and I'm very excited about it. You really don't have much longer to wait at all! I've turned into a twitching nervous wreck as this site has been my life for the last few months and now it is just a flick of a switch away!
The football website is a different site entirely - a much bigger and better improvement to the current www.nomisfootball.com and that should be coming out in the next few weeks.
Thanks

fellas, i got an email about the nomis offer. here it is...
We are proud to announce the launch of www.shopnomis.com, and as a registered Nomis member we are sending you details of our launch offer before public release. This will give you time to visit the site beforehand and let you be one of the first to take advantage of our great opening offer, which starts on Tuesday December 13, 2005, at 9am (AEST).
On Wednesday November 16, 2005, Australia qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 32 years. At Nomis, we are so excited about this that we thought we should celebrate. So, starting on Tuesday December 13, 2005, at 9am AEST, we will be running a 32-hour launch promotion. This is a one-off promotion that will never be repeated again, so don’t miss out!
During the promotion we will be giving away 32 pairs of boots, absolutely free! To be one of the lucky recipients of this great offer, all you have to do is be one of the first 32 people to place an order for boots online. We will refund the cost of your free pair of boots back onto your credit card once your purchase has been processed. Note that this offer is strictly limited to one pair of free boots per order, and that there is a limit of one order per person that is eligible for free boots. In the event of two or more pairs of boots being purchased in the one order, the lower priced product will be the item received for free.
As if free delivery and free boots wasn’t already enough, every single order placed within this special promotional period will get a huge 32% deducted off the cost of their order. Be warned: You will never find these prices as low as these repeated anywhere.
We will be donating 32% of the proceeds of all online orders taken over the 32 hour promotional period to the Mater Children's Hospital in Brisbane, Australia. The more orders we get the more we will be able to donate.
It’s simple! At 9am AEST on Tueday December 13, 2005, simply go to www.shopnomis.com and purchase your products. When you have selected your products and are in the shopping bag area of the website, simply enter the following promotion code into the promotions box and press "update".
Sorry if i spoiled the beans Micheal. but it is such a great deal.

then i'll trade my nine pincers in for a pair of black pearls..

Hello_Nomis
Dec 9 2005, 06:38 PM
Hi all
Yes. It's live! Don't worry about spilling the beans, the news has spread like wildfire already. People need the promo code anyway to take advantage of the offer.
Happy shopping!
Michael
BTW - on a personal note, I would love to hear what you think about the site, how easy it is to use, how long it took you to discover how to view the different colour variations of a model, did you see the 360s etc etc - please mail comments to me at
michael@hellomedia.com.au if you can!
penf.pat.15
Dec 9 2005, 07:10 PM
@ brian - my nine pincers are separating between the upper and the sole, and also, one of the shoelace loops came undone, so at the very top of my laces, i only have one lace crossing... Michael, all i have to do is take a couple pictures and email right?
btw, i love the website. its really nice to have all the colors be selectable, rather than have all the different colors be different items. i saw the 360 view, but i don't remember seeing a way to look at the top of the shoe... is it possible i missed it?
one more thing, is this deal going to happen for every online store, or just the australian one? i've noticed the other stores aren't open yet. like, is it a one time thing, or is it going to happen every time you open one of the online stores.
Hello_Nomis
Dec 9 2005, 09:54 PM
Hi Brian - yes, just take some photos and mail them across to Nomis. I know they assess any problem individually. Please remember I am not involved in this so it is impossible for me to say either way, but your first thing to do is to contact them at info@nomissports.com and they will contact you back.
Unfortunately the 360s are just from a side on view.
This promotion is a one off - the other stores will not have any opening offer (as basically it is just a currency selection that is being integrated. Miss this and I don't think you will see anything like this again!
Thanks
Michael

Unfortunately yes - the gateway provider (the company that processes the credit card info) can't handle a transaction of $0, hence why we will refund them once the order has gone through. It also means that one person cannot make 32 purchases of free shoes - 'cause that just would not be fair!!

I'm afraid not. If you read the Returns section it says, "Refunds for incorrect sizing choice or changes of mind will not be given".
And I don't think that would have been a very smart idea on their behalf if you were aloud to do that.
penf.pat.15
Dec 10 2005, 01:29 PM
yeah, or they might have a bunch of people buy cleats, only to realize they weren't free, then return them. no business

quick question: do you think the shopnomis website has the server capacity to accomodate the number of people going to buy? like, i bet over 5000 people are going to try and be the first 32.. you think the server can make it?
Brian_005
Dec 10 2005, 11:13 PM
I'm sure they would have taken that into consideration before making this offer. But who knows.. I've been wrong before.
penf.pat.15
Dec 11 2005, 12:16 AM
you'd think that..
but for example, fandango (that movie ticket website) clearly didn't think about expanding their servers (or dedicate other servers) for harry potter 4. that website was entirely unaccessable all of that friday. i hope the same thing doesn't happen to nomis.. cause i want my free sparks!!!
ps.. either way, i'm buying a pair.. 32% off is a great deal

Dec 11 2005, 12:44 AM

Dec 11 2005, 02:12 AM
Hi
Hopefully they won't but if the servers do go down, I will make sure the offer is continued for the amount of time it's down. The site will be monitored closely throughout the 32 hours.
Thanks & good luck in being the first 32 orders!

Hi sarcastic, this has been answered previously in this thread - there is no reason why you cannot use Dry Control boots in wet conditions and there would be no problems caused by this. In fact two of the best AFL goals of the season were by a player wearing Nomis Sparks in torrential rain!
